This review if for the cat area, as I didn't see where the dogs were kept. The cats all hang out in 2 adjoining rooms, one of which is a good size outdoor covered patio. So they can go back and forth whenever they feel like it, and they're not confined to little cages, which is pretty awesome. The staff seemed really nice too, which is always a plus. I would definitely come back here when I'm ready to add to my kitty family.

While I was there, I noticed a little pug and asked about her. They told me she wasn't available for adoption. I could see why -- her butt was prolapsed and there was liquid poop and blood all over her kennel. She was panting, whining, and frantically trying to get out. It was really upsetting to see. I spoke with the manager, who told me not to worry, that they had it under control and the dog was fine. I left feeling terrible. I came back a few days later and the poor pug was still in the same condition -- prolapse, bloody diarrhea, the whole thing. She still looked miserable. I'm really concerned that they don't have the animals' best interest at heart. A prolapsed rectum is painful, and there was clearly blood coming from her. I just don't understand how a person could look at that and think it's okay to leave her like that. This experience has me seriously questioning the level of care the animals are getting. I wanted to support the shelter, but I left feeling heartbroken and worried. I'm still looking to adopt a dog, but after this experience I don't feel confident adopting from here.

I tried again two days later, same experience happened. Finally a day later they told me the cat I chose was already gone and told me to just make an appointment whenever I see a new cat arrives. I did but then the lady said I can't make an appointment because the cat just came in, need 72 hours. She can't guarantee I would get the cat though. I don't want to waste more time, I went to a different shelter where people know how to run the business. I got the cat!

Katie's Place is my number one recommendation for places to get a cat. They take in the most…read morevulnerable ones that won't be adopted in other shelters and help them find their forever home. If they can't find a home, they live there forever. Most of the cats aren't in cages (those that are usually need to be isolated for one reason or another) and they have no problems with you going to sit and visit with the cats. I am forever grateful for their permanent foster program which waives the adoption fee and provides lifetime vet care for some of their special needs cats.

This is the happiest day of my life . I cried so many tears of joy when I was able to adopt my new female dog. I named her Sasha. Previously known as Oldsmobile. Sasha is the absolute sweetest girl ever. Sasha is what my heart needed. As a puppy she is very smart. Introducing to crate has been fairly well. Eating wow this girl can eat, run, do sprints around the house, yard and is super excited. I am too lol. Potty training is going very well in the morning she wakes me up with kisses to say she has to go and stands by door we go out. We have a routine. Totally recommend Homeward Per adoption to everyone. You will never be disappointed. The accept donations from you if your pet has passed away, been surrendered or you just want to donate, food, toys, supplies for dogs and cats. They are also well-taken care of by the staff and have a lot of land to roam around on. Also has other animals to see like alligators, birds, skunk, mountain lions, turtles and much more. Each has their own enclosures and are well taken care of. So don't feel bad for the animals like they are some victim or something. The staff and your leader was very friendly and informative. You learn a lot by doing this tour and help the animals as they rely on donations to stay open. I would highly recommend taking a trip to do this! Very cool experience!

Trugoal Puppy Services…read more I recently read a negative review of Trugoal puppy Services. In the review It stated that the puppies where puppy mill dogs. In his defence and have adopted a puppy from Trugoal, I did months of looking around he was courteous and helpful in every way. He also provided me with several references which all where very happy with their puppy. In fact, my puppy did have an unforseen vet bill and Trugoal voluntarily paid the deductible on my insurance without hesitation. While some people may have an axe to grind, why not check with a credible source like the spca (which is what I did), they told me that they had visited Turgoal on Serveral occassions and have always found their facility to be exemplary. Have they had complaints..YES and when they where investigated the complaints where found to have had no merit. I have also been to the facility in Chilwack and there are no cages of any kind. It is a resort like situaition, not a puppy mill of ahy kind. People, let's keep are criticism in perspective and not say hurtful things unless we are certain that what we are saying is in deed true. PS We are now considering getting a second puppy ( guess that says it all).
