It is directly on the water front, shops, restaurants, and cafes are all at your fingertips... it's a matter of choosing what you want to do, where you want to eat, or grab a drink. It is also located right next to the famous castle of Thun which we could see from our bedroom window. It was pricey but it was a splurge for our family. The service was amazing, the location superb. We were able to park behind the hotel even though the parking lot was full, otherwise we would have had to take our car to the public lot several blocks away. Farmer's Market greeted us in the center square as we checked out. This was a wonderful surprise as we were able to get fresh flowers, cheeses, produce, etc. for our continuing trip to Beatenberg. Yes it is expensive, but it was worth it. Delightful breakfast is included with your stay and given how expensive everything is in Switzerland, the meal would cost approx 70fr. for 4. It makes me feel like we got a deal. : )

Not to mention the amazing staff and great breakfast offered in the morning! The view from the room is absolutely stunning at night and during the day! You can literally see the entire town. The room was equipped with everything from fancy coffee maker to complimentary fridge filled with beverages! The place is a dream come true and we honestly can't wait to go back! The walk to get to the castle is harsh because you have to park down the hill but they are SO ACCOMMODATING and let you unload your luggage and leave it at the top. It's a truly magical experience that you will never forget! Everything was wonderful! In the morning for your complimentary breakfast they ask if you want some nice warm eggs it's just perfect! While it's a "hotel" it felt more like a very high quality, homey, and personable BnB. We booked the suite (would've fit 2 adults and 2 kids) because we decided last minute (3 days) to do an ad hoc trip to Murren due to great recommendations from friends and coworkers. It was a bit pricy but we bit the bullet because it was just so highly rated. First, the staff at the hotel were just so incredibly nice and friendly! She noticed we were only 2 people and offered to just lock the door to the room with the bunk beds and give us a cheaper rate! She also walked us through what was in the area, and gave us great trail recommendations (we went on the one she suggested and it was exactly what we were looking for). The room itself (at least the suite) looked like an apartment - when you enter there's a small hallway with a bathroom on the right, a few steps later the main bedroom is on the left, with a second bedroom with what I assume are the bunk bed on the right (we couldn't confirm since it was locked). Everything was beautifully decorated, pristine, spacious and just perfect. Connected to the master bedroom is a small balcony - and WOW! The views were absolutely spectacular. It felt unreal - from the trees, to the vast mountains in the distance that varied from green terrains to snowy white. There's also a small restaurant downstairs ran by the same owners as the hotel serving homemade Swiss food that was easily the best restaurant food we've had this entire trip (but that's for another review :P). They also served continental breakfast which was a blend of amazing pastries, fresh fruits, juices, cured meats, cereals and more. I love love LOVE this place and only wish we could've stayed longer. If you're in Murren this is definitely the place to stay at!

The hotel is located directly next to the bus and train stations and provides you with a blue card which allows you to ride the buses for free. It has phenomenal views of the mountains and rivers and is far enough away from the touristy spots to get a good nights sleep. The beds are ridiculously comfortable and the water pressure and temperature are perfect. Our room has an automatic water heater so we can make tea and or coffee at our leisure. Complementary breakfast was a must when booking a hotel here, because food is quite expensive and lucky for us this place has it. It's just enough to get you up and going until lunch. Just pitiful. overall dirty,unkept,not kidding on this one motion detector lights in the hallways.WHO DOES THAT? The wi-fi installed in baskets on walls in hallways,beds left in hallways, and I think the tackiest thing I have ever seen STOLEN grocery carts from the coop store down the street being used as the linen carts. Breakfast buffet was very questionable. Did have some fresh melon but rest was processed very low quality and looked like same food put out day after day. Staff was not friendly nor helpful. Buyers beware we left as soon as we could after 2 days and found much nicer accommodations
