The signs were all in German so I picked my ball the way I pick my wine, looks only. Once I decision I did ask what it was and the staff said milk chocolate. It's a bit oddly shaped so lots of crumbs or I just a messy eater. Cookie-ish. It's nice to try something new although I wouldn't say this is a must if you're visiting Fussen.

The queue went quickly and the staff were very friendly, so don't be deterred by the line as there is usually one. Across our 4 day trip our group tried a few of the flavours. The black forest and snickers inspired one (I can't remember the name) were also both very nice. They also had a Dubai chocolate flavour if that's your thing, although we didn't try it. I found the walnut gelato a little bland - it would be great with some little dark chocolate pieces or even a drizzle of hot chocolate sauce. They are cash only at the gelato counter so go prepared. We got apple pie in their sit down restaurant one afternoon and were able to pay with card for that. It was really good! Their dessert menu is wild, with spaghetti inspired dishes that reminded us of Buddy the elf! Definitely worth a visit!
