Yuuuuuummy!!!!!!!! Had a major boba milk tea craving, so I had the bright idea to make a trip to this spot after a workout. I parked in the free structure behind the building and I came around 1:30pm on a Thursday and wow the structure was pretty busy to my surprise! Currently, they have a "soft opening" sign, but the menu offering was expansive and they seemed to have a good amount of staff to handle a busy day. The ordering process was easy as everything is listed out in steps. I ordered a regular Boba Milk Tea which has the cream already mixed in. I chose regular sugar and ice, and my goodness! As soon as I started drinking this, I couldn't stop. On my way back to my car, to my demise, half of my drink DISAPPEARED! (i wonder where it went ) The drink itself was not too sweet, boba somehow tasted like MARSHMALLOWS with the perfect QQ. The milk tea was OH SO creamy, but the tea flavor was still able to shine through! I will be saving this spot as a serious treat for me! This spot is really spacious! A bit too spacious as they haven't filled it up yet, but I assume it gets busier later in the day and weekends, so there's plenty of room to wait and some seats as well. Its nice not having to wait in a line outside to order Boba, so I'm all for the new Chicha San Chen in Alhambra. The location is huge inside, so there's also a nice waiting area to sit while you wait for your drink. Chicha's boba flavors are all very tea focused, and they do a great job of really making strong flavors. I've ordered the mango and pineapple tarts before, and I've always thought that the drinks really do taste quite like the fruit. They are priced relatively higher than other boba stores, but I do think that their quality stands out in the over-saturated boba market. I'd highly recommend checking out the new Chicha store for any Boba fans. read more

This and torotea in Diamond Bar are my two favorite tea places in SoCal by far. This location is in soft opening right now but if you show up at opening you can get in quickly. It is refreshing to see the tea freshly brewed in front of you, they don't skimp on the quality of tea. Topping combos allow for endless variety. Compared to the San Gabriel location, this one feels larger and has better parking. Both locations brew each cup individually so expect 20-30 minutes wait or longer, but the result is delicious and well worth the trouble if you're picky about tea; I find I'm divided-- some days it's worth it, other days, between the wait and the cost I could go elsewhere. But overall, of the new-school milk tea places to open in the past few years, I find Chicha San Chen to be among the better ones, and this location in particular is nice as they're actually large enough to have seating. read more

