Christie Foot & Ankle at the Fields in Champaign - very negative experience. The doctor seemed great. He recommended custom orthotics. They supposedly completed scans to order the orthotics on my 12-10-25 visit & gave me the codes to check with my insurance company. My insurance rep called & spoke to their office staff & confirmed that Molina would cover the orthotics 100%. Weeks later, Foot & Ankle said they "lost the scans" & I would need to come back in or go to Heel to Toe, who does not accept insurance, at least what I had. I went back & got new scans on 1-21-26. Orthotics were supposed to take 6-8 weeks. I keep checking on the status. They would never tell me when they were actually ordered, but I finally got the call to pick them up on 4-14, after I had planned to just get them made at Kirby. They billed for either when they finally bothered to order them, which the package says was the end of March, or the date listed on my Christie invoice, which is when I was able to pick them up months after both office visits. So now my new insurance, fairly so, will cover 0%, but neither will the pre-approved Molina insurance, thanks to someone at Foot & Ankle's incompetence. I did call to ask them to bill for the actual office visit, but apparently I will just be out $700. I strongly advise to get orthotics from anywhere but here, just to be safe. read more

If you are active duty military and have Tricare remote, you have to pay $20 to get a DA Form 7809 filled out and they won't get it back to you for 7-10 days. This is the only form that the Army accepts for time off and physical limitations. I have never, ever had to pay to have this form filled out, neither have the Soldiers I serve with. It sounds like they also charge to complete VA paperwork. What a scam. Actually a quick Google search shows that requiring payment for a DA Form 7809 isnt even legal, I am running this through the JAG office. I want my money back! read more

In my honest opinion, Christie Clinic has gone from a great clinic to sub-par. I got better care from Public Health. No joke. 2 month waiting for an appt., only for it to be rescheduled out for another 5 weeks. The shortage of Dr.s is destoying thier business. They refer you to the ER or convenient care? Choose your provider carefully... is all I have to say. read more

My grandpa went here to get a procedure and they did it well and he was in the recovery room and he was taken care of and he is alive and i am happy the surgeons/doctors are nice here. 5 stars! read more

It's a long way to get here but service is fast & friendly. This is a new location, new building, with plenty of parking. There is bike parking but the adjacent traffic on the way here is a bit forbidding for biking. read more

DANGER.... DANGER... DANGER Be prepared to spend money in an endless flow if you choose treatment here! After having multiple tests completed that were ordered by a PCM I received a referral to a specialist to address an issue. ALL testing had been completed and entered into my chart weeks before meeting with the specialist "clinician". Within one minute of this "clinician" entry into the exam room she told me I need to complete all the tests I had done previously. Why, I asked, was something missed when these were done in this very department less than three weeks ago? The answer was: I want current data. Ok, said I, let's schedule everything. It became extremely apparent that no matter how hard scheduling tried there was going to be four to five weeks between redoing all the tests and seeing the specialist again.... So, back to the "clinician" to ask if this was what was desired.... That resulted in her ordering even MORE tests, some of which even my PCM in the building said were "beyond useless". (Who do you believe? My MD PCM or the specialist NP who ordered a SLEW of tests where my out of pocket was going to exceed $1500.00 AGAIN!) Spoke to my Insurance Carrier who informed me how to report a FRAUD COMPLAINT against the facility as they could see (and subsequently DENIED) all the repeat testing as the NP could NOT talk to them to explain all the repeats.... I lodged a COMPLAINT with Patient Advocacy via email and followed up with a call several days later where I was told they were looking into it and would get back to me..... that was one month ago today and I have NOT heard from them until.... I received messages to be there Monday for "treatment" which has been DENIED by my Insurance as they are aware that what was requested could NOT be done since it had been tried repeatedly before and since what they wanted to try is known NOT to work AND had a history of requiring my hospitalization afterwards! Sure looks like the philosophy here is to Bill, Bill, Bill and repeat, repeat, repeat...... without anything doing one iota of good. The postings about ASK WHAT THIS MAY COST are outright LIES. Doubt me? Try to get them to give you an answer sometime.... good luck. The "financial specialists" take GUESSES and even tell you it depends on how they code it to your insurer and until that is done this is a estimate..... Sorry, I need to KNOW what I need to pay as I, like many, list employment and have to feed myself and my family on unemployment.... a guess does not get it and not like they will cut you a break over anything YOU owe them. read more

PATIENT ADVOCATES do NOT exist in this organization and if you approach one who carries the title you are WASTING your time! I took a significant issue regarding a rogue Clinician to Patient Advocates..... I received a call from a person who acknowledged receiving my written "complaint" regarding what had transpired with a "promise" 1) Answers would be found and provided for multiple outstanding issues. 2) The clinician who CAUSED these issues would be questioned, records reviewed and findings would be shared with me. 3) Reviews would be conducted to determine how many, IF ANY, refunds or credits I am due after my insurance carrier REJECTED tests that had VERY recently been completed and NOT AUTHORIZED which this facility DEMANDS I pay for even though I REFUSED them until they were cleared by my carrier AND MOST IMPORTANTLY I have NOT completed because they are not allowed and available to them from another medical provider I work with. (Hey, just because you have a policy to have a specific test that does NOT mean you can NOT accept that highly controlled test results preformed by OTHERS) ALL THIS TRANSPIRED THREE MONTHS AGO AND HERE I SIT ON 18 SEP 2021 STILL AWAITING THE ANSWERS. Today they send me a survey asking me "How are things and How did we do?". Really, amazing and protect your pocket because all these clinicians do is separate you from your hard won earnings! Pass by this place and go to your local veterinarian for care..... You will be treated better and probably SURVIVE the encounter BETTER. read more

The ENT Department is absolutely awful!! Go to Carle or ANY WHERE but here for ENT. From the extremely rude receptionist (Kathy I believe was her name) who won't listen (literally talked over me and pressed the button, really!? and TWICE back to back this happened!) to doctors that won't listen either and honestly acted like he didn't care (Dr Date walked out of the room/$350 visit later with NO result). Their motto: We Listen, We Care is an utter joke. Don't waste your time or money here is the best advice. *If I could give it a zero star or honestly a negative star rating I would but it requires at least a 1 star...that's the only reason they get that. read more

The practitioner that I saw in orthopedics, Ryan Snowden, was very kind and informative. It felt like some of the staff in orthopedics were rude though, both on the phone and in person. It seemed like these certain staff shamed me in different ways. The wait time was also pretty long. I think the staff that I had seen at the Windsor and University locations were more caring and the wait time was also shorter. read more

Very disappointed by this health care provider. New to town, I saw a Urologist here for an introductory office visit. I talked to the doctor for about 10 minutes and received 2 exams. I was later shocked to receive a bill for a 45 minute office visit. I questioned the bill and discovered that besides charging me for a longer visit than I had, they also charged me for 9 exams, including a psychiatric "exam" based on my "clear, pleasant and appropriate" appearance. In addition, they misclassified my condition and erroneously inflated what I had discussed with the doctor. The number of exams and other factors go into a formula to get a billing code. I pinpointed every mistake they made on my bill, based on info THEY provided me, yet they refused to properly recode my bill. As a result, I believe they are knowingly engaging in health care coding fraud known as "upcoding". Net result was my out of pocket was 4x what is should have been based on previous, similar health care in Chicago. Quality of care was mediocre as well, with the doctor recommending an expensive procedure that I got relief from via an inexpensive prescription written for me during a subsequent visit to my previous primary care doctor. Although I was disappointed in the billing and quality of care, the facility is very nice - modern, clean, and well kept with friendly staff. Unfortunately, I have no intention of returning to this or any other Christie facility. read more
