Lets see, cold and rainy day in the Netherlands, what could cheer anyone else up? Easy answer, hot chocolate! To be honest, we stumbled upon this dare I say it, "gem" when out and about and we were so glad we did.
We really did not think much of it when entering, looked like a clone of Starbucks, but for hot chocolate. There were these weird square chocolates on a wooden stick, which I assume were a play on some sort of candy sucker. This was definitely not the case as this was the main attraction of the store itself! First and foremost though, the inside is small, but cozy and the staff speak great English as there is no way I was up to date enough to speak Dutch. Price point, it is expensive, but your first sip takes away any worry of dropping a pretty penny on this hot chocolate house. So back to why most come here, their decadent hot chocolate selection. Whether you want an adult flavor or child, they all look great, but I went with a chocolate caramel. Of course at this point I was expecting them to make it in front of me, but they heated the milk and gave me the chocolate on a stick and it all made sense now. You basically stir it till it all dissolves and then slurp it...okay maybe I inhaled it, not going to lie. Either way, throw this up against Angelina's in Paris any day, grant it, both are different styles, but great in their own respects.
Would absolutely love to re visit this wonderful shop sometime in the future! read more
