One place that will truly make you feel like you have all the time in the world. We stayed here for…read moreone night, but it seemed like a miniature holiday in itself. The rooms are very spacious and catering to a more demanding traveller (the suite is really a recommendation!); the service authentic and friendly and the breakfast is more than good. Its fantastic! Best croissants I've had since france (where do they get them from??) and diverse plate of savory and sweet delights. Also stopped by here for a snack (shrimp croquettes) and a wine in the evening, bot of which were excellent in taste, as was the scone we had the next day. Somehow, we just kept coming back to this place.

The fish was moist and tender, the tomato soup tasted of very fresh, very flavorful tomatoes, my daughter's lamb was excellent, and the hamburgers were unbelievably good. I have never eaten a hamburger like them...the meat was filled with spices and the bun was an elliptical crispy-on-the-outside sensation. I have rarely enjoyed a restaurant in a tourist designation this much!

Although the menu showed great promise and confidence in its selection; the execution did not…read morereally meet expectations (or price to quality standards). We had our aniversary dinner here recently and celebrated with a 4-course menu (a-la carte). The food was good (3 out of 4 dishes were quite tasty, one a bit dry) as were the portions, but I did expect a bit more to be quite honest. The service was friendly and quick to anticipate on our needs, making it a pleasent evening after all. Although it was a night to remember, I don't think we'll be back here again. After all, life is to short to drink mediocre wine and eat at 'not too bad' places.

But, everything we ordered was very delicious, not that fancy food but good matching combinations: most of the dishes had oven baked potato with garlic filling and many fruits enrichments, the spinach side dish with boiled eggs was good, also the melon with raw ham and port...Very cool dish names! will lose the charm if i translate them to english though (eg Boswandeling, Juttersvondst ). At the end we ordered Ameland coffee with Nobeltje likeur inside, its a must :)
