Excellent coffee and chocolate. Handmade churros ice cream and pancakes. Not crowded. Try their traditional chocolate. Soooo good!

When I spent two weeks here in Salamanca, I knew I had to get churros and hot chocolate! But be warned, if you're from America, this is not like what you're used to. The churros are fried to a golden, crispy perfection, but it is not coated in cinnamon sugar like here in Texas. They are actually savory, but what I learned is that you are actually supposed to dip the churro in your hot chocolate. Now the hot chocolate is not what you're typically used to either. The hot chocolate at Valor is made of this pretty thick consistency. You can't really drink it without choking....if you are going to drink it, please do so one teaspoon at a time. Spare yourself some American embarrassment. They also offer ice cream, sundaes, smoothies and coffee. This place gets super packed at night and over the weekends so be prepared to wait for a table to be open.

Churros and chocolate are amazing but I would recommend sharing. It's a lot of chocolate for one person! Something you must try while in salamanca.

If you like chocolate, you need to stop here for an afternoon snack. First, Valor is located just behind the market. It's easy to miss, so be careful. They have a few tables and chairs outside and the staff will come wait on you if you decide to eat outside. They have a very extensive menu of food and desserts. Many of the other customers were eating lunch, but we had come just for the desserts. It was a hot day, so we decided on some of the cold chocolate beverages. They were like chocolate slushies, but the chocolate was good chocolate, not fake kind. We also got some churros which are not like American churros. If you're American, do not expect Costco/Disneyland style churros that are coated with cinnamon sugar. Spanish churros are just deep fried dough, kind of like youtiao if you're familiar with Chinese food. They were served hot and crispy. The waitresses were very nice and quickly came by to take our orders and bring the food. We didn't feel rushed and it was a lovely afternoon snack. read more
This is the best cafe for churros and hot chocolate. I have waited two years to return and headed straightaway for this place. The chocolates are so rich and delicious. The place is extremely clean and the staff are very helpful even when I have limited Spanish to order my treats. A mixture of people visit the cafe. There is a large number of foreign students who visit as there is nearby school for adults who are learning Spanish. The cafe is warm on extremely cold days and has free wi fi. read more

Cafe con leche and churros con chocolate are a must when in Spain. I heard this was one of the best places in the area so we had to go, and I must say they were pretty good. Definitely check it out whenever you're in Salamanca. read more
