Janice has done amazing things with my back and most of the cost of her sessions are covered by my health insurance. She can work out any stiffness of the muscle fascia and really knows her stuff; so much so that when my back problem was more serious, she was the one that picked it up. My GP was not convinced that the problem was serious, but on Janice's advice I pushed for the referral and the orthopaedic surgeon MRI-ed me and she was right - I needed surgery. I will be endlessly grateful for her help in getting my problem sorted and would highly recommend her to anyone as an intuitive yet practical therapist who looks at the WHOLE picture and really takes her time to give her clients the best service possible. She cares so much that she even followed up with me by phone and email to see where things were at. She's just lovely.

We were walking around and I saw this massage place, went in, and grabbed a brochure. Several people in our party ended up getting massages. I called the day before and booked for 8:30 AM on a Saturday morning. My therapist was a young guy named Red, a doctor in massage therapy and acupuncture from China. He was AMAZING!!! I had no idea my head could be massaged like that!! It hurt so good! Red has very advanced, graduate degree massage technique. You should absolutely ask for him. He suggested acupuncture to increase blood flow to my brain, and I absolutely trusted him to do it. I wish I could go to him regularly, but alas! He is very talented and well-studied. At 60 NZD (about $40 USD) for 60 minutes, the massage is a STEAL. The acupuncture was an additional $45 NZD ($30 USD) which I gladly paid up with a generous tip. We also got to talking and Red has done a lot of hiking. My brother happened to be in China at the exact same time so Red made me a map of where to visit. Wonderful massage. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We were badly in need of something to help our aches n pains. Need I say more? Yes? Well then, Wayne Massage is also located directly below the Crowne Plaza hotel that happened to be where we were staying. My hubber and I almost tripped over each other trying to beat each other through the door! All was well as we both squeezed through the opening at the same time and found TWO avail therapists - whew! I had Lisa and opted for the 40 minute neck/shoulders/back combo & it was soooooo good, I couldn't get off the table. In fact I could quite happily have canceled our time in Auckland and just stayed there and let her keep working on my tired, aching torso. So that, tells you something! Hub was equally as enamored with his therapist, so much so, he forgot her name and could only sing of the blissful cushions he was now floating on - and that had replaced his 'squealing pigs' as he called them when he first begged for 40 minutes of reflexology. Between the two of us we were a new person! So weary travelers, do yourselves a favour and make time for a quick massage you will be thrilled you did! And Lisa, if you ever choose to come to FL or TN, look us up. We'll switch out free room and board for massage!
I spoke to Red, my massage therapist/Chinese doctor, and he drew me a map of a national park in China my brother is currently visiting. FYI

We wanted to get my grandmother's shoulder massaged as she has been having calcification problems as of late in her rotator cuff. We chose the "should and neck" massage ($25 for 20 minutes) - she sat in a chair and they placed a towel over her shoulder/neck for them to massage over (only outer clothing needed to be removed). The masseuse used a variety of chinese massage techniques and worked tirelessly for the whole 20minutes. We were very impressed with the service and my grandma was very happy after we left saying how much tension she had managed to release in such a short space of time. They offer massage services for all body parts (including full body massages) and also acupuncture (by appt and also for ACC claims). Located at the Pak N Save end of Sylvia Park Shopping Mall - you may miss this gem ! I liked the fact that it wasn't in an open space like alot of these massage places are - set up in walkways in the mall. This was an actual store with curtains and a shop set up. Highly recommend !
