Still love this place! I pretty much hate chicken salad anywhere else but here. I absolutely love the variety here and have found some really awesome stuff here. I also really enjoy the fact that I can mix it up by eating it by itself or on a sandwich. I may even try some of the ones I haven't liked alone on a sandwich to see if I like it better that way. When you walk into the restaurant you immediately feel an inviting presence. The restaurant was decorated in a cheerful light and airy way that lifted your mood. Food is tasty, so no complaints there. However, the staff is very rude, surly, and unprofessional. I was nothing but pleasant with the cashier, but she was incredibly unpleasant. After she helped me, she went back to leaning against the wall with one of her co-workers so that they could chat. I don't like to be treated this poorly (and I would never dream of treating a customer of mine this way), so I guess I'll just not return. If they don't fix the customer service, they aren't going to have any more customers, even if the food is tasty. read more

Walk in stood there, watched a counter person walk back and forth, and then just stand at the register, after an awkward silence I walked over asked if she was open?, she whispered yes so I ordered my food and waited and waited, finally went to the counter and she asked if this was my order??, don't you know??, and then to top it off they where out of crackers. read more

This has got to be one of the worst places I've worked in my life. The distract manager is one of the nastiest people I've worked with. My friend quit do to her being a punching bag and being treated like nothing, her mental health was destroyed so bad when she left she didn't talk to anyone for days. She told me she was talked to like she wasn't a human and was told who she should and shouldn't talk to due to the color of their skin a situations in life. I was forced to quit because the district manager didn't like me and I never even spoke to her while working there because she only talked to certain people (white). She tried to have me written up for nothing my manager knew she was wrong and called Human Resources to see what to do because she said it wasn't right. The sad thing is I actually loved my job but I was tired of being picked on for no reason. read more

My go-to lunch place whenever I'm in the area. My favorite is the fancy nancy. My bf tries a different flavor everytime & enjoys it everytime. The workers here and super nice & helpful. This restaurant is delicious! Who in the south doesn't like chicken salad? Chicken salad is my most favorite salad, I could live on a diet of chicken salad and pizza. Chicken Salad Chick did not disappoint; I ordered the Olivia's Old South BLT. Can I say OMG! Then as a side they let you pick another chicken salad flavor, I chose Classic Carol. It was great too. They have 12 chicken salad flavors to choose from, pimento cheese, soups and salads. The service was fast, however there was a line when left, but it was moving quickly. If you're in East Memphis, or travel from Collierville like I did, this is a must stop for a good chicken salad. Oh, and they give you a cookie too. read more

Yummy Yummy! My first visit to the place and I ordered the Fancy Nancy, I like grapes and apples in my chicken salad! The chicken Salad is really good! Great consistency and flavorful. Not to much mayonnaise. I got mine to go on a croissant, that wasn't my favorite. Bread was kind of hard like it's frozen and thawed not fresh. Next time I'll try it with crackers or toasted bread. It comes with a side which gives you the chance to try other things which is nice. They have egg salad, pimento cheeses and a variety of chicken salads. So if you don't like fruit in yours you can get the traditional chicken salad. They also have soups. Came with a cute little cookie that was very sweet and a nice little treat at the end! read more

This place was pretty crowded when I walked in. It took about 10-15 min to get through the line. I placed an order for a Sassy Scotty sandwich with a side of Fancy Nancy. Both were great and flavorful. The cookie that comes with the meal is outstanding and I wanted to go back buy a dozen (I am a sugar addict). All in all, I would gladly come back and grab lunch. What a great, quiet solo lunch I had. I was stuffed for only 8.99. I had broccoli cheddar soup with crackers, chicken salad on a croissant with a juicy tomato and fresh lettuce. All with a pickle wedge on the side and a delicious cookie for dessert! Even before our current terrible economy, I'd say it's a good deal. The staff were all friendly and looked happy at their jobs. They had over 99 on their sanitation score. Comfortable and roomy seating. I wish I had more good things to say. I'll definitely go back, next time my nieces visit, since they have a few good items on the children's menu, even for picky eaters. AND COOKIES, yay! read more

