I went here for a gel manicure and left with gel ALL ON MY SKIN. the lady that did my nails (Lily) went way too fast and did an awful job on my nails. I had to ask 3 times for her to remove the gel and when I left, there was still gel on my skin. My previous visits were never that good. I do not recommend coming here. They go way to fast on nails and do not take their time. Never coming here again!! read more

I downloaded yelp just so I could review this business. There aren't enough words for how garbage this place is. Absolute minimal effort by staff- if any effort at all. Upcharge for breathing their air. My pedicure just consisted of 6 minutes in lukewarm water, crooked nails after they trimmed them, and a few slaps on the bottom of my feet lol I cannot make this up. & shockingly the last on my list, THEY ARE SO RUDE! I wouldn't even give them one star. I went there today at 1030am waited 30 min to get a manicure and pedicure. The DIDNT speak English that well and the whole process took about 10mins for a manicure and pedicure. The lady was rushing to get me out. I have given this place a number of chances due to my devotion with supporting my local businesses. Unfortunately this place lacks severe customer service, rushes the job and staff clearly talks about their customers in their language without care. I decided not to return after sitting on the chair getting a manicure with my 11 year old next to me as staff watched a x rated movie on the large screen TV. A sex explicit scene was playing ( I'm talking about ass and tits in the air) when I asked for the movie to be changed due to my child being their, staff caught a attitude. Coincidently a few minutes later Judy who was doing my nails informed me I would have to pay 5 dollars extra because she was shaping my nails. Absolutely did NOT pay the 5 dollars but that's besides the point. I go to the spa/ nail salon to distress and relax - my experience here has been full of anxiety and disappointment- very annoying!!! especially when your paying for so much money for a SERVICE. I've expressed my concerns with the owner before. This place is beautiful inside but it is not worth a penny more of my dollars. The service was not like this when they first opened. I recommended a few people who have experienced the same. It is truly sad. What goes up must come down. Beware...they do not take request. My first and last time to this nail salon Chocolate. After about 10 request and over half hour of discussion...they did opposite of my request. They filed to square stubs and applying the wrong color gel...even with the language barrier between the two men , they decided to do my nails to their taste not mine. After the technician gave a grunt like ..is it ok...i gave the same grunt back paid but no tip. My nails were sore for two days after. I'd never recommend their nail service. read more

Starting off by saying I have been to this place easily 10+ times. Every experience has been different. I have received the best 'chocolate pedicure' by Judy. But also have seen Tony count his tip in front of me, after cutting my cuticle causing it to bleed. Sometimes the technicians are impatient and take 15 minutes to do a $20.00 pedicure, and others are very patient while you choose a color. Most recently, yesterday, I was trying the ANC dip powder for the first time. Kira did a good job, although the color pink was awful and matched nothing to the sample. Not her fault. The reason for the 1 star was because my sister received a pedicure, the simple $20 one, where the male technician (name unsure) cut the side of her foot. Chose to not acknowledge it, until made aware , said 'sorry' and continued. Mind you from where I was sitting I could see her foot bleeding. She notified the owner Andy, all he did was give her a bandaid. 24 hours later, her foot is burning and most likely infected. We are going to bring it to their attention, but doubtful that they will do anything at all. read more

The people were rude first off, when I sat down in the chair the lady was being so rough on my nails when she took off my acrylics she kept picking at them very roughly that it made me bleed a lot and I told her to please be gentle then she actually put a hole in my nail and continued to keep going. My first time going to this place was less than a week ago. My first impression was it was very clean and nice on the inside, the workers were really friendly to my daughter and I. I noticed they offer many more services than the average nail salon which could be a plus If your looking to go the "extra mile" of treatment. My daughter and I chose a reg. Gel mani and pedi.... But, There were a few things that I noticed that did stand out to me (negatively) but I guess it wasn't a huge deal at the time. For instance.... When it was Time for my manicure the worker didn't soak my nails (cuticles).... I asked if he was going to soak my finger and he stated no because soaking isn't good for the gel polish and a mani is actually better this way.... Now, I am 36 years old, I have been getting manicures for about 20 years and I have NEVER had a manicure done this way. But I chose not to argue and just allow him to do what he thought was best... As long as the results was good. Well it was! I was pleased, my daughter was pleased and we both stated we would return. Fast forward 3 days later.... As I was doing some lite garden work with Gloves upon finishing I noticed 4 of my nails no longer had Polishagain NEVER in the history of my Gel Manicure experience have my gel polish ever came off unless is was after 2 weeks usually 3 weeks for me... This was super surprising to me... Due to a family emergency I didn't return to the salon until yesterday...(6 days) I walked in and immediately I was greeted and I explained the situation...without a problem I was seated and someone was taking care of my gel polish. I was told it would be free which was great but I was expecting to pay for the re-polish I just wanted to bring it to their attention. Once again I walked out satisfied.... I tipped the young man and thanked everyone again. But now 3 hrs later my nails began to Chip again!!!!!! What is going on?!?! I'm not sure if I should bring it to their attention again.. I don't want to be the complaining lady.... But what is a girl to do??? I'm not sure if I want to go back just because of this... It's very hit or miss going here. Today was the last straw for me. I always get the powder gel and by now I know the process. When I told Lisa who was doing my nails today that I only wanted two coats of the powder she insisted that I needed three. She assured me not to worry and that she would shave them down. After she shaved them down she asked if I liked them. I told her no and that It was still too thick. She said okay and then did noting about It. Then when its time to pay she tells me that It is going to be $45. I give her my rewards card and my credit card and she comes back with the receipt and she charged me $65! I point It out to her and she apologizes and gave me $20 in cash. And to think I had already signed the receipt and I almost didn't even notice. She then hovered over me waiting for a tip and then said to me "no tip?". Definitely think that It is time for me to find a new salon. read more

Worst service/people skills in the Hudson Valley! There needs to be a new rating of negative 5 to review this place. I went for a pedi/gel manicure and was rushed through a pedicure that was more or less a foot bath. When I stopped the women from continuing because I did not receive what had been discribed as the service on their description before she painted them . I spoke manager/owner he made me pay full price! He claimed I only had a "regular" pedicure so that's what I get & threatened to call the police if I didn't pay full price (for partial service). I should have just walked out but I would never do that. I contacted them myself and he followed me when I stepped outside to speak to them taking my photo. If this is consider "feeling pampered" as described in their services please don't! This is the owner/management we want in our neighborhood??? He kept telling me if I ordered a sandwich and didn't like it I'd still pay. I've never had a problem EVER returning a poor meal and I certainly was never treated like that for doing so. I normally go to the Chocolate Spa in Monroe but decided to try New Windsor. From the moment I entered I felt like just another payment to them. I was rudely rushed by Coco one of the employees. She seemed annoyed that it took me more than a few seconds to pick out a color. My pedicure was a complete joke. I have never had a pedicure where all of the toes were not shaped. She never even bothered to address my cuticles. The mud mask that was included with the spa pedicure never happened. The only good part was the foot and leg massage. If it was not for the timer they use for the massages, I am sure it would have been just as quick as the initial part of the pedicure. As for my manicure, she was just as quick and uncaring. She seemed more interested in finishing so that she could help another client. At the end of the services she walked me to the nail dryer station, threw my purse down and could not even turn the nail dryer on. She quickly walked away with not even a word. This place was a waste of my time. I did not feel relaxed and the experience was not enjoyable. Do not go to this salon. read more
