Ok Chilis.... the place of my youth. I love the nostalgia and our server was SO SWEET and wonderful, she was managing I think while also serving a TON of tables. She was a rockstar and the service here is always really good! The food however is awful. Just hate eating here, it doesn't ever feel clean in this place lol. The menus need to be sanitized, there always feels like there is a film on them. I am glad I was able to use a gift card :) The food always hurts me the next day, rest of my group said the same. I feel bad leaving such a low rating, as the service is really good. My wife and her friends meet for lunch here every couple weeks, sit at the bar and appreciate the service. Sometimes I come along. Today was one of those days, and I did something I haven't done in a long time: I left because the music (two different sets playing - warbly off-brand Christmas stuff in the bar and cheesy Eighties pop in the main area - both audible) was so horrible. After ten minutes of it I thought, "I'm going to hate life if I stay here," and I left. Anyway, here are some things I've noticed from multiple previous visits. 1) The service is uniformly great; you're welcomed and seated right away and the servers and bartenders are friendly and totally on-it. (We always happily overtip.) 2) The place never feels clean (I've been visiting for almost five years) - the little horrible touch-screen menus are sticky, the floor tiles always have that greasy-slide/stickiness that I remember from when I was briefly a cook at a Dairy Queen in the early Eighties (the floor needs to be mopped very seriously with a grease cutter to get rid of the feel), the restroom varies on a spectrum between barely okay and outright gross. 3) The music is horrible and played too loud. 4) The burgers (and their fries and side salads) are actually pretty okay for a chain sit-down place, as are their prices. The real issues seem to be management issues: fix the music (one type in the building so patrons don't have _two_ awful songs competing for attention, lower the volume - we didn't come here to hear your music, we came to eat lunch and chat) and clean the place up. I'm not a fan of sit-down chains for the most part, but Chili's seems to be a decent one as they go - however, this particular store could really use a deep clean as well as ongoing attention to that aspect of service. Great job on the servers themselves, though, and the kitchen seems on-it. I'm likely to give it another shot one of these days, but . . . ugh. Not a good visit today. I'm glad I left and as soon as I post this I'm going to head out to a local place to grab a burger. The place will be clean and the burger will be both cheaper and better than the one I would have had with my wife's friends at this Chili's outlet. We'll see how the music is . . . read more

We've now had 2 super disappointing visits to this location. The first visit the food was awful. My burger was way overcooked and the bacon on it tasted disgusting. I sent it back letting the server know it was inedible. She didn't offer an alternative nor was it removed from our bill. We got the sense of being rushed so we didn't bother with it. The second visit was with just my husband and the kids because I didn't want to go back. They again felt rushed and my husband didn't even feel comfortable ordering and watched while our kids ate. He is too nice and non confrontational, so I attempted to call the restaurant to speak to the manager and he unpromisingly told me he'd check in on them. They were never checked on so they paid and left. We will not be back. Super disappointed. read more

It's come a long way baby! I use to go to the "original" Chilis back in Dallas, TX on Greenville Ave. in an old wooden house. It was all about chili burgers, chili soft tacos, bowl of chili, etc w pictures of Teralingua, Tx around us. A limited menu w beer as their only liquor drink back then. Sooo much has changed since those humble days! Tonite I got the 6oz sirloin dinner & shrimp w mashed potatoes & broccoli. I had a Happy Hour margarita before dinner. It was all very good. My server, Amanda was still excellent even though it got busy. Lots of ppl in the bar area watching the football games and having a good time. Just good ol American food when you gotta have it. We've been here twice now and this location is nice. I wanted to 3 for $10 ( includes drink, appetizer and entree) and ordered the burger, with black bean patty , no bacon , salad and fries are included. I like how they grill and serve it BUT my epiphany was yesterday when I asked about burger sauces they have since mayo is too plain. They used to have a "secret sauce" but sadly stopped serving it a few years ago. Our server was really pleasant and told me about them all and I chose the Santa Fe sauce. BINGO! It's really flavorful and it made my burger so much more tastey. Why did I not ask about them before? I didn't finish my fries but that burger sure made my day. There's a bar but we didn't order an adult beverage today and there's outdoor seating. Unfortunately it's too hot to use now and wasn't set up. I'll be back. read more

