This restaurant does not honor DoorDash discounts. I ordered two combination meals this evening. My order was canceled as soon as my driver arrived to pick it up. I called the location and the person that answered the phone said that they canceled it because DoorDash will not reimburse them for the $2.78 discount. The discount was one of the frequent discounts that DoorDash promotes. I don't understand why this restaurant even allows DoorDash orders if they are not going to honor the specials that DoorDash provides their users. I have ordered pick up from here before about once per month. This time I wanted delivery but now I am never going to order from them again. They lost my business. read more

It is a small take out (now the only way but very little seating anyway) Chinese place in the Publix Plaza at Lockwood Ridge and SR 70. Food was quite good! We ordered an egg roll, steamed dumplings, Shrimp with Lobster Sauce (with pork fried rice) and Jalapeno Chicken. the spice level was requested to crank it up and they did! He loved it. Jumbo shrimp with the traditional thickened white sauce with lobster flavor and chunks of imitation crab meat, too. White Rice and Pork Fried Rice based on entrees, both tasty and fresh. Egg Roll has a very crispy skin and was a compact roll of egg roll goodness. Steamed Dumplings are one of my favorite dishes and these did not disappoint. Stopped here for lunch today, based solely on Yelp reviews. We're in town visiting family, and wanted Chinese food so I decided to check Yelp and see what was good. This restaurant is small and in a strip mall/grocery store complex. There were a few people in there waiting for their orders, but no one actually eating. We ordered sweet and sour chicken, bourbon chicken, fried dumplings and pork fried rice. All of it was quite delicious. My only complaint is just that the chicken that came with the sweet and sour was very small and a lot of them had no chicken in them, it was just fried breading. The lady at the counter was nice, but not overly nice. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area looking for good Chinese food. read more

The food is good and I want to go back there to get more. I do miss the food. I cannot accept the fact that the owner did not care about her costumers. I ordered food for my employees to treat them for lunch and I ordered for my family as well. Every time when they stacked up the soup the lids were broken and spilled everywhere when we got them out of the bag. It happened many times and until the time I get annoyed. This problem is easy to fix but she was lazy didn't want to fix it. I even took pictures showed her many times instead of apologizing and she gave me an attitude and gave me a dirty look. I am a very generous and nice customer as always tipped her. I hope this didn't happen to other customers that order many dishes and have this problem. What a disappointment! We ordered dinner for pick up, got it and as we started dinner one of us opened the sweet and sour sauce and there was a good size bug floating inside of the container .We called the restaurant and an apology was made and the manager Jenny said that we can come back and she will give us a refund. Tried China Gourmet for first time Tried the General Tsos lunch. Impressed with the amount for the price. It was enough for two meals. Don't order Teriyaki chicken or beef. They are totally bone dry, no sauce on the top or side. Egg foo yong is very bland and tasteless, no seasoning, no salt, maybe a little green onion, served with a flour-based Five Spice gravy that is not particularly good, reminds me of mothballs. Stay with plain dishes, protein and vegetables. I also have a BIG problem whenever I make a specialty order here, whether in person, online in writing, or on the phone. Delicious. Broccoli chicken excellent. They have $7 lunch special. We thought we will get small portion, but we were wrong. You will not leave hungry. This is my third visit to this restaurant and it is solid for a fast option Chinese spot. This is perfect for a quick lunch or a takeout dinner. They do have a few tables inside but we chose to take it out for lunch and eat at a picnic table nearby. I got the bourbon chicken and the sauce it was in was excellent and the rice was served separate which I liked so it didn't get soaked. My fiancé got Mongolian beef and it was very tasty. You could put this food on a fancy plate and think it's from a high end Chinese spot. The prices are normal for this type of restaurant as my dish cost 6.25. They didn't have lunch specials because it was Christmas but we were thankful they were open. read more

After the positive reviews I finally tried it. Overrated. Chicken lo mein did not have much chicken, was very bland. The house fried rice did have variety of ingredients, was ok. The pork egg roll filling was bland mush, all you could taste was the grease from the wrapper. Didn't even finish it. The steamed dumplings had a decent amount of filling but the dumpling was very very heavy. Food is great and I will continue ordering from them but it is very frustrating when you order sweet and sour chicken and realize when you get home that there is no sweet and sour sauce. I realize I should have checked the order prior to leaving as this has happened in the past but they do have amazing food, just check your to go order before you leave. Been coming here since the day it opened (I was keeping a close eye on it as I live right next to the Shopping center). I have never failed to be both very satisfied with the taste and the quick service (I rarely call ahead, and it's still fast). I'm so glad I didn't get stuck with a local place that I decided wasn't good enough, and kept traveling to the Yummy House. Well, it's not the Yummy House, but it's still good eats, and 20 miles closer. I like everything I have had there in the last several months and my daughter gives the boneless rib dishes her thumbs up (not my personal favorite Asian dish, so I trust her on this one). I have had one side that was basically some reheated frozen crap, and that's the fried scallops. Tried them tonight, they sucked out loud. Even with sauce on them. Please, take them off the menu, unless you plan on actually doing them correctly. Still, just one thing so far, so not a big deal. All in all, a nice, friendly, easy to get to, fast, great tasting, and even inexpensive option for your food dollar here. What would I offer as a way to get that 5th Star? Addition of Octopus/Squid/Cuttlefish options on menu (at least something, this is my favorite seafood type) that is done well. Multiple offerings would make me go for it in a big way if it was even just OK. However, if you plan on just taking it out of a frozen bag (like the scallops) and dropping it in the fryer, then don't bother. This is a pretty big seafood staple on most Asian menus both at home and when dining out. Stop offering the prepackaged duck and mustard sauce and only use the house made versions. You shine here, flaunt it! It's much better than that prepackaged gloop. Possibly, and this is just me, allow me to ask for a little MSG in it... OH NO! He said that bad word. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know, I'm bad, but it makes it taste better and everyone knows it. Not saying put it in everything, but make sure your patrons know it's an option they can ask for. But, as I said, it's good as it is, have at it. It's not "OMG! THIS IS THE BEST EVA!", but it's better than many I have tried. I eat there 1-2 times a week, that's saying a lot from me. read more

We've tried the Lo Mein, and last night the Dry Sauteed Peppercorn Jumbo Shrimp....DELICIOUS!!! Crab rangoons excellent, as well. For takeout, this place is tops. Much, much, much better than the Rice Bowl cafe....you can actually SEE your vegetables here, they are so large (unlike tiny bits of veggies at Rice Bowl).
