The Singapore noodles were textbook perfect. Clearly.... Skillfully prepared. Just look at the gorgeous pictures in their menus! Service was reasonable, attentive staff who were smiling and polite. A Bit of a surprise because so many Chinese places Excel with food while suffering from somewhat indifferent service. Nice bathrooms with pretty silk orchids decorating. It's not a greasy spoon that's run down or poorly managed. Clean tables & utensils.... How pleasant! Yeah... Other places miss the mark!!! Lol! We are only in London for roughly 5 days, but I think we'll try and swing by here again sometime. Just before we left the chef actually came out to chat with us. Yes... he was evidently curious how his business was impacting his customers!!!! What a nice family restaurant here!!! The chef shared how he had been working 20 years for a chain before opening his first restaurant in Florida ... 6 years there before deciding to relo to London!!! He talked about how all orders are spun up fresh ... and I'd say it's clear to us how expertly our dishes were prepared (( perfect )). We are visiting from Los Angeles where there are very large Chinese communities. My family had a large furniture business in LA Chinatown over 25 years! We've traveled through China & British HK many times, Asia and other parts far n wide all over the Earth. Often trying Chinese restaurants all over... Witnessing how many places alter their flavors or ingredients to be less authentic. That's definitely not the case here with the flavors and cooking the results textbook perfect! Silly to say.... But it's closer to perfect in balance and flavors than off the mark... So... We are putting a relatively rare 5 star credit here. That's bumped up because it's so very rare for the chef and owner to come out to talk to guests in evaluating how they're delivering... The CARE and professional interest here is pursuing business excellence!!!! Some might think us generous with 5 stars... Nope. It's like a fine tuned engine hitting all cylinders efficiently. Oh... Was slightly disappointed when asking for some free prawn crackers with my £18 order (which was in the shop, not even over the phone!!) that I had to spend £20 for free prawn crackers, a dish that would cost them about 3 pence to make a bag full. For this reason and the frequent long waits I would say the service is poor, yet this can often be forgiven for a very tasty meal.

I was so shocked at the service I received yesterday at this food place I came in I and asked the…read moreman at the desk do you pay by card here he replied me yes then I told him my order which was Large Singapore fried rice with chilli oil on top and pepper chicken and then he replied no we don't pay by card and started showing me some leaflet then I said ok I will go and get cash he kept asking me so are going to order or not rudely I ignored his rudeness and said I will go and get cash and said I did still want to order what I asked for and so I did so then came back. When I came back I told him my Mum also wants to order something as my Mum called me to tell me her order then I said can you please add that to the order my Mum wanted Large Singapore fried rice with chilli oil on top and spare ribs and fresh chilli's the man then said in an abrupt manner why didn't you tell me about your mums order before the meal was £24.70 all together as the fresh chilli peppers were added on and were 20p. I then waited for my takeaway to come the man gave it to me saying it was ready, I took my takeaway thinking everything including the fresh peppers in a small bowl was there and took it, my mum was waiting around the corner from the shop in her car so I had to walk in the pouring rain back to it and we were both hungry when I got to the car and checked inside the bag I noticed the man hadn't given us any cutlery for us to use to eat the takeaway, he also added no serviette's and the fresh peppers that the shop sell that my Mum asked for were not there and I went back to the shop and told the man that the fresh peppers were not there and he gave us no cutlery and serviettes, The man then said "95% of customers don't need cutlery', as he handed me cutlery rolled up in serviettes in a sarcastic manner with a smirk across his face (I was so angry when he made this comment I don't know if he was trying to be funny or something all he needed to say was sorry I forgot to give you your cutlery I wouldn't even have been upset I am quite reasonable I would have understood as that place was busy that day and food places usually get busy around the evening time anyway) and I also mentioned to him that the peppers that I paid for are missing he then said the red peppers are inside the rice I said I paid for it separately and it was supposed to be in a bowl (there were no red peppers in the rice) the man kept being rude and argumentative and at some point in the conversation he demanded that I should pay for the peppers that I already paid for again. The service I received from this man was absolutely appalling I couldn't believe he had the cheek to ask me to pay more money for something I had already paid for bear in mind I used to stay around that Newcross area and my old church was across the road I would often buy food from this shop and it was always lovely food and the staff were friendly even though I no longer live in London me and my Mum always looked for to eating Chinese from this place whenever we visited London as we don't have many Chinese take away places were we are, it seems like they have since gotten new management, it's really a shame honestly as it was a lovely take out place this man will ruin the reputation of this shop if he doesn't improve on his abysmal customer service skills.
