One of the top thrift stores in San Angelo! Exceptional service, excellent quality, and very affordable! Books priced at just 25 cents each, with frequent furniture deals available. For example, a reclining loveseat couch was immediately marked down by 50% one day after being displayed, providing amazing value for my wife and me. This place is huge it had a great variety of items Old New and in between. I will have to come back and look again. It closes at 5pm weekdays so allow for that. I did find the type of things I am looking for but not the exact particular items. The have furniture and hardware and lot of glassware. This place is great when someone you know works there, the employees get first pick of every item. Therefore, not really helping the community. I have also first hand seen the lady that runs this take money out of the bag and give to her relatives. Stating she would put it back later. Ok so the previous two "reviewers" neglected to mention why this store is overpriced. All the money that CIA gets is put back into the community, they are an outreach ministry. Most people who shop here are aware of the ministry aspect of the CIA and will gladly pay a little more than necessary because they know that these people operate to help those in need. If you are in need they will GIVE you the furniture for free. They help people, isn't that a good thing? If you care about hurting people then maybe you should stop in once in a while and check the place out, but if you are a "bargain hunter" who only cares about money spent then go to Walmart. I bought an LCD monitor for my computer here, for 8 bucks! 8 BUCKS! That's not overpriced!! If anything is overpriced there it is the furniture but how many people buy donated furniture from thrift stores? Not many. They have some really good stuff in there sometimes, and sometimes you buy a cable for a dollar and the cable doesn't work. You have to be pretty vindictive to get online and start trashing a charity because they sold you a cable for one dollar that didn't work. read more

If you go into this ...God forsaken building, get ready to melt! Its 95 degrees inside and about 90% is humidity. I went in there to get out of the heat, I was out in about 5 minutes. Know what you need and get out, otherwise you'll die of a heat stroke! Something needs to be done about this building, or shut the thing down!! read more

Alright, so the only things I have purchased here was a (non-working) cable cord for a dollar and a baby stroller for $5. However, I have spent about half an hour walking around both times I went in. While they have a TON of stuff for sale (they say on the side of the building they are 60,000 sq. ft!), they tend to be way overpriced on most of their items. Their furniture and exercise equiptment is extremely overpriced, especially considering they had it donated to them. Coffee tables, couches, and other furniture pieces I've seen here have been on par with items at Goodwill or Salvation Army (sometimes not even as good quality), but were three, four, or even five times higher priced! The toys section seems fair. I saw a sign that said "Toys $1." Also, some of their knick knacks and other items are priced fairly. I do think they mark up evening gowns and donated dresses though. The Goodwill on Sherwood had a better selection and all the gowns were $49. At this store, there was a used bridesmaid dress for that price and a wedding gown that was very old (think 80s) for over $200. I will say this much, the people are very friendly. I feel bad that every time I've been there, the parking lot's been close to empty. This was a former grocery store they turned into a thrift store and so the lot is huge, but when we've been there only 3 or 4 cars were outside. It's definitely worth visiting if you are a big thrifter. Not all of their stuff is what you'd expect. They did have some new looking pieces and collections as I was told by another girl here that they are a consignment shop as well. I couldn't afford them, but they were nice looking. read more

I am a thrift store-aholic! I love them! I come from a town where the thrift store are clean and happy people take pride in providing a service. I walked into CIA thinking I would see the same. Boy was I wrong. I am writing this review, hope that action (pun) will be taken to the improvement of the facility. Upon entering the place smelled overwhelmingly like mold. It was so intense I almost had to leave. Stuck it out, and looked around. They are way overpriced. No other way to put it. Clothes in your size are hard to find, which makes shopping almost non-existent. The furniture is never the quality it should be for the price they are wanting. I am so disappointed when I see the prices they are asking poor people to pay. Makes me sad. I wish the word Christian were not connected to this business. read more

This is the best Thrift store I have ever been in. Everyone in the store are very very friendly. The store is very clean even the bath rooms. Made contact with the manager who is very professional and very very people oriented. Made me a great deal on some items in the store. Will be back soon,60,000 sq feet of building wow. read more
