Good food. Staff/owners are great people. I'm a regular customer and they pretty much know who I am which is kind of cool.

The pot roast was very bland and the meat loaf had no taste. They no longer bring rolls to the table and the butter is on the other end farthest from the rolls on the salad and taco bar. There desserts consisted of a burnt Apple cobbler brownies, several cakes the carrot cake had crunchy carrots in it. And they didn't decorate there cupcakes to accomidate the holiday. For almost 18.00 a person I could have ate at MCL or a family restaurant. I have ate at the Golden Corral in Branson it taste like it did when I first heard of them. I don't know what is going on with Terre Hautes corral but I'm done giving it another try.

My son had puked (got corn stuck in his throat) and got some in my rings. So I took them off with a napkin to clean. I forgot about them until we got out the door. I ran back to the table and it wasn't in any of the napkins on our table. I told the waitress and she talked to the manager. I told them I'm more than willing to look through the trash so no one else has to. Remind you, its a busy day. They don't have the time to be digging through trash. The ended up finding the engagement ring, but not the wedding band. I left my number in case they find it. The guy manager just called me, about 5-6 hrs after we left and said he's been looking all night and spent the last hr trying to find it. But no luck. If I didnt live out of state, I would go back there tomorrow and give them all a good tip. I truly appreciate what that team did for me. The ring didn't cost much. But its what my husband could afford 10 yrs ago while working at taco bell. But it still meant alot to me. And means so much to me that they even took the effort in looking forward. Thankyou for trying! Have a blessed year. We will be back

They deserve it…read more We were heading home from a long weekend on the road, and wanted something more than fast food, so decided to give this a try. It's obvious this is a local hangout. I was surprised how many of the wait staff knew the customers by name! Still, we received prompt, friendly service, even though it was evident we didn't know our way around. Everything I tried was great! One thing that impressed me was that they were constantly turning the food on the buffet tables. I'm not a fan of buffets as sometimes the food seems a bit old, but that wasn't the case here. Everything was fresh, hot and tasty. The price was quite reasonable for the amount of food (all you care to eat). This goes on our list of places to stop in town!

I press napkins into pizza to absorb as much fat as possible because I think it's gross. However....my mom was an excellent home cook - healthy, well-rounded meals that included some fried, some bacon fat, pies & cobblers & shortcakes. Chambers is all of that. It fills not just my stomach but my soul. Good old home cooking -- fried chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans with bacon fat, homemade bread, pan desserts. All I can eat. The place is clean. The staff is friendly & keeps the glasses filled. I don't feel rushed like I'm a mere commodity like so many Indy restaurants. My only request is that they rent cots in the parking lot for food-coma recovery. But it's worth it to me.

And the old carpet just holds that smell. The restaurant was on the expensive side. The lunch specials started at $14.50. The cheapest sandwich was $15.99 and comes with one side. They offered a salad bar for $16.99 The hot bar was $18.79. Kids meals were all $9.99. I went with the hot bar because it had fried chicken on it. There were 4 different soups to choose from and all of the normal salad bar items. The pickled beets were really good. The skin of the fried chicken was soft from being in the steam table. Nothing crunchy left. Our waitress was very friendly and checked on a few times. Lunch for 3 adults and a kid was $70 plus tip.

The mash was creamy and the Caesar salad side were good. Credit where credit is due.... The chop was cooked to temp however with the size and even with the red sauce it's basted with, my husband reported it a bit dry but he definitely enjoyed the process of eating it. The service as fine and we enjoyed the experience. We will definitely return next time we travel that way and try more on the menu

This was a bit of a drive for me, an hour and a half, since I live in Indy, but it was well worth the drive! The Beef House is a steakhouse that has been around since 1964, and it is a family style steakhouse that is known for their fresh beef and huge portions. They also have a banquet hall across the parking lot that can be rented out for special events or organization meetings. I have not been inside the banquet hall, but from the pictures, it looks very nice and has a beautiful ambiance. When I went inside the restaurant, I noticed a bull's head on the wall on the right that was very unique and stood out very well. It is definitely a photo opportunity for families to remember the dining experience. The ambiance of the restaurant is gorgeous and definitely old style family steakhouse vibes with wood paneling and display of fine chinaware on the mantle. Our server greeted us with a smile and welcomed us to the restaurant. Unfortunately, I do not remember her name, but she was wonderful and took very good care of us. The menu is very impressive with a variety of options from pasta, steak, lobster, fish, and even frog legs! I decided to go with the Atlantic salmon dinner because I was in the mood for fish. I know I should have gotten a steak, but just was not feeling a steak for dinner. The dinner came with a salad, a side, and soup. I chose the vegetable soup, garden salad, and baked potato with sour cream for my side. OMG! When I say the portions were huge, the portions were huge!!! My Atlantic salmon was a huge portion, and the baked potato was a decent size as well. The vegetable soup and garden salad were delicious and very fresh. The vegetable soup was homemade and very comfort food for me. The Atlantic salmon was cooked to perfection and had a perfect texture to it. It melted in my mouth when I tasted it and was absolutely perfect! The baked potato was excellent and cooked perfectly as well. My Aunt also had the Atlantic salmon dinner and my Uncle had the chicken Parmesan dinner with pasta. The chicken Parmesan was huge and big enough to fill the entire plate. My Uncle loved it very much. The best part was the yeast rolls with strawberry jam and apple butter. The yeast rolls were the best I have ever had in a long time and the homemade strawberry jam and apple butter were pure heaven. You can even purchase a dozen of the yeast rolls to take home, along with a jar of apple butter or strawberry jam, if you are so inclined. This was an amazing dining experience and reminded me of the old steakhouse my family used to go to as a kid for dinner on special occasions. My Aunt and Uncle gave a good recommendation, and will definitely be back here for dinner if I am in the area. The Beef House is fantastic and highly recommend anyone traveling on the road to stop here for lunch or dinner, but would suggest making reservations in advance because it does get busy very quick. A wonderful road side restaurant for dinner here in Indiana that is a great discovery. Everyone need to come to The Beef House! It is #1!
