It's basically a hole-in-the-wall where you order your food and take it home. However, the chicken is the best I've had in quite a while. The potato wedges are perfectly seasoned and even the slaw was damn good. Soda is RC cola products in cans. Price cannot be beat for the value. Wow, I was so happy to find this place. My wife and I have driven by this place plenty of times. We did a random Yelp check on our iPhone as we were driving by the other day, and couldn't wait to try it out a few days later. The chicken was PERFECTLY cooked. I hosted a super bowl party this evening and ordered Chicken Inn as the main dish. I was able to pre-order two days prior and whoever answered the phone was very friendly and the process took all of two minutes. Only thing was, I ordered a 50 piece box and wasn't sure if they might have heard me say 15 piece. I called again yesterday just to confirm and they were again friendly, fast, and able to pull up my order to confirm it was in fact for 50 pieces. When I picked it up today it was ready right on time with no waiting. My guests were extremely pleased with the chicken and of course I was as well. Thank you for helping to make my party a hit! Everyone loved it! Bottom line, if you have a taste for fried (technically broasted) chicken you can't go wrong with Chicken Inn. It's the best I've ever had. Very good chicken: -Chicken: good, juicy, skin/crust perfect balance of salt and seasoning, not greasy, very flavorful -Coleslaw: very good - very much like a Browns chicken, creamy style -Broasted potato wedges: a little dry, not much flavor. Reminded me of a regular potato boiled and cut into fourths. Not spectacular, I'd probably try French fries next time. Conclusion: Over all the experience was good. The review speaks for itself. I ordered thru Grub Hub and 30 minutes after I ordered they cancelled my order. I called the restaurant and they blamed Grub Hub. My wife and I came to order our dinner and a few extra for later enjoyment. (Jan 13, about 1:15 pm) We haven't been for awhile so we thought it time to go back. What we wanted was: one 10 pc box of chicken two individual breasts two orders of the broasted potatoes The only exception to the order is that we don't care for thighs and asked to have the 3 thighs swapped out for legs/wings. I assumed there would be some kind of reasonable upcharge to the swap to the $16.50 box of chicken. However, this turned out to be calculated as a $35 dinner (about the price of a 20 pc box), As a line was forming and there wasn't any logic forming in the young lads heads making this determination, we took our leave. Not to worry though, for about $21 dollars we got our 20 pieces of chicken and a side of curly fries just down the block at Popeyes. This place has pretty much been here forever...and you can tell by the signage out front, like FOREVER, but don't let that fool you....it's a place you're going to want to try! We had take out from this place for Mother's Day Dinner... This isn't a place you eat at, it's pick up or delivery only. We got the Chicken, buns, and potatoes - both were very good! We had about a 20 minute wait on a Sunday night so that gave us plenty of time to just drive there as our food was ready to pick up when we arrived. We used to eat chicken from a franchise, But then I was invited to my nieces graduation party that had Chicken Inn. That was approximately 5 - 8 years ago. I've never went back to the franchise place they can't even compare to the quality of chicken from Chicken Inn.. The chicken is always fresh and hot, we always order more than we need because we like to make chicken salad with the left overs. Even if we don't make chicken salad with the leftovers from Chicken Inn, it stays juicy for a couple days after originally placing the order. I tell everyone I know if they want good quality chicken go to Chicken Inn. The staff is always friendly and the orders are always ready when they say they will be. Excellent option for a take-out fried chicken fix. The chicken was not greasy, and was very flavorful. The onion rings were really really good - i love taking a bite and actually getting some onion and some breading, and not the whole onion piece in one bite. This is a fantastic place for chicken. On the Northwest side (in a little strip mall at Milwaukee & Harlem), Chicken Inn has been around for a long time. Broasted chicken is what they do, and they do it better than any chicken place I've tried. It is crispy, moist and meaty. You can buy it by the piece. This is one crazy restaurant business that is an anomoly in the area...it is only delivery and take out...it is about chicken and a couple of other menu items but really just chicken. They don't pretend to be more than what they are. But he bottom line is that the chicken is absolutely delicious, and the consistency is remarkable. Never had a complaint. The delivery times are fast and always faster than suggested when ordering. One quirky element of the menu is that they offer a cheeseburger. Now, I don't know how this could possibly be, but these are damn good burgers. Put them above the national chain offerings. The cole slaw is that creamy version -- KFC-style. Love the breading and seasoning. It was not overly salty, and even tasted good cold next day. Last minute get together day after Christmas with out of town family. Staff at Chicken Inn very helpful because I called late on Friday before Holiday placed order for 30 pieces and they said no problem! Picked up on the 26th, they opened at 4 pm and the chicken was ready. Everyone really enjoyed it. The breasts are huge, and really juicy. The chicken here is on point. I've eaten here so many times and never have I been disappointed. You get it hot, the meat is juicy, and the skin has a nice crisp with a bit of seasoning too. This is a very small carry out place so call ahead for your order. If you want to feed a lot of people, they can make up to a 100 piece chicken order. Prices are reasonable for the quality and the service is pretty quick. Keep in mind that I only get chicken so I can't speak for the sides. Love this place! The fried mushrooms are to die for (they're healthy...right?). They only do catering and carry-out, but it has been a huge hit at any party I have ever hosted. Whenever I order Chicken Inn for parties, I am always complimented on the amazing food. The first time I came here over a year ago, had I wrote a review on Yelp, I would have given this place 4 stars; 1 star less for their location and parking. That said, the last two visits were forgettable; the first being I thought that the chicken was stale (perhaps because I came at around 3-4ish and I got the back-end of the lunch rush?), but no matter, as I enjoyed the chicken the first time I came here. Alas, the last time I was here, not only did the chicken taste stale, but I thought it was really greasy. Stale. Greasy. Can these two actually go together? I guess it can. Chicken Inn has always been our go to place for parties. We love their chicken, potatoes, and Coleslaw but this time we only enjoyed the chicken. Their broasted potatoes were over cooked and mushy.
