Look no further! Chimpro Chimney Sweeps came to our rescue New Year's Eve. We spotted their van working at a home across the street from us and gave them a call to see if they could service our chimney on New Year's Eve. Smoke was blowing back into our home when we tried to use the fireplace. We called several places earlier that week but the earliest appointment that we could find was two weeks into January. Upon calling, I was told that the specialist was on his last call for the day but, he would check in with him to see if he could squeeze me in. I was so grateful when Kyle showed to sweep the chimney! He was professional, thorough, efficient and pleasant. In October I called several Chimney Sweep companies and the earliest appointment I could get to inspect my Chimney was in February. I happen to see the ChimPro Service truck at a neighbors home and got their contact information. I called as soon as I got home. They said they would give me a call the next time they were back on my street, they call in a couple days. They had a team servicing another neighbor, one of the servicemen came by my home to take a look to see what type of an appointment I would need. He took a look and said the chimney looked great and was ready to use. No need for a cleaning at this time. He showed me where the damper was and gave me a couple quick safety reminders. He said it would be no charge! He totally could have charged me for a full inspection, but asked just that I remember to use them next year. I for sure will! I was nervous to call a chimney sweep, because the house is old and the chimney hadn't been used in a few years, but the inspection, cleaning, and repairs were quicker and less expensive than I had dared to hope! Paul was available right away, came on time, was courteous, professional, and had the requisite expertise. He did the job neatly and efficiently for a good price. Working with Chim Pros and Paul was an awesome experience. Paul called ahead to ask if it was okay if he was early, and arrived promptly after. He was very knowledgeable and took time to explain his observations. He noticed some things to keep an eye while on the roof and offered advice on how to resolve those issues. He also even pulled out a tree trimming tool and helped remove some branches rubbing up against the house, totally un-related to his service. I had a great experience. I am moving out of my apartment and needed my chimney cleaned as part of the move out even though I had never used the fireplace. It was fully explained that if the chimney was clean, the inspection would take a few minutes and would cost only an inspection fee. If I had inherited a dirty chimney from a previous tenant I would need to pay for the full cleaning. Luckily, it was clean! I haven't used the services of Chimpro yet, but they merit a very favorable review. I talked to Paul about relining my chimney, as required for the new boiler that I am installing. He advised a new liner would cost about $4,000. Although it would mean I wouldn't need to reline the chimney and he would lose the job, Paul advised me that I could get a high-efficiency boiler that would vent via a PVC pipe.