We both had salads that were very fresh and well presented. The restaurant has been upgraded since we were there last so the ambiance was warm and welcoming. All I got was a "bowl" of chili. It was about 7oz. It was just meat and so salty that it was inedible. I'm not very picky, especially when I'm very hungry (which I was), and I HATE throwing away food so I'll usually eat something even if I don't like it, but I had to throw it away. I ordered the Triple Dipper appetizer. For that I ordered Southwest Egg Rolls and double order of Boneless Buffalo Wings. Instead of the egg rolls I received the one item I hate the most...those darn hamburger sliders. Not even with cheese (what?!?). And to add insult to injury...I asked for all blue cheese and received ONLY ranch. Like come on people! I was looking forward to those egg rolls all day. I'm so freakin sad. I have to totally disagree with any negative votes! We have had take out 2 times in the last week! Both times the food was very good, and the curb service was excellent! The first time we ordered chicken strips, corn on the cob and an onion blossom. All delish! The second time it was hamburger and a small steak. Fries and a salad on the side! All our food was still hot when we got home (about 3-1/2 miles) and our bellies were content and full. Thank you Chile's on Paseo! We will be coming around very soon! read more

Really, really.....bad experience. I love Chili's! But this place? This was the worst Chili's experience I've ever had, and my server Kaitlin was one of the worst I've ever had. I was really surprised since it's in such a gorgeous, nice part of Albuquerque. Things started out ok but after delivering my food Kaitlin never checked on me again until it was time to pay. I had to keep asking the sweet host Maya for things I needed. I've never been to a Chili's anywhere where the server doesn't at least come by once to see if you need anything, such as a drink refill. I don't know what her problem was. The flippant, annoyed attitude was just wrong. No smile or welcoming demeanor either. Had two great meals here again last night. Smokehouse Platter (sausage, ribs and brisket quesadilla) and the 3 for $10.99 (Cajun Chicken Alfredo, side salad and a drink). Their menu is well balanced I think. There looks to be something for everybody on it. Our server was Alexander and he made us feel like he was glad we were there!! Imaging that. He was fun and personable. Another server, Amanda, helped us figure out our bill because we had a quick question. She also with an attitude of "so nice to see you tonight". We walked in toward the end of the night and was sat in the bar area. We were greeted by our server Alex, who was very excited. She told us about their specials and got our drink and appetizer order right away. The fried pickles had a nice crunch and had a wonderful vinegar tang. Soon after, our entrees came out and the presentation was very appealing. Our steak was cooked perfectly to the medium rare requested and the burger had explosions of flavor. Our sides were nice and hot and had the quality to follow. Alex came around to make sure everything was going well and we were very pleased. We frequently dine at Chili's and prefer this location or the one by Cottonwood. Restaurant seems clean but could use some TLC. We were a little early for dinner, 3:30 and were seated (in the bar area) promptly and greeted by our server soon after. We usually go for the 3for10 menu as the value cannot be beat. There is a August special including the 6oz steak on the 3for10, even a better value. The Wife got the chicken crispers as usual. The soup starters came out timely and were both excellent, followed soon after with our entrees. Unfortunately the medium steak was quite rare, server came by shortly and I asked if they could throw it back on the grill for a minute or two. He informed us that due to covid they have to start over :-(. I hate to do that but it was a little too rare for me so I agreed. A new "medium " arrived shortly with apologies. I had wanted to place a to-go order for mushroom jack fajitas (mushroom, -layer bar chicken, bacon, jack cheeses) and a paradise pie (like a 7 layer bar with