TLDR: The brown sugar with boba here is the best I have ever had..and also the most expensive qq. The last time I ordered chicha, I was super unsatisfied so I never came back but with this new store in Alhambra, my friend managed to convince me to try a different drink - the brown sugar boba. Chi Cha San Chen just opened on Alhambra's main street, and since I'd never been to one of their boba shops, I decided to check it out this afternoon. The space is large, with a few tables on the left side and two tables reserved in the back. When I arrived, there were a lot of people in line, but the line moved quickly, and I was able to  get all of my drinks in about 20 minutes. The Teapresso Machine brews every cup fresh to request. The drinks are very flavorful, with a pleasant fragrance and tea flavor. The drinks are costly and quite small. If you don't mind the price and want the finest quality of the tea flavor. We were suprised this place opened up a block away from our apartment. Im glad chi cha san chen is opening up more shops, so we don't have to wait in a long line at the San Gabriel Location. Pros: - it was my first experience trying out taro balls in my milk tea. I am glad they recommended it to me! It was chewie like a mochi and a nice sweetness which complements well with the black milk tea. - Line wasn't as long as the one in San Gabriel. It has plenty of seating and more spacious. You can actually breathe in there. Overall: I enjoy the Alhambra location the best due to the convenience and atmosphere. Highly recommend for those tea enthusiasts out in the 626. =]. Surprisingly even on a Saturday night, this place has none of the crazy lines like the San Gabriel location gets. That might be nice because I feel like the osmanthus oolong isn't as watered down as what I've gotten before in the San Gabriel location, maybe cause they steep it better?? Who knows but my other friend agrees that this place tastes a little different than the San Gabriel location. So happy there's a store even closer to me now! Chicha San Chen is still one of my top boba spots. This store is a LOT bigger and roomier than the San Gabriel store. They also do online order on weekdays which is such a nice perk! I do wish it extended to weekends but I'll take what I can get. The San Gabriel one unfortunately does not offer this. I came on a week night--did online ordering-- and picked up my order really quickly. My go to order is the Dong Ding Oolong Tea with coconut jelly or Cassia Black Tea. Staff were friendly and attentive. They were all lined up waiting for customers as it was a week night on a Thursday so pretty empty. They have a few tables but it felt very open and spacious. I have not gone on the weekends yet so I'm not sure how the lines are and wait time. Parking was easy as I parked on the parking structure on 1st Street. This place is one of the GOAT boba places, one of the best in the world! The teas are of super premium quality, and each cup is brewed to order to ensure that good quality is maintained. I have been to multiple locations of Chicha and they have all met high expectations. Wait on a Saturday after lunch about 40 mins till drink actually came out (Nov 2024). The ice level is not adjustable due to the nature of how they brew the tea hot. Drink is about $8. Service is friendly and there is a number system to get your order. Absolutely worth the wait to try this spot for a super premium boba experience. Wish they would open even more stores! Store is new, clean, and has a few tables to sit. Might be my new favorite tea shop! I believe the teas are individually brewed for each order, which explains the long wait times. If you go when it's not too busy you can get your tea in less than 20 minutes. I ordered the peach dong ding oolong with mousse @ 30% sweetness and it was PERFECT! Amazing taste and I liked that there was a bit of texture to it (felt like there were peach chunks in it?). I don't understand the complaints about pricing; ~$8 is a fair price especially given all the tariff uncertainty. Overall, I highly recommend this place. read more

It was a little hard to find as they didn't have a sign posted up to where I could have seen it easily as I walked by it a few times not noticing what boba place it was. I had first walked by when they had opened an already seen a little line outside waiting. Only downside to this is that it is street parking which makes it a little hard to find parking but however, if you drive around the corner there is a parking garage that allows you to park for free for 4 hours! We visited Chicha twice at different times to try their High Mountain and Osmanthus Oolong teas. During our first visit, we ordered the teas with added flavors but found that the flavorings overwhelmed the natural tea taste. Hoping for a better experience, we returned and ordered the teas plain, without any additional flavors. Unfortunately, we still felt the tea lacked the depth and richness we were expecting. The drinks tasted quite watered down for the price point. While the presentation and service were nice, the tea itself didn't quite meet our expectations. That said, it might just come down to personal preference--we may not be the target audience for this style of tea. read more

Was excited to have a bigger Chicha closer to me, but disappointed in the overall drink quality. We got the Peach Dong Ding Oolong tea from the seasonal menu. It was overly sweet even with the adjusted sweetness level. It tasted artificial and overly syrupy. The tea flavors did not come through. Also tried the creamy mango tart, it was slightly better but too watery. Overhyped and probably will not be visiting again given the high price. Would reconsider if drinks are more competitively priced with the many other boba places on the same street. There wasn't a line to order, but waited around 15 minutes to pickup drink. read more