Amazing fresh food, great customer service. Went in today for lunch but forgot my wallet so I tried using the tap to pay with my phone, but when it wasn't working, I told them I'd have my husband come and pick it up. This is my second eating experience but my 1st time at this location. I got 2scoops and made a sandwich. I had provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato and a pickle spear, wit a little mayo. Can u say, delicious? A side of plain chips n thats lunch. Yes, I like the variety of chicken salad flavors. The green n white decor is light and airy. I had been buying the small containers for my mom who recently had brain surgery- she LOVES it. We are expecting icy weather the next few days so I wanted a BIG container- well they didn't have any. A nice brunette lady with awesome tats said she'd fix me one! GREAT! As I looked in the kitchen I noticed she did several things with the container in hand before putting the chicken salad in it. Two big containers emerged from the kitchen-one which she instructed the cashier to put in a bag for me and one to put in the lobby display for sale. I asked the cashier to switch mine out for the lobby container- it honestly had more in it. As the cashier attempted to put the one I was given in the display case she was quickly told to remove it. Maybe Im paranoid but what was wrong with the one put in my bag? Why could it not go in the display case for sale? I never touched it-the cashier switched it out. All I know is I don't feel comfortable giving the chicken salad to my mom nor will I ever go to this location again. I was excited to get a $15 container of chicken salad but left very disappointed-especially for my mom. read more

This place was really tasty! They have a huge selection of chicken salads to choose from and allow you to taste a sample before deciding. I can't remember the name of the one I decided on but it was spicy with jalapeños mixed in. There was a really good one with grapes that I will probably get next time. You can choose the type of bread you want and it also comes with a side plus a cookie. The price was $7.99 I believe although I paid extra for the seasonal salad. The customer service was excellent and the cashier took the time to walk me through the menu and give recommendations since it was my first time here. They were also very quick. See that beautiful piece of toast? It's only toasted on one side making it "half toast, half bread". Chicken salad on bread is not my idea of "on toast". (My preference). Had the "Fancy Nancy" because I like nuts and grapes in my CSS. It was slightly better than okay, but not mind blowing, same with cheddar broccoli soup. Next time I will ask for "both sides toasted" toast. Maybe the young attendant was wrong when she said "that's just the way we do it". We'll see, ...would like to try it without soggy bread. read more

Great Taste PLUS: (TIP) - Get a 2nd scoop as a Side My wife and I had heard about Chicken Salad Chick for awhile, but hadn't had time to try them out. We missed out. Our family went for dinner before seeing "A Christmas Carol" at Theatre Memphis this past season. Great food. They may tell you, but here's a great tip. You can actually get a 2nd Scoop of Chicken Salad AS one of your Sides! My wife and I both opted for the Fancy Nancy. I then went further and added the Buffalo Barclay as one of my sides. Both flavors were very tasty and quite good. If you haven't been yet, stop putting it off. Treat yourself to some great Chicken Salad. read more

I love Chicken Salad Chick, it's somewhere I don't go often but I know that they are pretty good whenever I have the craving for chicken salad. I went today for a quick early dinner and got it to go and as I was eating it, I found a literal penny in the middle of the buffalo chicken salad. Hair? I get it. I ordered 5 sandwiches and they kept putting them in the system wrong. Then we waited for about 20 minutes and they tell us they lost are ticket. When I got home I realized I only had 2 out of 5 sandwiches so when I walked back in there they told me they forgot the other ones and didn't even apologized. So amazing. No one can come here and find something they don't love. There's something for everyone. There's so many different flavors, but even if you don't like chicken, there's so much more that is so good. It's just perfect every-time. On top of that,the employees are also some of the sweetest, kindest people I have ever met. OMG!!! My wife told me about this place a few months ago as she and her sister tore down on it in Dallas. She said it was liiiiiiit!! (not her exact words). So last Saturday the fam grabbed lunch here (it was very busy). The line moved very fast and the place was packed. They're going to need to expand soon to handle the lunch crowd IMO. We managed to find a table, however. The food was delish! I had the chicken salad this time, but want to try the pimento cheese next time. I had the Dixie Chick style sandwich on a croissant and a scoop of the Fancy Nancy style on the side. Both were fresh and very flavorful. I also had a side order of the broccoli salad with shredded cheese, bacon and sweet vinaigrette dressing. I could have eaten two bowls of the broccoli it was so good. I love the décor; the service was fast and friendly; and the atmosphere was fun and lively. I highly recommend this place and we WILL be back. read more