proceeds going towards St. Jude's). I had originally ordered online at the Gibson location two days ago. I called today to cancel my order, as I would be driving by the Paseo location. They had no record of my order. Anyways, fast forward. I placed my order at the Paseo location and went to pick it up. Quick and not too busy. I hadn't realized when you ordered to go that you get a "deconstructed" meal (ice cream, nuts, and toppings completely separate from the paradise pie), but it is what it is. The only thing was that there was an old menu on the counter advertising the mushroom jack fajitas on the 3 for $10 menu and had mentioned it to the manager on duty. He said that was an old menu, but didn't offer any price consolation for the gaffe. The fajitas smelled amazing though and I almost gobbled them up right then and there in my car. Wow, wow, wow.. I always hear others talk down about Chili's but I'm honestly floored. My boyfriend and I stopped by for dinner and were pleasantly surprised to find the the bartender was VERY attentive, personable and had a great sense of humor. The people whom we dined with in the bar area all seemed like regulars who treated one another like family and the staff even knew some people on a first name basis! Hunger will make you do dumb things, like going to this Chilli's. We were in the neighborhood and starving, so we thought, "What the heck? Let's give them a try." It turned out to be a foolish mistake. First of all, where was the hostess? We had to wait 5-minutes before even being greeted at the door. She finally arrived and seated us, but at a filthy table. I had to ask for it to be wiped down. Our waiter then took 10-minutes to greet us. So, in the meantime, we had plenty of time to review their menu. When he finally arrived, we had already known our drink and meal selection. We ordered everything all at once. He then disappeared for 20-minutes. Still no drinks, no water, no silverware, no nothing! I had to walk back by the kitchen area to flag him down, asking him to serve us our drinks--again! He apologized, but it was a sad excuse, because after I complained, our food suddenly appeared. Why the massive delays in service, but then when you get angry, magically things get done? I hate that! It makes me feel like a jerk even though it's the restaurant that has the poor service! So, by then we were irritated and just wanted our bill, for which I also had to flag him down. As we were waiting for our bill, I overheard the table behind us complaining to the manager. A customer refused to accept the desert they brought to his table. He said, "I don't want that. We waited 45-minutes for this bowl of ice-cream!" He then demanded it to be taken off of his bill. On the other side of us, a different family sat down and I observed them waiting an eternity for the same crappy service, as we waited forever to pay. The worst experience I've had at a Chilis! It took 1 hour 45 minutes to get dessert. Trying to ask for the check shortly after was like pulling teeth. Our water was never refilled and the ladies' restroom was filthy (toilets do not flush). Even as the night was dwindling down, none of the empty tables around us were being cleaned off. The long table by us took a half hour to be cleared. The entire service was as passive aggressive as it can get. The waitress pretended like nothing was wrong. I was pretty happy with the food and service at this location. Went here with a female. Ordered Fried Pickles, the sirloin steak and then desert. Everything was great. The fried pickles were nice and hot (almost as good as Texas Roadhouses). The steak was a little less pink than I like, but it was still delicious. I wish I could remember our servers name. Monday, 2pm. Ordered a rib eye and steak fajitas. The fajitas were absolutely flavorless. The onions and bell peppers didn't even have a good flavor. The guac was made from unripe avocados. You know that flavor, right? Not good. The "well-marbled" steak was not marbled and definitely not seasoned except for the butter topping. What happened, Chili's? Are you the new Applebees? You are almost there. The chips on the other hand were very good. Hot, thin, crispy. They were the highlight of the meal. The end of a sad lunch story. The difference is like night and day. We placed our order for two Santa fe burgers, 30 minutes later or burgers came out burnt to a crisp I felt bad returning them and they went ahead and ate some of it I left 90 % of it. Stopped by to pick up a Togo order. I ordered the Classic Ribeye - Medium Rare. I get home to find out that I did not receive what I ordered. Instead I get a Sirlion cooked to Medium/Medium Well.
