They were awarded Children's Centre Status in 2004 and now offer a one-stop shop for families to access a range of children's services. In addition to flexible Daycare (charged by the hour), Shoppers' Creche and Nursery Education Sessions they offer support, and advice on a range of child and family related topics. All are easily obtained in their Parent/Carer and child drop-in area. They have a well equipped, spacious nursery. Planned activities and educational toys including painting, messy play, puzzles, books and toys,a special sleep area,a bright, clean and safe outdoor play area including a sand pit, spades, balls, hoops, trikes and more. As this is a charity, the child care is more affordable and conveniently located. I always leave my daughter here whilst shopping.

We end up here every week as te youngest daughter goes to Guides here on a Thursday evening and the place is always a hub of activity. Facilities include a public access computer suite for people to access internet, do homework, or find jobs, an amazing community cookery school to learn life skills; numerous activity and social spaces for older people, and meeting facilities for local groups. Despite all the wealth in Clerkenwell the Ward of Bunhill is actually within the bottom 10% of the most deprived wards in England and Wales. The classic inner city issues of unemployment, poor housing and health are to the fore nestling next to the bright and shiny office buildings. This centre seeks to support the community they serve and I commend themn for that... Friendly and welcoming - every neighbourhood should have a community centre like this.

However, I don't know if I caught someone in a bad mood or 5 minutes before closing, but when I went to drop off clothing to the good cause, I was greeted with a scowl, a door slam and not even a thank you. Absolutely terrible, it also made me want to take back what I had given away and give it to another charity like the Cancer Research UK up the street. I should have if had I not been in shock from the rudest encounter I have ever experienced in the least likely place, a charity shop. Then she even put me down on the nursery list. she took down my phone no.and assured to call me back when they had places for the required age group. Cons The only downside i found was there was no call from them, though it may be because it was about to end the term and start the summer vacations. Also she did not show me nursery to have a look from inside. but still overall it was a good experience to visit the nursery.

Children are taken good care with respect to their food habits, health, safety and personal hygiene. The office staff are very polite and welcoming. The teaching staff are very well trainned, they respect and respond to the parent's concerns about the child. Overall they handle children with great care, attention and love. This is all what a parent would expect.
