I'm from Chicago, so I'll briefly explain the chiringuito concept. It's a food and drink place on the beach. As chiringuitos go, this one is fantastic. Gorgeous pavilion, delicious food, insanely beautiful views, hot waitstaff and good service. Compare this to most of the chiringuitos in Barcelona, and you'd be making a mistake of kind more than quantity. Chiringay is really lovely.
Here's where it could be improved. The music is probably too loud. I'm always concerned that Spanish owners allow the waitstaff to choose the music and the volume. This leads to a wide variety of music, but it really doesn't do a good job of creating a consistent atmosphere, which the excellent sound system can support. The prices are too high, but it's Ibiza, so that should be no surprise. Smokers seem to be allowed here, so I gagged a bit. Maybe more than anything else, there is an opportunity to create a social scene away from the internet. Lots of guys (including me writing this review) on my phone. Oh, and it's worth saying that the internet is fantastic. read more
