The sizes run small, and there are a few 90s Teen Movie Prom Dresses (the ones that come with their own scarves) to sort through to get to the good stuff. But rest assured, for all its mall trappings, Julien is working hard to keep shoppers interested. My inner dragarella pulled me in to inspect the while and gold Grecian number, but all was forgotten when I found the slinky Bond-Girlesque black cocktail dress posing vampily by the dressing rooms. The prices on both sent me packing, but as soon as I've got somewhere to wear at least one of these options... you can bet I'll be back.

I'd never heard of it before (proving my lack of fashion consciousness) but I took a look to find out what all the excitement was about. It is like a H&M and New Look type store, over 3 floors, that made minimal sense to me. Lots of shiny and sparkly clothes but there are lots of them and you would really need a sense of what you want when you come in here. Judging from all the distinctive yellow "Forever 21" bags around town, there are several people who know exactly what they want! No doubting they have a bit of everything; day, office, night, sleep, under, over, men's, women's, childrens, foot-wear for every wear and the prices are nice and reasonable. This shop is extensive. I will have to come back here another day and give it another go.

Anyway we went along and she tried on the dress, and it was so 'meh' that I almost fainted when I saw the pricetag! But she had picked out a lovely jacket. The thing about this shop is they have quite good pieces for a woman of a certain age, but the shop assistants will simply tell you everything is lovely, even though it might not be. I simply took over a got all bossy and picked out a new outfit for my mother that made her feel fabulous - and I could tell the shop assistants hated me for it! They were totally devoid of advice in general. I saw other women there with the same dilemma as my mother and they simply said 'that's lovely' instead of making alternative suggestions and actually finding something that suited the person... I really had to hold myself back from finding outfits for these other women. The clothes in this shop are simply too expensive to be just ok. if you're going to drop 400 euro on an outfit it should make you feel amazing (in my book anything over 50 quid should make you feel amazing!!). And there's too many women, particularly over a certain size, who are unnerved by this type of fashion, but need something for a family event, and will pay this kind of money for something that's just ok. I reckon this shop could do amazing business if it just stepped up and got assistants who were better at advising and styling.

Nothing high fashion on the least. But cheap as hell! Leia Clothing also sells really high, plasticky fake-leather heels. We're talking seriously, hooker-shoe high. I wouldn't recommend leaving the house wearing both a dress and a pair of shoes from Leia Clothing, because you will probably look pretty ridiculous.

I discovered this gem in 2005 and have found quite a few bargains that I still have. The garments fit well, wash well and are pretty funky! The shoes are good as well, I had a work BBQ to go to and had nothing to wear, so I popped along to Leia and got a dress and a pair of "plasticky fake hooker heels" (the exact same pair in River Island for a third of the price) and got complimented all night about my ensemble! The staff are so helpful, and not afraid to tell you what suits you and what would go nicely with that top/skirt/dress, as with the BBQ, I tried on a really unflattering dress, to which the senior sales girl (Stacy, Shes the best!!) told me that it made me look bigger then I am, (scarlet!!) and helped me choose something that was more me, and I felt great all night!! I highly recommend it if your in a jam, need something to wear quick and are looking for girly, fun outfits that you can wear again and again...till it goes out of fashion, the one downfall of the clothes is that they're very in the moment. When I was there, I saw some lovely Sailor Moon outfits. If you don't believe me, look at the photo attached to this review. Why 3 stars? ~Even on shopping night they close at 6pm sharp. ~The staff can be unhelpful. I got lectured from the lady in the dressing room about not being able to bring shoes into the dressing room, and hadn't I seen all the signs upstairs stating so? When I went back upstairs I went back to the shoe section and there was not one sign that said so.... ~The store can be a mess, a rack full of different styles and sizes of black. pants, but none of them your size. ~Quality you get what you pay for....your money might be better spent at Dunnes or Pennys for the same price, just with less flashy sequins.