4.5/5 Stars to be more accurate. After trying to San Gabriel location a year back, I was surprised that they opened yet another location in the SGV. The ambience is nice with lots of seating and modern design. Service is welcoming and its easy to order as it should be. The drinks are on the pricer side (around 8.50 per) but this is definitely a quality over quantity boba shop. Dong Ding Oolong Milk Tea was great. Be prepared to wait in line. Luckily my sister had already waited 20 minutes before I got there, which we then waited another 10 or so minutes (30-35 min wait total). But since we had already waited so long, my sister insisted I try something, so I opted for the Osthmanthus Oolong Tea with Mousse (sweet and savory cream top), light sweetness. My brother in law ordered the Dong Ding Oolong Tea. I never understood this new wave of boba tea shops that's been on the rise the past couple of years and was complaining to my sister while waiting in line. But boy was I so wrong. I enjoyed my drink at the time but didn't think too much of it, and definitely did not care for the Dong Ding Tea my brother in law ordered. But by the next day and the day after, all I could think about was the Osthmanthus Oolong Tea with Mousse that I ordered, wondering when the next time I could get my lips on that tea again. Chicha San Chen seriously has some of the best milk tea in LA -- and I drink a lot of tea. You can really taste the quality of the tea itself, not just the sweetness or toppings. The basic milk tea here is next level -- smooth, rich, and super fragrant. There's usually a bit of a line when we go, but it moves pretty fast and everything's really efficient. I think I found my new fav boba spot. This location is still in its soft opening phase but people are in the know. I came right around opening time and the line built up quick. I got their dong ding oolong tea with boba and ended up ordering their creamy mango tart to go. The shop itself is so clean and minimalistic, and all the workers have a role in their drink making system. I was blown away by the fresh, natural taste of the tea and perfectly chewy boba. So happy that Chicha is even closer to me now and within walking distance! I frequent the San Gabriel location but the line is always long (and I still wait in it). The drinks are so good, I have never had a bad drink here. I come here when I want extremely good boba (right amount of chew, right amount of sweetness, right mount of freshness) and when I want really strong tea flavors. This is my favorite spot for boba! I wish the Taro selections were not seasonal because those are my favorite. Aside from that I usually just get the basic boba milk tea because it truly tastes the best here. It is on the pricer side but I think the quality of the drinks are worth it. I keep seeing people compare Chicha to places like 7leaves/Wushiland/etc and honestly Chicha is not even on the same tier as those places and it shouldnt be placed on the same tier. Places like those premake their drinks and/or use hella coffee creamer / powder creamer so I would argue that Chicha is on a different and higher standard when it comes to boba/tea! read more

The line to order was a bit long (20 minute wait) but it was definitely worth the wait! I got the osmanthus oolong tea with mango, less sweet, regular ice, and my drink was absolutely perfect for me. The balance between the fruit and the floral was wonderful. My friend ordered the creamy lemon tart, and that was fantastic. I will definitely be returning to order that drink! It was exactly like a lemon merengue, with not as much sugar (which was fine for me) . The service was quick and friendly, and the girl at the register went over my order twice to make sure it was what I ordered. I really appreciate the service and the fine tea at this business! ive been wanting to try this place out & i finally got the chance to. this place had a medium sized line when we got here so i waited for 7-10 minutes to take my order. my friend recommended me to get the lemon & mango w/ condensed milk, i got it with minimal sugar (5/5). the worker did warn it would be a bit more sour bc i wanted less sugar but honestly i thought it tasted great since i don't like 100% sweetness. it was a refreshingly sour yet creamy drink with the addition of the condensed milk. the taste reminded me of a lemon cake & i love lemon cake! they had nice showcase of the tea leaves & you can see the workers brewing tea too. the aesthetics were nice & they also sold tea tins & more! my friends & i realized they have a waiting area for the drinks in the back of the store that was pretty empty bc the line is set up in a way that leads you back to the front which can get crowded. i would suggest a layout fix if possible but other than that, great place & has multiple seating too! read more

This made it to one of our top five boba lists in SoCal! They know what they are doing - the tea is delightfully brewed - not too strong and full of flavor. We tried the Brown Sugar and the Oolong, both were absolutely delicious. As an Asian, it met the "it's not too sweet" standard of dessert taste. Soft opening had about a 50 minute wait from when we stood in line and got our drinks. The line was constantly long the whole time we were there. This is the 3rd location we have been to and their drinks are extremely consistent. I love the tea aroma once you walk into this tea shop. The design of the store is simple but modern with high ceilings. You can see the workers measure out the tea leafs by weight and the hot water to have a consistent pour every time.
