Italian denso x 2. Yummmm!
Jade C.

This place is great for either a mid-day treat or after dinner if you are looking for something sweet. Would be a PERFECT location for a date! Great outdoor tables and SOOOOO much chocolate everywhere. The Italian Denso was TDF (like liquid chocolate) and the desserts look scrumptious and inexpensive too. Will definitely be going back to try more!

Mexican Denso, Caramello, Chilli Denso and Hot Chocolate at Chocolate Boutique

My friends had mentioned the Chocolate Boutique to me on numerous occasions before I went there and always said that it was absolutely amazing, so my expectations of the place before going were sky-high. So how pleased I was when I finally got the opportunity to go there myself and found that my expectations were exceeded...and then some. Literally everything chocolate you could possibly want under one tiny, unassuming roof. From old favourites like chocolate fondue and bowl-sized portions of hot chocolate next to new and exotic delights in the vein of peanut butter chocachinos and Mexican densos (essentially spiced, drinkable melted chocolate in a glass). Also good news for the diabetics and coeliacs in the community, as the café offers a wide array of usually out of bounds delights like cookies and muffins to treat your delicate immune systems. It really is no wonder that this seven-tabled café often has queues all the way down the road. The cobbled street outside, olde worlde mahogany interiors and, of course, the big amounts of Belgian Brown make you feel like you've stepped into Bruges without leaving suburban Auckland. The only problem with the place is choosing just one (or in my case, three), things off of the extensive menu.

Chocolate!!!! Heard about this place from a friend so decided to take me mum for a treat. we went in early on a sunday arvo and were lucky to find a table as within 30 minutes the place was packed and people had to wait for tables. Spoilt for choices, the wait was long though but we just soaked in the atmosphere. we tried the crème brulee and the chocolate tiramisu although death by chocolate was sooooo inviting :) Def a revisit once I lose off the calories....Staff were very friendly and nice and parking was not a problem as it was a sunday so free and surprisingly not busy for parnell.

Bad service. Very uncomfortable chairs. Had to wait over half hour for basic lemon tart and tiny slice of cheesecake neither of while were anything special. Could have brought both food items at a local bakery for half the price. My drink was basically chocolate syrup and made me feel sick after only a few. Mouthfuls. They need to have a shake up in service not a single smile. The girl behind counter could have not cared less. The waitress said nothing. Not recommended at all.

Yep... hard core chocolate in all its possible forms. Very well done. Very busy. But hey... Bill Clinton visited back in the day with Chelsea so it must be good! I did dock them one star because the front counter person could be a little more friendly.

Any place that serves chocolate in many forms is a favourite of mine. Quick afternoon stop for an affogato with shots of coffee and chocolate on the side. Hot chocolate and brownie got the thumbs up too. Must come here more often.

They have an amazing selection of beautiful handmade chocolates in the cabinet, gourmet ice cream, fudge, sweets, and gorgeous tins and boxes. Plus they make specialty chocolates for occasions like Christmas, Valentine's, and Easter. If you only try one thing, go for the salted caramel from the cabinet - it's a creamy, rich caramel coated in chocolate with a couple of tiny grains of sea salt on top. I was skeptical before I tasted it but now it's my favourite. Also amazing is the Russian fudge sold by the bag or in individual pieces. As a bonus, the staff are as sweet as the chocolates they sell!

They had a great selection of Easter Eggs and loads of delicious looking chocolates displayed in a glass counter (the coconut creams and chocolate coconut rough looked particularly appealing) for around $2 each. The girl behind the counter was lovely and asked me how my day was going and offered me a free sample of the caramel chocolate. It's definitely one of those stores where you buy for other people and not for yourself. Items in here are really special and certainly not your everyday Snickers! However, if you're in the market for fancy chocolates like this, I think the Chocolate Boutique in Parnell is better. They have a more varied selection of posh chocs under the counter and have the added bonus of hot chocolates and desserts on the eat-in menu too.

I think I was in a wonderful chocolate trance so I forgot to take pics of the inside of the shop. The woman working in the store was friendly and very knowledgeable about the products. I came here for the first time with a friend of mine last year, the smell of chocolate in the store was intense. The lady behind the counter was really friendly and had a lot of product knowledge when questioned about the different types of chocolates on display in the cabinets as well as throughout the store. That is one of the great things about Davonport Chocolates, whether you want to buy a full sized tablet or a smaller bar, or even just an individual chocolate or truffle, they have a fantastic range to suit all budgets and tastes. Even as a vegan I can buy chocolate from Davonport, the freeze dried raspberry dark chocolate tablet is heavenly and every once in a while I treat myself to one. I don't think that chocolate like this should be reserved for gifting to others. Gift it to yourself and take the time to appreciate all the hard work that went into creating it or share it with someone, but don't reserve beautiful chocolate like this just for special occasions, this type of chocolate makes an occasion special.

The cafe will be open Monday to Saturday, and open late till 9pm Thursday-Saturday, so it will be a nice treat for those who live near the Beach Haven area. It was because of this that I noticed it and I am really glad I did, they have a whole assortment of chocolates, fudge and amazing chocolate gifts. They were very busy in there today getting chocolate ready for Easter, and if you want you can get a big chocolate with your name on it. As well as selling to the public they have a huge number of businesses that they supply to such as hotels, restaurants and shops. Today I had a coffee and biscuit combo that went down very well, and I tried the fudge - vanilla, chocolate and black sambuca - all of them were very good, but I especially enjoyed the black sambuca. I think I will come here often for my chocolate fix.

I had a nosy around and loved everything I saw. I could find a gift for every single person I know, they were all wonderful and unique. I bought a three pack of truffles to share with my mom and sister. We nibbled and shared them between us and they were beautiful. It was only $5 for the pack, which I don't think is bad at all for quality chocolate. Extra bonus - they are open for deserts and hot drinks on some nights and there are ice cream scoops sold too. Everything you could want for a sweet tooth! I'll be popping in for desert very soon.
