Food is good like normal at chicken express but I want to give a special shoutout to this chicken express for their clear community involvement. I'm not from Arkadelphia but when you walk in you can see thank you letters from kids, sports organizations, local school, etc. it's awesome to see a chain ran by people who pour back into their community. This place is good. The chicken was crispy with bits of crisp jumping off of it. The gravy tasted well...BUT WAS WAY BETTER WITH THE HOT SALT. Fried pickles could have used a bit more frying but overall tart and salty. Service was great with the staff pumping out orders and having good hospitality. Place was well decorated with deers with little Santa hats on them. TVs were in inconvenient spots to look at but maybe it's because where I was sitting. 4/5 the pickles dragged the review down a little but would definitely recommend! read more

We love Chicken Express, and the food was good on this recent visit. However; they had tried to open with only a few (3?) employees, and had quickly become overwhelmed. It took longer than normal to get our food, and our order was incorrect. They quickly corrected it, and we bore them no ill will. There were simply too few hands on deck, and at least one needed retraining. Example: the young male employee who literally screamed out order numbers as they were ready - needed to be reined in a bit. This small dining area doesn't require 140 decibel announcements. *I didn't intend to review them on this sub-par visit, but I kept getting requests from Yelp - and this is the true story. read more

We ordered thighs and livers. They were delivered hot and rolls fresh out of oven. Place was clean as were bathrooms. Here is my complaint: we were in line and a whole crew of screaming teenagers came in with a couple of chaperones. The main chaperone broke in line ahead of us to order. The kids were loud, jumping all over the place. U couldn't hear yourself think! I was getting my drink and she was behind me and told me they had a basketball game. I told her good for them but they are too pound and we couldn't hear! So she tells the other chaperones along with the finger pointing and laughing. Can u say rude?!? Driving down 30 on way home and thought we'd stop in for some fried chicken goodness! Easy to find from the highway with plenty of parking! Lots of interesting local flair on the walls! The establishment was very well maintained and the bathrooms (important to us travelers) were very clean! Staff were very friendly during the ordering! The staff was behind on cleaning up the tables and floors but they did so after we were seated. The chicken livers were hot, fresh and very tasty (said my traveling partner as I'm not a chiggen liver fan). My 3 piece meal was okay. The chicken is so juicy it is like they have a pen out back of live chickens. This location was huge...A really big eating area! They have 6 TVs, 3 on each side, all showing something different. If you subtract the multiple dead deer heads that watch your every move this location is pretty nice. I'm telling you the tenders are as juicy and delectable as any I have ever eaten. The corn nuggets were sinful and my son liked the corn on the cob too. I have eaten at more then a few chicken express locations and this has to have been one of if not the best food I have had at any of them. I had chicken express for the first time in Huntsville and i fell in love so hard. Anyways, it's only in small towns and i'm in houston + austin so i never get to have it. I went to the location in round rock and it sucked especially because the fried pickles were spears and not slices. Came to this location on our way back to texas and it was just like what i remembered. The staff was very friendly and nice. Food took a while to come out but they let us know it'd be a wait. Fried pickles were not coated excessively in batter. Ranch, gravy, ketchup and hot sauce was also provided! read more

I went into this expecting low quality and low expectations because the name and logo makes me think of gas station chicken, but this was just about all that was open after a Wal Mart Trip. The food was sooo fresh and yummy. They even had to cook some fresh chicken for part of our meal. The staff was soo friendly. Service is was top notch and to my surprise they were playing K-Love. I ordered chicken tender dinner that come with 2 sides. I chose the corn poppers and fries. My meal also came with a biscuit and a cup gravy. I enjoyed the sides more than the actual chicken. Corn poppers were yummy, along with the biscuit and gravy. Chicken tenders were 3 stars; sides were 4 stars. There was a Bible verse on the receipt with an offer of 5% off if you recite it on your next visit. Nice touch. I'd eat here again. read more

My husband and I literally just stopped to pick up some food on our way through on I-30. Our daughters had stopped at this Chicken Express in the past and thought the food was great. Today, it was inedible. I walked in, and the air smelled like bad grease. I should have turned around and left. I ordered gizzards, livers, and hot wings to go. After the food was done--it literally was cooked while I waited--I got back in the car. We opened the piping hot gizzards first. They tasted like rancid grease. So we tried the livers, which were slightly better, but we couldn't eat them either. The acrid taste in our mouths was awful. We tried the hot wings, and they weren't good either. We drove on down the road and pulled in at a rest stop to throw it all away. Inedible. We talked with one of our daughters who had been very happy with the food here in the past. Stopped by while driving through Arkansas. I was looking for cheap, fast southern comfort food. It did not disappoint. To me, this place is like kfc but much better. Service was great, kitchen and restaurant looked clean. Food was good. Not fancy, but good fast food. The chicken strips came with a side of white gravy which I wasn't expecting, but happy to receive. Also, being a tourist, I thought their "hot wings" were buffalo wings, like with a wet sauce, but turns out they're regular fried wings but with a spiced rub applied before frying. However their sides are so good and no matter what time you order it will be fresh ish. Unlike how at McDonald's if you come at a wrong time you just get the fries that have been there all day, they will make a new batch just for you. Then when we tried the pickles they have been fried in pure salt! Pickles are already salty no need to cake on any more. And they were so greasy all of our food was dripping. I don't normally like Chicken Express, at least not in Texas anyways, but this Chicken Express was AMAZING. The chicken was moist, tender, and delicious. Along with that, the service I received from the manager and assistant manager was very warm and inviting, like I would expect from a restaurant in the South. And while it might offend some, the receipt had an offer to memorize a Bible verse to get 50 cents off a future purchase at that particular location. All of these things will make me come back again, next time I'm passing through Arkadelphia! read more

All I can say is OMG!!! My husband and myself were on a road trip and decide to stop in. That's was one of the best things we could have done. The food here is amazing. The chicken wings was golden brown and cook with perfection. The rolls were hot and oh so delicious. They were amazing. I went back and order 4 more of them for $1.95. The chicken gizzards and lovers were super tender and seasoned really well. I wish we had one in Memphis, tn. This place has a lot of friendly faces. The best liver and gizzards I've had this far.
