Chihuas Tacos was phenomenal! We stopped here about 2:30 PM on a random Wednesday and everything from the service, atmosphere, and food/drinks were delicious. I ordered a Margarita OTR, Birria Tacos, and chips/queso. My girlfriend ordered 3 Carne Asade Tacos with an Elote cup, also with a margarita OTR. The server who took our order, Toni (Master Chef), was the only one in the shop that we could see -- he took our order, cooked our (and every other guest before us order), served us each as individual items came up, and ensured quality service. Mr. Toni is an excellent cook and host. I told my girlfriend, "these are the best Birria Tacos I have ever had" and I eat Birria Tacos A LOT. My girlfriend kept going on-and-on about her street tacos. We are leaving the area to head back home in a couple of days and we will be back before we leave! The prices are more than fair and the staff is unreal. The food is decent but WAY overpriced. If you're on the beach, great. If you're not on the beach, there are many restaurants with better options & better prices. The queso is basically cheese sauce from 7-11. The refried beans are decent but salty & black beans, not pinto. The salsa, they charged us $1 each for sides that were so small it was like a 1/4 tsp. Burritos were decent but not much in them. Same experience with the quesadilla.... This place is way overpriced & not very exciting. If you're on the beach & hungry.. it may be a decent option. I have celiac disease. I asked the cook if the birria tacos were gluten free. He said yes. I watched the cook prepare our food. When the cook poured the birria taco sauce into the styro cup I seen him wipe the sauce that was dripping with his finger and then lick his finger. Gross. We took our food back to our room. I ate 1 taco and didn't touch the styro. Following day I was extremely sick and had all symptoms of cross contamination. read more
