Ok. Many restaurants in Bellagio are off the many stairs in the area. Small and intimate but full…read moreof experiences. We saw La Lanterna on our first night thought we have to give it a try while we were here. The next night we walked by and the was a table outside in the stairs. OK, it does not talk much to excite us but this was awesome. Enjoying our meal while watching people walk by and walk by. A lot of people walk by and look et you. So if you are self conscious ask to sit inside. They have a basic menu of pasta and at first we thought, "this will not be enough food." It was plenty and so flavorful. In our four weeks of travel in Italy and Greece, this was my most memorable and tasty meal. No hesitation. Just a cute little restaurant with a great eating experience.

Just barely beating the rush, we were given a lovely table inside and could enjoy the artsy decor--loved the flat wine bottle art, just wish it wasn't so expensive. 60 euros with the current exchange rate is a bit much especially that I was wary of being able to get it home safely! My mom went with the minestrone and she raved about it the rest of the trip! I dipped some of my bread in it and agree that it was quite good and that's not normally a soup I care for. The rest of us somehow all got lasagna and most of us enjoyed it, though one of the group found it too "creamy." I would agree that I do like a bit more mozzarella on my lasagna, but that could also be an American thing and not "authentic." Really the only negative here was having to go all the way downstairs to pay my bill. The restaurant isn't very big yet it was not the easiest journey and the wait down there was a bit long. Otherwise a great experience!
Interior, "mezzanine" level of the restaurant (cashier is at the base level, while you enter at the top level)

The pizza has focaccia bread like as the base but with a nice crispy touch. When in Bergamo definitely recommend this for pizza! One for the best, if not the best, brioches and cappuccino I got in Milan!…read more The place is small, with no tables, so you get to stand to get coffee and brioches like the locals. Lots of people get pastries to go as well. Brioches are a dream comes true, and there are lots of types and fillings. Cappuccino has a perfect creamy foam. You can find is pretty easily, as soon as you go out the subway, line 2, stop "Udine".
