This is supposed to be a newly opened shop with some updates so I we came to grab some dinner to go. I thought they improved a bit which is good. I was a fan of their fried rice, Mongolian beef and salt & pepper chicken. They did improve on taste and texture which is a huge plus for me. Not sure what the changes were to be honest but the food tasted better from what I remember. Not sure I'd come back for a while but this place is worth trying and a decent Chinese food spot around the area; there's not much around. read more

Under new ownership as of December. We were skeptical but you have to try for yourselves!! It was great. Food was very fresh. Tasty. Hot. Big portions (we took 1/2 home). We had orange chicken and it did not disappoint!! The chow mein and fried rice were both yummy. The restaurant has been updated, remodeled bathroom. Everything felt clean and inviting to us. So glad that DB has a new restaurant. Best Chinese food I've had in the Brentwood/DB area. We'll be back. Thank you to the new owner and chef for accommodating my food sensitivity to garlic, also. My family loves this restaurant, matter of fact, husband is on his way to pick up our order! The staff are kind and welcoming and the food is so good. Our orders are usually a variety of the same stuff but always consistently on point. The portion sizes are generous as well. We order the hot and sour soup, wonton soup, chow mein, fried rice, orange chicken, general tso chicken, broccoli beef, and egg rolls. Again, they are always tasty. The sweet and sour chicken, orange chicken, and fried rice were absolutely delicious - each bite was a burst of flavor that left me wanting more. We also ventured into the territory of Mongolian beef, and while it had just the right amount of heat for my taste buds, it pushed the boundaries of my spice tolerance - but hey, I can't handle too much heat either! For this reason, it pains me to say China Wok is a complete rip off. The food is simply overpriced; skimpy portions, very little meat or seafood included in dishes, and food is of average quality. This restaurant DID NOT PASS THEIR HEALTH Department Inspection last time in and was closed for 10 days by the Health Dept. Until they brought their establishment up to code. They reopened a few months ago after finally receiving a pass from the Health Dept. I'd avoid this restaurant at all costs. read more

This place isn't the best but we eat here frequently as it fulfills our Chinese fix when we don't feel like driving out. The prices are cheap and the food quality is okay. The younger gal at the register is really awkward and works really hard. We ordered the orange chicken entree with a side of fried rice and salt/pepper shrimp no shell with a side of steam rice. I grabbed a menu, just in case this place really impressed me. It's a bit of a drive for me but I have been hunting for a solid Mu Shu in the east bay. The woman that took our order was friendly and the food came out lightning fast. So, 4 stars for service. Prices are definitely reasonable. We ordered Mu Shu pork, fried rice, and Kung Pao chicken. Everything was so bland. The Mu Shu didn't have much flavor. For being on the Chef Specialties menu, I would expect to be wowed. The fried rice was basic. Here is the kicker, the Kung Pao was bland. Overall rating: Not recommended, but satisfactory for kicking Chinese food cravings. Ordered Honey Walnut Prawns, Orange Chicken, Chow Mien, and String Bean Tofu. Prawns were kind of gross as they were very greasy. I had trouble finishing the dish, but at 12.99, I couldn't bear to leave any food. The Orange Chicken and Chow Mien were bland, tasteless, and greasy. String Bean Tofu was the only palatable dish and that's why I gave them two stars instead of one. My friends and I all had upset stomachs after eating, one even reporting that he felt sick and nearly vomited. Two thumbs down, go to Oriental House or Golden Dragon Buffet. read more
