I've been to a few tea rooms and this one ranks middle of the road for me. It's set up as you would expect out of one with the floral decor and white settings. The service was very good. This was my second time there and both times, no issues. Friendly and attentive service. The sandwiches and salads are mediocre, although my salad on this last visit was pretty good. My fave thing to get there besides dessert is the tomato basil soup. It is so creamy and good. That and the dessert is why I stop in when I'm in the area. We didn't want the tuna sandwich in the sampler so he substituted for chicken, we weren't sure which tea to get so he brought a tray for us to smell the tea leaves. He put our cake orders on the cutest plates (we were celebrating birthdays), brought us a complimentary cookie, took pics for us. They did have cucumber sandwiches, though, and the slices of cake were enormous and good. It seemed like they were playing to the American idea of how to make tea, which is to throw it into Boston harbour. I really liked the ambiance here and it was a packed house here. They do have private tea rooms to reserve I believe but I didn't want it to be that formal. All of my friends arrived looking so amazing. We ordered a pot of tea for the table and got the cutest tea pot set to accompany it. We all ordered a variety of soups, salads, sandwiches to try and share. I was hoping they would Have more of a tiered shareable option like tea parties but they have a sampler plate I also ordered just to have more food. I ended up ordered a grilled cheese with bacon and tomato soup! The grilled cheese was delicious and the bacon was crispy. We ordered every dessert they offered as well and shared them all. We ended up having an amazing time and I really liked this tea room. I may try the Plano location for my next visit to see how they compare! Chocolate Angel is a great location to go with your girlfriend (s). Their restaurant is small but mighty! In the nicer weather, they have nice outdoor seating. We shared the pot of hot tea but had to pay individually for each tea bag so it was $8.99 for a pot of hot water? That's the only reason I didn't give them 5 stars. The soup was hot and thick and very tasty with a giant crouton on it. My sandwich was so good and the chips seemed homemade, although she told us they weren't. I would recommend this as a great outing with friends, although you probably want reservations. I want to go back for high tea! Avoid this place at all cost. We made reservation for a baby shower in April. Due to a death in the family we had to move the event to June, but ended up canceling in May. The contract we sign stated that we can cancel 30 days prior to the event. They do not pick up calls and only form Of communication is via email. When we cancelled by email, they claimed cancellation has to be done in person. The contract we signed clearly stated cancellation cannot be voicemail only. But the shady management altered the contract cancellation policy to - "you must speak to a staff to cancel" when we filed a dispute with our credit card company This is straight up fraud!!! I have been a longtime customer of Chocolate Angel, first at the original location Richardson and after it opened in Plano. We are so lucky to have an establishment like Chocolate Angel locally. Hey all, I am proof that real men DO actually enjoy Tea Rooms, though I think at the time I was there this afternoon for lunch that I was the only guy customer they had in what was a pretty busy place. The place has a cool shabby chic vibe which makes for a pretty cool ambiance. I ordered the Trio, where I got to pick 3 things from a long list of soups, sandwiches, and salads. I ordered Chicken and Vegetables Soup, 1/2 of a Pimento Cheese Sandwich and 1/2 of a Tuna Salad Sandwich. Delicious on all accounts! My only complaint is the service. While everyone was friendly, I clearly noticed, and tables were joking about the fact that the waitstaff seems to not refill water glasses. Tea, etc, they were refilling occasionally, but water at EVERY table in EVERY section not so much. Probably because the waitstaff was too busy in the back of the dining room congregating and visiting and not tending to their tables. In fact, my own waitperson put my food down and never came back to check on anything until she brought my bill.
