You know a mechanic's going to be good when it's in a literal garage, right?
I've driven past this place a bunch of times but had my car serviced elsewhere because an actual literal garage was a bit intimidating to me. Just give me a chain store with low prices. Except nah, because you have to support the local little guys... so when my car started making weird noises every time I drove it, I figured the closer the better and gave G. Christian a call.
Firstly, I described the sounds my car was making and what it was doing, and he asked me to drop it off so he could check it out. No cost to me. I went to pick it up a couple of hours later, and he handed me an A4 sheet of handwriting and price breakdowns of things he thought my car could do with. I'd told him I wasn't flush with cash, so he prioritised it for me. The weird noise was my clutch slipping and it needed a full replacement STAT, which isn't cheap... but after checking out his costings with a few people, it turned out that G. Christian's pricing was super reasonable.
Based on that first experience, I'm actually looking forward to keeping my car in shape with these guys, and I know what to budget for over the next few months. I'll happily give them a few extra dollars to give my car a proper service and know it's in good hands. read more
