Place a to go order since they were closing. Ordered General Tso chicken and crab Rangoon's. Was told there was no white rice only fried rice which was disappointing. Crab Rangoon's were hot and tasted ok. Chicken was bland and over cooked. It's been a while since I've eaten here and now I remembered why. Came to meet my friend from out of town and decided to eat here. We entered and not even a hello or sit here and we're never greeted until the person cleaning offered to get us drinks. Finally the waitress came to take our order. She ordered triple delight, and an order of crab Rangoon . The crab Rangoon was brought out within a minute ( weird) so I suppose not fresh. When I opened it up there was a very strong smell which is not normal. I ordered Kung Pao Chicken. It wasn't great or good to say the least. Honestly the chicken had a weird flavor and chewy. The egg roll didn't taste fresh either. Sadly the only reason I'm giving 1 stars is because of the lady who brought my drinks. Definitely will not be going back. Bland. Wonton soup looked good and promising like they used to make it but it had absolutely no flavor. I tasted a HINT of sesame oil but that was it. The rice is bland. The crab rangoons were chewy, not crispy; like they had been sitting there far too long. The crispies were chewy because they let the strips cook together so they didn't get completely cooked. I have been going here since I came to Pleasanton. This is not your ordinary Chinese (buffet style) restaurant. Everything is made to order and I have enjoyed everything I've tried. We have gone after the new owners took over (we loved it with the old owners) and I am happy to say that it was a good experience. This was before the pandemic however. The food came out fast. The sesame chicken seems different than before but imo it tastes better this way. The brown sauce has a great flavor. The waitress noticed my kids freezing since we were right under a vent and had them turn the air off or at least down. We didn't even mention it she just went out of her way to do it. The 4 and 5 stars may be given by the locals who possibly have not eaten out of the area and have no comparison. The wait staff is horrible. I really wanted to give more stars and be excited about trying this place as it was recommended by many locals in the area so I ordered some take out tonight for my family. We are new to Texas from the Chicago area and expect that there will be differences in cuisine depending on on the region but we were disappointed with what we ordered. We ordered egg rolls and what I thought was chicken teriyaki sticks only to find out that we got beef which was ok excerpt that the meat was super dry and basically flaked off the stick. My wife ordered egg foo young with supposedly extra mushrooms but for the life of me, I didn't see anything extra and they looked like a burnt omelet. The gravy that came with it was tasteless and watery too. I ordered the chicken lo mein which was actually ok. We also ordered the beef with broccoli and the beef was way over cooked and hard to chew. I tripped out when I saw the rice too expecting white steamed rice but saw that it was pale red(Tex-mex style). It actually tasted pretty good and wasn't too dry. And let me repeat that we are new here and this wasn't what we expected but if the dishes would've been more flavorful and the meat less dry, I would've given them another star.
