I had an order to go and Uber eats picked it up. It was picked up and delivered immediately. I watched that but my soup is cold and salty and I'm pretty sure that my bowl of soup did not fit in the small paper container. It's soup. It should have been a bowl of soup much larger than the tiny container I was given. The cheese sticks were steamed and not crunchy or delicious like they usually are. The marinara sauce was not even a third full . I do not know what my son's quesadilla turned out like as I am in bed sick, which is why I ordered this because it's the only thing I could find delivered that is similar to chicken tortilla Soup

They don't have quite the selection of the other place, but the food is very good. My only criticism would be. There was not much in the way of carrots left by the time we got there on Sunday and they put the guacamole on the chips instead of giving it to you on the side. So the chips got sort of soggy by the time we got home. I will definitely have the shrimp tacos again. It was delicious and my son was very pleased with his Carne Asada tacos with guacamole. We also had a Carne Asada quesadilla and the famous chips with the guacamole already on them. Everything tasted very good. The inside is not anything fancy, but there's a few seats and there's a salsa bar with really nice salsa, limes, and if you can go when they are not out of carrots, there are carrots. I wished that their pickled carrots had more garlic in them. So I guess that would be my second criticism or more of a suggestion. The people there are very nice and if you can find the place you should go.

My husband got the Birria tacos and consume. I had those last time he had them this time they are amazing super flavorful. I switched it up this time and got the enchilada trio. When they walked up with the plate I was in shock the plate was three times the size of my head. Those may have been the best enchiladas I've ever had. I'm very picky with my sauces. Trying enchiladas are always a staple for me that determines a restaurant for me. I usually like a darker red sauce. It was a little orange and surprisingly very pleasant very flavorful first time I've ever liked an orange sauce. The creamy white sauce was so flavorful and might've been my favorite enchilada. I've never been a green sauce girly but there's is absolutely delicious. The rice was a little bland for me but the beans were delicious. Our service was very attentive and food came out quick. I love the ambience there. Everything is wood lots of things to look at very laid-back and very welcominga bit western too . I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in town at Payson!

Ok so I was so excited to go here. There is something really comforting about a tamale done right!…read moreThe glowing reviews and pictures seemed promising. The restaurant itself has a lot of character, it full of textures and colors, had a cute little fountain outside. It just feels homey and welcoming. The menu...is hella pricey for a tamale. I mean even with inflation these days I could get a tamale at most spots where I live for like half the price. I just told myself it's Sedona just except it lol so I went wild and got their extra special tamale with lots of topping to make it a more complete meal. I chose the chicken mole for my filling. I also got their dairy free horchata. First thing the horchata was delicious! Creamy, great texture, not to sweet, seasoned just right. Extra points for being dairy free as milk is not my bodies friend. The tamale however was a major let down. I was so close to just sending it back, but was on a time crunch and starving. The masa was so salty. The mole sauce was barely existent and had no complexity or flavor really. I didn't taste the chocolate or the Chile . Just blah. The toppings and horchata helped make it possible to consume despite the saltiness. So overpriced salty tamale gets 2 stars, ambiance 5, and horchata 5, which is why this place gets a three stars overall. I wanted to love this spot so bad, and maybe it was a bad day, or the wrong thing to get...but their name is literally tamaliza. Their tamale should have rocked my world.

Was unable to previously because they were already on their vacation last year for July 4th weekend. Luckily we were able to catch them before they went on vacation this July 4th weekend (Closed July 5th - 21st, 2026). Althought they OPEN at 5pm, they allow you to call in for pick-up orders starting at 3pm. Between the 4 of us, we had ordered a variety of items --Botanas (Snack)-- ELOTE - fire roasted corn with spicy mayo, lime, and cotija cheese Decent sized bowl of juicy, flavorful corn mixed with creamy mayo and cotija cheese topped with some lime juice. PERFECT snack with included chips (or your own chips). I ordered 2 of these because im a piggy and i just heard that its yummy .... PORK BELLY TACOS (2) - Slow roasted house cured pork belly with mango arbol salsa Surprisingly LARGE slab of pork belly topped with a nice bright mango salsa, cilanto, and shards of radish with a sice of pickled onions. Did NOT feel heavy/fatty at all. Their tortillas are nice and soft as well --Platos Fuertes (Main Courses)-- served with rice & refried black beans LAMB ADOBO - braised Superior Farms lamb shank served with a robust ancho chile sauce HUGE lamb shank with a deep roasted chile sauce, also topped with pico de gallo and their pickled onions. Had a very NICE lamb flavor. Meat was falling off the bone. Went amazing with the included rice and beans. If you had small tortillas, can make little wraps with it too ! SMOKED BRISKET ENCHILADAS - 14 hour smoked Prime Niman Ranch brisket with roasted tomato chipotle sauce and crema Deliciously fatty and tender brisket drenched in that tomato chipotle sauce, crema, pickled onions, and sour cream. Only took a bite of this but was delicous SHRIMP AND PORK BELLY - Grilled wild Mexican shirmp with slow roasted pork belly with arbol salsa and cilantro crema The ONLY dish we didn't get to "try". Friend had ordered this for himself and requested the sauce on the side. He said the shrimp was delicious in comparison to the pork belly. Id assume its probably similar/same pork belly as the previous pork belly tacos. The shrimp looked quite large though ! DUCK CARNITAS - Slow roasted duck served with pasilla chile sauce and guacamole Yummy roasted duck with chile sauce, good amount of guacamole and a ton of various veggies, pico and fresh jalepeno. Weirdly the duck wasn't in slices but all sorts of varying sizes. There were some good pieces on top but lots of small pieces hiding around. Elote Cafe offerings ARE on a pricier side BUT they are ALL delicious. It is actually kind of DIFFICULT to find a GOOD restaurant in Sedona, weirdly. Would definitely eat here again in the future, if i come back to Sedona
