In the past, I have had hearing aids and so I have comparison information and thought that I knew what to expect. But there was no way that I imagined the outstanding care that I would get from the kind and efficient staff at Gold Country Hearing! When I went in for my hearing test, they had already checked with my insurer so that they could tell me what would be covered and what I could expect to pay. I had a very small co-pay for the top of the line technology and I was delighted that I didn't have to call and check on my insurance, it was already done for me! They spent a lot of time with me, explaining things and testing my hearing; they asked me about what was most important for my hearing and my lifestyle. The audiologist was so professional and knowledgeable that I felt very secure with her recommendations. When I had questions she patiently answered them in great detail. Nothing was left unexplained. My hearing aids arrived in about a week and I went back to have the fitting. They explained more things to me, including how my hearing aids can be hooked up through Bluetooth to my telephone or television! She even GAVE me the Bluetooth unit. They have me come back to review things and make sure that I have everything I need and if my hearing aids need any adjustments, they gladly do that on my visit. I even get free hearing aid batteries! Seriously amazing care and service here. If you suffer from hearing loss, you owe it to yourself to visit Gold Country Hearing. Hearing aids were ordered and after they were installed and adjusted accordingly, I could hear sounds I had taken for granted. At my age, my hearing had declined and that is something nobody wants to know or hear, if you can hear! The science and technology for the most recent hearing devices are amazing. What sounds you cannot hear for hearing loss, are sound waves which get picked up by the technology from the devices which turn the sound waves into something you can actually hear. I was very happy to receive my hearing aids because I could hear noises as sounds which my hearing loss could not pick up. So I could say I was pretty close to losing a portion of my hearing for many sounds which I could not hear. It is hard to put into words how happy I am to be able to hear as well as the hearing aids are specifically tuned for helping my hearing problem. Sound waves come in different frequencies and with hearing loss we tend to lose the ability to translate the vibrations of noise into sounds which are translated through the electronic ear devices or hearing aids, whatever you want to call them.I never thought I had a problem until I got tested. I still wasn't sold totally by the graphs I saw,which were taken through test given by Matthew McGaffick, the hearing instrument specialist. "Matt", was very informative and detailed the explanations to help me understand the condition of my hearing and the loss I was experiencing. It's hard to say what you can't hear if you can't hear or see what directions to pay attention towards?!? Yes, that is kind of a puzzling statement but the true value of having electronic devices, are amazing! Now, being able to hear a sound and know which direction it's coming from, does not have to be in your line of sight now that you can hear all around you! Imagine that!I got my hearing back!!!! Right now I am going back with shorter appointment times,trying to tune in my hearing aids as I wear them for a while,go back to an appointment for fine tuning or adjustment, just to get the best sounds possible until I don't have to come back again. I don't want to hear people two blocks away. I want to hear the sounds I have been missing! That is my point. I want to hear sounds I have been missing. The hearing devices, instruments, or hearing aids that I wear now, are the best I have come to know for anything about hearing aids. Another words, they work for me. I can't tell you the difference between a 1956 hearing aid or a Ferrari hearing aid. The point is, to hear the sounds you have been gradually declining in and missing. If you do not go in to get a test, at least a test, to see by testing given, that will be specific to your hearings. Matt will test you and give you the results you need.One graph that measures the right ear and one graph that measures the left. You would be surprised to know what you can't hear after the test results are given to you. What you have been missing may surprise you. I definitely recommend calling their office and talking to Veronica Martin, the office manager. Both people are professional and very kind. Both are considerate, knowing exactly their job description and what you, the customer, needs to get done. All you have to do is add your ears to an appointment,with that, it will either show that you have hearing problems or that you are fine. How will you know if you don't get a test? You owe that to your hearing as I am saying it with a matter of experience which has made me happy, happier than I had expected for results from the test. You don't need a hearing aid to read this Yelp posting. You just have to read this post I am putting up because hearing is one of the five senses you have in your life. My regular doctor tried clearing it, but was only partially successful. My regular doctor told me to use the ear wax drops, not telling me that the drops only soften the ear wax, but don't remove it from the ear. Two weeks later, when my ear was still blocked, I went to Audiology Associates for help. They did a great job clearing my blocked ear. While they were at it they went ahead and cleared out my left ear. I left there with hearing better than I had in years.
