I had these cowboys in to change a sink position and lower 4 no longer used radiator pipes below the floor surface. They also serviced my boiler. Terrible almost criminal work. The boiler had to be serviced by the Gas board after it began to pass hot water intermittently; the Gas Board people subsequently advised me to sue 'John The Plumber' as they had not even changed or cleaned the gas filter in the boiler itself ! I have the report: In the kitchen they lowered only one radiator pipe and left the other above floor level. In the bathroom (I presume what passed for his son), moved the sink leaving the waste connection at a twisted angle. He also did not lower the 2 pipes below the floor although after I complained he did do so. The eventual plumber employed to correct this could not stop laughing. They charged me around £280, a total rip off outfit.

When we bought our house we had no issues in having a HUGE shower enclosure and no bath. As the years have gone by and faced with illness/sports injuries/the cold weather/the dog and babysitting-it has become apparent that a bath would be a good addition to the house. With half inch thick Italian metre long tiles top to bottom in the bathroom and no pipework on show I hankered after getting a bath fitted with minimal fuss to the rest of the bathroom fittings/fixtures. 3 quotes in we were loosing all faith in getting the job done well and with a plumber we were happy would actually 'listen' to us and then McHugh plumbing was recommended to us. Richard was very friendly on the phone and came around 2 days later to evaluate the job and take the relevant measurements to prepare our quote. Having tried, on numerous occasions, to get our heating working through another plumber (and,…read moreobviously, failing) our lethargic and useless letting agent David Moor finally decided that it might be best to call another plumber. After two months of complaints, horrendous flu and a call to the environmental health they came to this sudden conclusion. So, in came Paul Padgett and his two trusty guys. Yorkshiremen through and through, there was no messing about and no guff, they went straight down to the cellar to check that our boiler was working. After that my housemate and I followed the three of them around the house, radiator to radiator, offering up our lengthy history of problems that we'd had. For virtually all the problems we described they offered up easy-to-understand answers as to why we have problems - something no one else seems to have managed - and set about fixing everything to make our system a functioning system once more. After detailed information regarding boiler pressure, valves, bleeding radiators was passed on to us in earnest and we now feel as though we've been given the correct information regarding our boiler system and have some ideas of what might be awry should it go wrong again! The guys were friendly and helpful and had everything up and running within half an hour which was just fantastic - especially since we'd been made to wait two months for it to finally be working.
