Dreaming…read moreof the chance to sample any of the decadent desserts in the photos they frequently upload until the chance for a South America trip materialized. Finally the wait was over, my wife and I booked a stop in Goiânia Brazil for the specific purpose of coming here. We got to the location straight from the airport and the first thing we saw was a beautiful store front, people lined up to get in and more on the way. A turnstile waits for you at the entrance, it opened after I pushed a button and a thick tablet with a barcode come out and a green light lit up, one tablet per person, we came inside and were free to order or wait for a table. We were immediately welcomed by the friendliest Maître d'hotel, bright genuine smiles and service. The universe inside moved in a precise choreagraphy of dedicated counter staff serving up slices of cake, jars with puddings, coffees with caramel and chocolate rim, pastries and desserts galore. We got to our table on the second floor. The interior design was very attractive, full of light and welcoming, attention to detail was very impressive, everything from their elegant menu to the tray mats and napkins. The place was packed with socialites, friends and cute couples - including us of course! Our friendly and patient waiter took our order, with the help of Google translate, and minutes later we were served. Finally, the moment of truth. All that time tantalizing, salivating looking at marketing photos on my phone, we were now on the other side, inside, with a spoon in our hands and a tray full of georgeous looking sweet creations before us. PURE BLISS. The first spoonful, a mouthful of a dessert named BEM CASADO, a cream, dulce de Leche, cake in a jar concoction left me totally speechless, utterly transported to a milky, delicately sweet and perfectly balanced wonderland, a delectable and transfixing moment in time, savoring every second of it, I realized I was in the presence of the most perfected, the most sublime and amazing dessert, that I've had to this day. The trip to Goiânia was suddenly validated, happiness and excitement ensued as we sampled the coffee, then the cake, then the other cake in a jar, a chocolate/coconut sinful orgasm-in-a-jar. After a hypnotic feeding frenzy, it was time to depart, our brains completely blown and our hearts totally won. The staff by now knew we were foreigners, visitors at the end of a long journey, they were appreciative, courteous and all smiles after seeing our genuine fulfillment. We assured them we would be back again the next morning, on our way back to the airport. How painful to realize this experience would not be available to us at anytime, like a holy land quest, we have no idea when we can be back inside this palace of sweet treasures and cake masterpieces. Alas, such is life, that the best things in life are in fact ephemeral, limited so they can be truly appreciated. How lucky are the locals! I know that if we lived here, this would be our to go place for family, friends, private times when you need a reminder of how sweet, and how beautiful life can be. Thank you Ms. Perdomo.