I'm in love with a woman and her name is Chicken Salad Chick! I was skeptical at first, I mean how do you have an entire restaurant based on chicken salad ha! ha! ha! hmmm... I ordered the lemon basil chicken salad on a bed of salad, the absolute only way I like my chicken or tuna salad. The salad greens were very fresh and the chicken salad was so good I didn't need salad dressing. I love soups and one of my favs is tomato. It was creamy, flavorful and had chunks of tomato just the way I like it. I wonder if they make it in-house? Lastly, I don't usually talk about beverages because I try to always do water, but I was curious about their lemonade and iced tea. I love when a restaurant offers sweet, unsweet tea and lemonade. I was able to make my VIP my way, so of course I have no complaints. My prayer for my new found love is that she stays consistent, fresh and flavorful. read more

Got lots of chicken salad and spicy pimento cheese to go with some butter cheese frosted cookies. This is good stuff. Hey get a $5 donation card and get over $60 worth of free stuff every month I hot a large $11.99;bbq chicken salad today for free. Good food for a great cause. I have now tried the fruity Fran chicken salad and it is very good but I added some walnut pieces to make it perfect for my pallet. I also really like the spicy pimento cheese, it is spicy but not hot and really cheesy and perfect on bread plain or toasted. It's 6.99 for a small container or 11.99 for a large which is the same price for all the chicken salad and other to go offerings. The barbecue chicken salad has a unique flavor and very much represents the bbq claim and I enjoyed it plain but also would hold up with adding lettuce and tomato as well as a great addition to a salad. The restaurant is simple but very clean and bright and all of the people I met were very nice and helpful. I will be making lots more trips for take out, for certain, but am looking forward to my next visit for a dine-in. read more

Okay first I want to say I love how many options are available. The chick is super affordable and gives you so so so much food. I only gave 2 stars because the staff is so hit or miss. I don't mind having to wait. I went in to pick up an order and saw it was not ready (which was fine). Once it was ready it (I saw it) no one handed it to me. I was still fine to wait. They helped 6 people order and they even received their food (after my food was ready). This time when the woman asked for the next person in line I walked up to the counter and said "actually I've been waiting on my food that is ready. Could you hand it to me?" And she said "I'm actually going to help the man who is in line but I'll get my manager to check on that for you". She was super dismissive and rude. I don't know why they wouldn't just give me my food that was ready lol. Service at this location is either great or annoying. I would still recommend you go there! It just seems like the staff is frequently petty, confused, or rude. It's more of an inconvenience than a reason not to eat there but I thought I'd share my experience. read more

I also thought the charcuterie appetizer had a weird mix of items on it from club crackers, to meat and cheese, and random veggies. Not bad but just kind of a weird mix. My husband ordered the salmon and he said it was good, not the best he's had but it was good. Other friends of ours got the white fish among the many other dishes. I did have a salad with these apples on it which was incredibly yummy. I will say though my dish looked amazing some of the other dishes were not plated well. Not to nitpick but to want to be considered a more upscale restaurant which means charging guest more money than say a local Applebee's then knowing how to appropriately garnish or drizzle sauce to elevate at plate is important (see my picture of the chicken dish). All and all not my favorite restaurant but definitely not the worst!!

