Panda Express, who?! I agree with what so many other reviews have stated: the quality of the food is exceptional and the owners are kind and friendly! Throw in the ridiculously reasonable prices, and China Ichiban is a no-brainer if you're looking for a solid spot to eat. Everything is made to order, so your food is fresh and piping hot! We ordered xiao long bao and the 2 item combo with orange chicken, pepper steak, and half fried rice/half chow mein. The chicken had solid chunks of meat with minimal breading, and the steak was so tender! I love that the xiao long bao each come in their own tin, so the juice is contained even if you pop it accidentally. The flavors and seasoning of everything in our combo were on point including the chow mein and fried rice. Portions are incredibly generous, and we even had leftovers after 2 hungry adults went to town on it. Again, the owners are so kind and approachable. They let us know ahead of time that the xiao long bao would take 15 minutes since everything is made to order, and we were happy to oblige. They also offer a family meal pack and multiple catering options. There are a few tables inside if you'd like to dine inside. We'll definitely be frequenting China Ichiban more often! read more

This spot honestly has better Chinese food than a lot of restaurants I have been to in my entire life. Their juicy pork dumpling has so much flavor, to the point I think it even beats Mama Lu's. Usually for the dumplings, there's a sauce accompanied with it, but at China Ichiban, there's no need for the sauce because of how savory their dumplings already are! Their pepper steak is also very delicious -- not too heavy on the pepper while still maintaining a nice consistency. I had a bit of their Wonton Soup, and the soup base isn't too heavy on the bouillon, while the veggies included tasted very fresh. Although they have a small seating area, taking your order to go doesn't impact the quality of the food, unlike some establishments. Came back again to try their other dishes & sure enough I was not disappointed. We ordered the usual 3-item combo of orange chicken, pepper beef & pork chop. And this time tried also their dumpling (xia long bao) & it was so good that we did not realize that we did not take a picture of it in time until there were only 2 left out of the 8 pieces. A bite of each gives a burst of all the juicy & umami flavors that there is no need for sauce like other versions. But a little bit of the sriracha sauce & it takes you on another level. And the highlight of it all is a special request I made of a Wor Wonton Soup. This is the one item that separates a good Chinese cook from the rest. Where others have failed, they truly delivered. Loaded with wonton, shrimp, chicken, beef, bbq pork & vegetable (Wor in Chinese is everything) this is one item that is a complete meal by itself. It is a dish not in their menu but can be requested as this place only serve custom-made. It's like having your own personal chef to cook for you. The owner himself is super friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to accommodate you to the best of his ability. Best bang for buck in terms of volume. It's $10 but it has packed the most food of any American Chinese fast food in the area!
