Oh WOW - that's the ultimate thing anyone says about this chocolate shop because it really is one of the most amazing sights to behold any chocolate lovers eyes. Seriously, the first time I saw it, I wanted to dive right in!
This shop is located on the same side of the river as the abbey and the 199 steps are. It's on the main street that leads up to the 199 steps but bare in mind it can be hard to miss, the first time I visited it, I walked right past it!
Inside is kind of a cafe set up with gorgeous leather chairs for anyone who wants to sit down and eat - trust me with these products, sitting down is the best option.
They serve either skewers which come on a paper plate or boxes. Theres strawberries, fudge, marshmallows and grapes all arranged in a vareity of ways but I've visited enough times now (self confessed chocoholic) to recommend the strawberries if you're a bit stuck with that to choose. Anyway you pay your money - warning here it's extremely pricy, £4 for a skewer with 5 strawberries on - and then they take a spoon and coat whatever you've chosen in a mound of chocolate. Then you're free to go your way and live in heaven for a few minutes then try to resist the temptation of going back. The skewers are heavy so if you're planning to walk, I would say get a box if you can. read more
