One of our family's favorite restaurant. We love chinese foods and we got a ton of food for the price. Their entrees made us full before we got our food. And we always left the store with a full stomach. The store is so clean and also the bathroom. And usung their bathroom, we felt like we are home..lol Highly recommend it. read more

Over the past 2 years, China fair has gone to crap. They have changed their distributors or have ordered bottom of the barrel products from them. They have Gone cheap on the people of Ortonville. The old man at the front desk just takes your money with, a who gives a crap look on his face and without even a thank you. They should just go out of business if they can't maintain their overhead to keep the lights on. THE FOOD. The food has is being put together with the same gravy crap that put on everything. Chop suey does NOT have gravy in it. BOTTOM LINE. Dear China fare. You are not doing us any favors by feeding us the cheapest examples of your country's crap. We owe you nothing but a smile and payment in return for quality food. read more

I went to China Fare for the last past couple weekends and had a perfect experience. With state of the world I'm not sure how Bridget P expected a 20 min wait. As far as price I think they are fair but if your order isn't put in I guess you didn't pay anything so you got what you pay for. I plan to go back and people should be nicer to the workers especially if they aren't the cause for your ignorant rant. God Bless. read more

Since moving out to ortonville this place has quickly become are favorite take out spot. Everything we have ordered has been delicious and always a good amount of food for the price, from chicken pad Thai to sesame chicken they offer mutable levels of heat for you meal to come, and on top of that it's always made quickly so your in and out. We love China Fare. The owners are such great people. They are always so happy and helpful. The food is great and they often times give our kids free cookies! I ordered sesame chicken, fried rice and egg drop soup. those weren't good and egg drop soup was horrible. I won't go back there again.

Have been going to this restaurant for about a year. Food is delicious. Owned by nice Asian couple. Have heard that the kitchen is very clean from people connected to the health department. Had food from here last week. I went there because their sister restaurant Eastern Pearl is now closed. I have had food there several times before and it was pretty good. This time I made the mistake of ordering a Thai dish from there menu. No Bueno. Flavorless and nit close to Thai food. Just because you make decent Chinese food doesn't mean you know how to make good food from all of Asia. Stick with what you know and even that could improve. I remain in the hunt for some decent Asian food in north Oakland county. read more

Totally just lost me as a customer. Food has going downhill lately...not fresh. Just ordered sweet and sour chicken , received sweet sour pork. Called to tell them that the chicken looks like dark meat. Owner said can not be....we dont use dark meat...back and forth...no offer to fix , replace or refund. POOR POOR BUSINESS PRACTICE!!! customer is always right. Well needless to say ,she called back to tell us we ordered pork not chicken. Well we ordered CHICKEN... BACK AND FORTH BLAH BLAH BLAH...same thing . no offer to fix....WOW SHE JUST CALLED BACK TO TELL US WE ARE WRONG........... Super clean place, and super friendly staff. Their menu is extensive. It took me 15 mins just to go through it all. After ordering my carry out at the restaurant I perused the joint. There is a section set up next to the register with jewelry and such for sale. I felt like I was at a friend's purse party, there was so much stuff (psst..kinda tacky). The only drawback was the price. $9 for a sesame chicken combo meal...eeh. It was good tho and they give you enough for at least 2 meals. I give it a thumbs up! read more

I've been coming to China Fare for many years and they have continued to be my favorite restaurant. Their food is always delicious, fresh, and fairly priced. The owners are the sweetest people and are always super friendly. Both my boyfriend and I have complicated orders and they always remember it and get it right every time. Typically, we order the sesame and general tso and those are our favorites. We have tried other things on the menu throughout the years and have yet to find a bad dish. Their won ton soup and egg rolls (both regular and veggie) are phenomenal! They are very accommodating on different levels of spicy that you would like as well. You get a ton of quality food for your money. Fantastic people and food! read more

Their food is just ok, not as flavorful as it should be. For the middle of Michigan it is a good intro to oriental food. My palate may be a bit spoiled having last had Chinese food in San Francisco in China town. They have take out and that is a plus, call in an order and it is ready to take home and enjoy. China Fare spoiled us with their fantastic food China fare has been our go-to for Chinese for over ten years and we are going to miss it. The fried rice, vegetable or pork, is delicious... I always order take-out and get a pint of fried rice that is bursting at the seams! Also a pint of wonton soup, pleanty for two and a big bag of crispy wontons for topping, yum. I don't care for the interior of China Fare, though, and never eat inside. read more
