I looked at their website and they seem to be trying to keep up with the times, which is probably a good idea during these times for religions. However I could not help appreciating their message that they have on line, and it resonated a little with me. What do you think? See below. Some hear the word "church" and think of beautiful cathedrals, cozy chapels or even hard wooden pews.  Churches can exist without stained-glass windows, pews, and steeples, but they cannot exist without people.  At One City Church when we think of the word "church," we think foremost about people - people just like you.  No wonder the Bible says Jesus loved the church and even gave his life for her.  Jesus loves people!  Two things will last forever; God's Word and people.  When you make an investment in people you are making an investment in eternity.  At OCC we believe in people.  We desire to grow people - not buildings or denominational programs.  Our greatest asset and our greatest investment is people. Our culture is love!" and also this " One City Church exists to offer a place where people have the opportunity to know God, to worship and to be part of the family of faith. The church of God is not about a building or an organization, the church of God is made up of people who have put their faith in Jesus. All by our nature we are imperfect, we have faults and we make mistakes that make us completely dependent on the grace of a God who is Perfect and Holy. We are people who have found unconditional, transforming love in God and who are growing daily to live according to his will. We understand that life is a journey that is full of surprises, ups and downs, good and not so good experiences. We have all experienced joys, triumphs, disappointments, and pain. We stumbled upon this church over 7 years ago when we registered our child for the VPK program at the affiliated school, Granada Day School. During school functions we witnessed Pastor Worth in action and fell in love with his good natured, humble & practical style of worship. He really speaks to the people and always gives great life lessons. Pastor worth is also a grandfather so he has many interesting stories & antidotes to share. All of the pastors there are wonderful. After VPK and kindergarten ended, we ended up staying with this church and haven't looked back since! The church has a strong children's program filled with activities, worship, volunteer opportunities, Bible Summer Camp, out reach programs, youth groups and much much more. We really enjoy attending the service & all of the activities. This a very friendly laid back group. No pretentiousness here! Love for all religions, beliefs, spiritual practices. It's a very welcoming collective with a lot of positive and faith based energy. The chorus is always uplifting, the centering prayer is grounding, and the sermons always teach you something new or remind you of something you needed to hear. The only thing i look for is if I feel God's presence and if I feel loved by the people. I have gone to mega churches, medium size churches, community churches, churches from DC, NYC, Jacksonville, new churches and old churches. I don't know if one church is better than another. I don't know if this is the right church for you. Only you can tell by experience. My experience was that this is the church that gave me the greatest growth. My transformation is seen by my family and closed ones. I found my calling and identity in Christ here. My family and marriage are better because of this church. Also this is a pre school here at the back of the church. South Miami Lutheran Church n school. It was founded in 1952 for the purpose of serving its members and the community with a quality early childhood experience. The inclusion of a comprehensive day care program occurred in 1980 in response to the increased need for service.
