Waiter was super friendly and told us the towns fishing history. Apparently the grandfather of the current restaurant owner was one of the big fisheries owners. They used to fish: tuna here as well as can it here. Now, not so much. For dessert had puff pastry with chocolate sauce and ice cream. O Definitely worth a stop. One of the better restaurants i have been in during my short Portugal stay. Once we paid the waiter brought us an almond liqueur. A nice way to finish off a nice meal.

Cuisine is Portuguese with style. Try the lamb shank or duck confit. Perhaps the best I have ever eaten in country. Ambiance is cozy and authentic without being ostentatious. Service is prompt and courteous and not intrusive. Good price to value ratio. Like most eateries in Portugal, you can stay as long as you wish. I can dine here every day and not be disappointed or bored with the well curated menu and wine list. Don't miss this tried and true winner.

We were enjoying it from inside the establishment and thought it was coming from a speaker this whole time! Fresh grilled sardines in season are amazing -- May thru July. Prawn and monkfish skewers (espetadas) are excellent as is the polvo (octopus) prepared in a variety of traditional ways. My favorite here is Polvo la Guerreiro -- basically grilled tentacles served in olive oil with simply roasted potatoes and garlic and a simple salad. Get bread to mop up the garlic infused olive oil when done. The cozy upstairs dining room is charming and service is impeccable. Fresh catch daily , except Monday's when the restaurant closes. There is a comprehensive menu , however the fish and chips is always a favourite . Beautiful moist tasty fish which they serve in 3 portions . After one , you think that's quite small ,then they surprise you with another and the offer of yet again another, if you can eat it . The trick is to forego much of the chips and eat the fish alongside the most fresh tartare sauce . Fish kebabs alongside fish pie are again favourites but there is a comprehensive menu including veggie dishes . On a beautiful summer,s evening it is a privilege to sit outside and enjoy the view .
