I got the Ikura sushi and was delighted that our server offered Ikura with the raw egg as that option enhanced it tremendously, wonderful texture with salty and rich taste. The spider roll and Dragon Roll were both so delicious as well. Others in our party got the chicken tempura, a classic , done to perfection as well as Tofu Pad Se Ew which was amazing. Considering it was a perfect summer evening and we were able to sit outside with our pup, I wish I could give this place ten stars. The food was fresh, delicious, and the presentation was perfect. We didn't feel rushed and the host was more than gracious when we asked to change seats (too much sun for Karma). He also informed us where there was fresh drinking water for her. A walk around the harbor afterwards made an incredible meal all the more enjoyable. I highly, highly recommend this place. Hands down best sushi we've had on the south shore! Such a great time had by all at this lovely spot. Service was attentive and prompt- food came out quickly and looked beautiful (and tasted delicious!) Awesome, awesome place on Front Street in Scituate. We sat at the bar and ordered just some lite bites such as their Tuna Roll which was pretty good, their Spring Rolls which were phenomenal and their Tuna Sashimi was also very good. Last week I was eating a pasta dish in town, pulling shrimp tails off shrimp with my hands before eating it and wondered why restaurants don't take the tails off before they cook it? Then tonight I got the Mazeman curry with shrimp at C&F and THEY TAKE THE TAILS OFF!! I can eat it like I would any other curry with protein, with chopsticks and not a chopsticks/fingers combo. With that said - we order take out from here every other week and the order has always been right, food is fast and hot, and extremely good. Drinks are great too if you sit at the back bar. This will be a 2 part review. Part 1 is 5 stars. Looking for some place different for lunch in Scituate and stumbled across Chopsticks and Forks. First time and definitely won't be our last. Great menu with Chinese, Japanese and Thai dishes. Nice comfortable clean atmosphere. Open kitchen. Our waitress Vivian was pleasant, friendly, courteous, attentive and professional. Decided to have some sushi and asked Vivian for some recommendations. Did not disappoint. Part 2 is 2 stars. As I mentioned I would return and did so on Saturday night yesterday. As we got to the restaurant, it was crowded. No social distancing in this place. There were people everywhere including those who were waiting for their take out orders. The servers, wait staff and other customers had problems negotiating around everyone and every table. As we checked in and gave our name, we were told it will be 5 minutes for a table for us. 30 minutes later and while tables were open and occupied, we were still waiting. Then we were seated by the door. Waitress gave us a menu with a pencil and took our drink orders. I guess we were suppose to check of the dishes we wanted on their menu. Took another 10 minutes before the waitress took our order. This time we ordered entrees, scallops and asparagus and chicken pad Thai as well as a couple of rolls of sushi for appetizers. It took over an hour, hour and 20 before any of our dishes arrived. And it's not like they don't have enough help. Plenty of help and plenty of standing around. So the entrees were what I consider small plates in some places and for the price , it was worth it. And as far as taste, the pad Thai was bland. The peanuts was just a dusting. $16. The scallops and asparagus $26, 6 small well done scallops and very peppery. The sushi were also just ok compared to my first time there. Thus averaging my 3 stars rating. Definitely not rushing back here for dinner. Maybe lunch. Maybe. read more

Very very accommodating to food allergy issues, which is always an extra plus for me. Outside dining is lovely, inside could use a little sound absorption remediation when at its busiest, but it's still a cozy ambiance overall. What a great addition to Scituate dining.! Warm and welcoming atmosphere, great service and the best scallops of my life! You might feel like it is a little expensive but once you taste the food you know it is definitely worth it! My husband had curry and my friend had a combo of sushi and sashimi. She raved about the freshness of the fish. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the turnaround time from order to delivery of your food is amazing. They have a great sushi bar and while the space is fairly small the acoustics are quite good, so it was easy to have pleasant conversation at your table. We will definitely be going back! read more

We have been coming here on almost a weekly basis for over two years now. To start with, the food is outstanding, whether you are ordering their sushi which is the freshest around or some of their entrees...the beef melts in your mouth and their entrees are outstanding but portions getting smaller. Would highly recommend the Scituate roll and the Dragon Lady are excellent sushi rolls. The Yuen Yang spicy beef, the scallops with asparagus, the Yaki Udon w/ beef and chicken, are just some of our favorites. So why the rating? Service starts w/ the owner who is not very friendly whatsoever. You would think after coming here weekly he would be a little more polite in greeting his customers., but this is not the case. The service is very fast as he is trying to turn the tables over as quickly as possible....so you feel you are being rushed from the time you arrive throughout your meal. The other pet peeve I have here is paying $4.00 for a coke and NO refills. Really??? Think about that when/if you bring kids in for dinner. It is apparent that there is a definite problem there as the restaurant cannot keep help and there are new servers every week. That speaks volumes about the management. This could be the reason they do an amazing take-out business! read more

Although, the food was good the service was TERRIBLE!!! We asked for water and our server said that Scituate water is "dirty", which is true and there is a drought right now, so she said they have bottled water and we took that. So, when we revived our check we saw a charge for 16$ for water!!! Outrageous!!! When we asked about the charge she said it was because the water was dirty and then said she probably should've told us. Now, this wouldn't of been as enraging if there was good service but there wasn't. The server was quiet, unable to help us, AND didn't tell us about the 16$ CHARGE FOR WATER!!!! read more

Giving this two stars because the service and time it took to get our food was not great. We are not from the area, but my girlfriend and I were visiting and in the mood for sushi. Food itself was 4 stars. However, it took almost 20 minutes for someone to even take our drink order. I ordered a glass of red wine, they brought out white, and when I sent it back they brought my new wine in a dirty glass. It had clearly not been washed with lip stains and finger prints from the previous use. Once we ordered food it took over an hour to come out. We watched tables around us be seated and receive their orders while ours was nowhere to be found. Overall okay food but I'm sure there is a similar quality restaurant in town that will offer much better service. Save your time. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would but that is not an option. Up until a few minutes ago, I would have given this restaurant 5 stars. I bought a gift certificate as a Christmas present 10 days before Christmas. On Christmas day I couldn't find it. Ugh!! That's ok, I was sure the restaurant would simply void the original certificate and issue another one. (As a side, I have worked in the restaurant industry most of my working life, let's call it 50 years.) I got in touch with the manager/owner. We had a pretty interesting conversation. He basically said, "Too bad. That's your problem, not mine." Wow! I was NOT expecting that! I reminded him that Scituate is a pretty small community and most businesses in Scituate really appreciate their customers and strive to get and then to keep their business. And his reply was, "I don't care". Without pointing out the obvious....finding the certificate number, voiding it and reissuing a new one is not a difficult task, I've done it many times. But, apparently he had my money (not a lot of money, but not the point) and so he was done with me and our conversation. Oh, one more thing....he did compare it to if I dropped a $100 dollar bill on the ground and lost it, that would be my fault. In my opinion, if an owner/manager is willing to keep your money and not even try to help his customer, even if yes it was my fault, I can only imagine what else they might do...particularly in the restaurant business. Name of restaurant is misleading. This is no ordinary Chinese restaurant but a wonderful, quietly elegant Japanese/Thai restaurant in a small interior space but augmented with a large outdoor patio for the balmier weather. Interesting, beautifully prepared and reasonably priced selections. Prompt service. I especially liked the Thai mango shrimp and Masaman's (sic) curry. Will be returning soon.