There is plenty of parking in a lot across the street. We went inside and found it to be pretty busy, but we got a table for 4 quickly. The place was clean and homey-feeling and I loved the fact that they used disposable plates, utensils and napkins! It is probably way easier on the crew to clean up, and it adds to the relaxed atmosphere. I had the corn nuggets to start, yum! We finished them easily, they were so good. Then the entree of my chicken tenders, beans, and Mac and cheese came out, along with my sweet tea. The sweet tea was perfect, I drank a whole one during my meal and they gave me another to go in the souvenir Gus's cup. The food was just great, chicken was juicy and perfectly crunchy on the outside. Beans and Mac and cheese, delicious! I ate all of it even though I was stuffed. I even went so far as to order a piece of pecan pie for dessert, but unfortunately our server came back out to tell us they were out of it! Guess it wasn't meant to be (this time)! Our server was really friendly during our whole meal, chatted with us a little and made sure we had a great experience! Bottom line.... Go to Gus's!

I wasn't really a fan of the mac and cheese, as it leaned way too heavily on the processed cheese flavor and ended up overly cheesy in a not-so-great way. The texture and taste reminded me more of melted processed cheese than a rich, homemade mac and cheese. However, the service was delightful and easily made up for some of the disappointment with the sides. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcomed throughout the visit. While not everything hit the mark for me, the great service and tasty fried chicken make Gus's worth trying if you're in the mood for comfort food.

I had the small order of ribs with 1/2 dry and 1/2 wet with sides of BBQ Beans and Mac n Cheese. I tried the pulled pork and it was tender and delicious. My ribs were pretty good with my favorite part being the wet ribs. The dry part was overcooked and really dry and chewy. This was a bit of a disappointment. The BBQ beans were flavorful but a bit mushy. The Mac n cheese also mushy a bit but tasted better than it looked. I love great BBQ so I like Central BBQ but may have caught them on a bad day. Oh, they were out of a lot of T Shirt options/size I wanted too. Darn. I wanted to buy one. I would return and try the brisket, pulled pork or poultry items next time.

I ordered wings and two dry slabs of ribs. When my family and I finally decided to eat the ribs on Monday, they were disgusting. They had seasoning caked all on them, and they were overly salty. We wiped off the caked-on seasoning and tried to eat around the saltiness. I was praying the 2nd slab was not the same. When I opened them on 5/27 to see, they were the same. I was trying to avoid calling because I just didn't feel like being bothered. But I called. I left a message for the manager to return my call that morning because "he is in the middle of an interview." So I called back that afternoon and was transferred to Ethan. I explained the situation to him. As I was speaking, he kept making the noise un-huh. So, I stopped talking and asked him what it meant aside from it just being rude as hell. He went on to explain that they missed a step and did not rub in the seasoning and shake it off. I don't care. It's an internal quality issue that should be handled with the prep and cook staff. Not me. He asked if I had my receipt and, in a tone that suggested he was doing me a favor, advised me that he would replace the slab. No apologies for the inconvenience or anything. After my long workday, I went all the way downtown to get the slab replaced. In person, Ethan is just as rude. I asked if he was going to replace both slabs. He could clearly see the quality was trash. He said no and that he would only replace one. Then went on to offer me sides and a slice of cake. No, thank you. I can afford sides and cake just like I did those trash slabs of ribs. Those slabs of ribs cost $62.40 before taxes. With taxes probably being another 5 or 6 dollars. Your mistakes and poor quality should not cost me. He had a young lady bring the replacement slab back out to me. She didn't say thank you or anything. One thing I know is that a white man or woman patronizing your business would not have been treated this way. As a result, moving forward I will spend my Black woman dollars elsewhere on barbeque and smoked chicken wings. Also, I removed you all from my company's approved catering list where we spend a nice amount with you all yearly. Tell Ethan, thanks for helping me see the light and not spend money where I'm not respected and where my customer experience isn't valued.
