Don't go here! The owner is rude, hardly speaks enough English to understand what you're trying to order. The food is mediocre at best. They don't use any Chinese vegetables like bok choy , Napa, cabbage, baby corn, not even water, chestnuts, or bean sprouts. You get broccoli, green onion, green pepper, and carrots. The vegetables in the dishes are barely cooked., I do not like overcooked vegetables, but these are almost raw. The beef in the beef dishes is always tough. The egg rolls are greasy, the worst I've ever had . In their soups they use the same stock for all their different ones. They just change what they put in it. The wontons in the wonton soup are mushy overcooked, and even slimy . Their dumplings are a real stomach bomb . The dough is very thick and heavy with very little meat in them. Now there are some close runner ups I know of, but here's why this place is so good. The AMOUNT of QUALITY and FRESH food you get for the price you pay is UNBEATABLE. It is $7.95 for a lunch special!!! That is UNHEARD OF!! Anywhere else you go, a lunch special is at LEAST $10, usually between $10-$15. Here it's literally $8 and you get the same portion or more than other places, cooked fresh with love. The wonton soup has such a flavorful broth. The orange and other sweet fried chickens are crispy even as leftovers, the batter is made with something that stays nice and crisp. The sauces are amazing and flavorful. The FRIED RICE IS AMAZING!! You get bbq pork fried rice with lunch specials, and it is so flavorful and unique. You can tell they are using a wok to make it, it has this really delicious almost grilled taste to it, and the oil they're using to make it is a bit different than other places and adds a really nice flavor, the fried rice is the main reason I come back. The egg foo young is GREAT!! It's not burnt, it's amazing. It's cooked perfectly, it has some crispy edges but is soft on the inside and the sauce comes separate and is really flavorful! The chicken chop suey is also unique, and the sauce is a bit closer to a chicken kow, there's something different to it, but still with the iconic chop suey flavor. All in all, this place is great!! I couldn't recommend it enough, I go here almost every day for lunch, I'm addicted to it. You can't beat the value and flavor you get. I defy anyone to actually try and pay this little for food that tastes this good at these portions. read more

My husband and I almost always order from this place for Chinese food! The main reason is that the crab rangoons are amazing! They aren't folded into the star like most places, but folded kinda like an empanada. So good! The service is typical of small Chinese hole-in-the-wall joints, but you'll definitely want to do take-out because seating is pretty much non-existent. Great place for Chinese food. They have a relatively simple menu; you point at that you want and they'll deliver. The only issue is no one here speaks English *at all.* If you ask for salt, they'll give you sauce (and vice versa). The only way to talk to them is using moans and grunts. My wife and I have been getting food from this restaurant for 15+ years, and it is normally pretty good. But today we ordered food we usually order (mongolian beef, beef with broccoli, chicken and vegetables in white sauce, egg rolls, and crab rangoon), and the mains were full of oil and grease, which we didn't find out until we arrived at the hospital in Elk Grove Village to bring dinner to family who are visiting our mom in the hospital. I called the restaurant to let them know about the issue and the owner just said "we always make it the same, that's how we make it." which is not true. We have ordered the same dishes every month for years and they have never been like the ones we got today. Rather than do the right thing and offer to make it right, she just repeated her initial response and refused to accept responsibility for the poor quality of the food she sold. Just moved to the area, a few blocks from this establishment. Figured I give them a go and order some chicken fried rice. When I got my food I was surprised to notice that it wasn't even fried rice. The rice was yellow rice that had absolutely no flavoring and a few peas, carrots and LOT of chopped up, either white or yellow onions. AND THE CHICKEN, the chicken was slimey and some pieces were still pink and not cooked what so ever. The entire dish had NO seasoning or flavoring at all. As I picked through it with my fork I became aware that this rice or anything in the dish was never fried. It is obvious to me everything in here was microwaved. When I called for an explanation, not only was the person on the other side of the phone rude, but also completely unwilling to do ANYTHING to rectify my purchase of completely UNFRIED yellow rice and microwaved chicken. That's about the best thing I can say about it. The lunch comes with pork fried rice... and i wish it hadn't. I love fried rice... and this was one of the worst pork fried rice I had ever had. It didn't taste bad... it just didn't taste like anything. I think it somehow managed to taste like less than regular white rice... if that's possible. One good thing it has going for it is that the lunch is $5 and you get a quite a bit of food. I usually get their sweet & sour chicken and have never had a bad batch. We usually call ahead with our order and go to pick it up. It's always hot and fresh. Not a huge fan of their fried rice. It's not terrible, but it can be bland at times. If I want good/better fried rice, I usually just head to Chin's Chop Suey in Glen Ellyn on my way home from school or work. However, I've found that they're combo plates are a better deal that you can get later in the day. This is my Chinese delivery place and has been for a few years now. I really only get 3 dishes from here. I have tried many different items here and I have narrowed it down to one appetizer (boneless spare ribs) and two main dishes (Combination Lo Mein, and Combination Fried Rice). I mostly do a delivery but sometimes I will pick up if I am in the area. Its OK food and for the money and I can get like almost 3 dinners out of it for $20. I like these 3 items because they are OK to reheat the next day or 2 (eat the rice combo first lol). Also if I have been drinking and don't want to drive this is my place to call for delivery. I like the boneless spare ribs with the hot mustard sauce and the combination items with a little soy sauce.
