I have been having arch pain and figured i would get it looked it, so i called and made an appointment. I arrive and was greeted by a rude male receptionist/billing person who told me to have a seat and be quiet. I brought my wife and our 12 week old daughter here and there was nobody there waiting it was simply my family. The guy comes over and said one of us could go back into the waiting room, and then i asked if my wife/child who was in a car seat can come with me. He then rudely responds that as long as the baby is quiet they may come. Now, my baby is 12 weeks old at this point, and simply sleeping in a car seat. There is nobody in the office and you make a comment like that? The doctor herself was good/helpful and generally willing to assist with my problem. The person up front who has nothing to do with foot care/podiatry is the entire reason i didn't give this place 4 stars, and is the reason I'm not going to be returning back here.

I went back and had them adjusted after wearing for a while it caused severe hip pain. I was sent home with same orthotics and cotton taped to the bottom to try for a few weeks. I was in such pain. I found out these orthotics caused a labral tear in my hip. Life has been tough. I don't recommend this place

I had a very weird experience with Dr. Prefer. I had been her patient for about 8 months and over…read morethe holiday break went to schedule my annual mammogram. I didn't have a prescription for a mammogram in the portal, and as I had an appointment with her in January I figured I'd get a prescription for it then as it was only a couple weeks away. That would have made me about 4 weeks overdue for a mammogram. During my January appointment I asked Dr. Prefer for a mammogram prescription and immediately after our appointment I got a very hostile note in the portal from her basically saying I was a terrible patient for not having a mammogram and I best shape up if I wanted to be her patient. Baring in mind that I was 4 weeks overdue AND I DIDN'T HAVE A PRESCRIPTION from her for a mammogram. I'm not sure what she had expected me to do without a prescription, and I began to wonder if I was supposed to get one without a prescription and called the imaging center. They said I could "self refer" if I met certain low risk criteria. So I scheduled an appointment as a self referral for later that week. In the meantime I went to the pharmacy for a flu shot and the pharmacy tech told me that they tried to auto refill my usual prescriptions but my doctor had called and canceled all my women's health prescriptions. I asked who would cancel basic maintenance meds and - it was Dr. Prefer. The pharmacy said they never see this. She canceled them the very same day as our appointment. Because I was 4 weeks overdue for a mammogram - AND AGAIN - DID NOT have a prescription. I had my self referred results sent to a new provider who shared in my outrage. People project all sorts of nonsense onto others - but at the point I'm paying $200 for a 20 minute appointment filled with projections of nastiness and hostility is completely unacceptable and frankly entitled and gross. Shame on her.

For many young women, going for the first ever gynecological exam feels frightening and/or embarrassing. Back then, I was anxious about all medical exams and procedures. Physicians in general scared me and I had already had a bad experience with the very first gynecologist I had tried. Dr Prefer listened to my fears and reassured me in a very calm, soothing voice. She really took her time explaining everything and getting me used to the whole idea of a gynecological exam. I trusted her and was able to relax. Over the last 25 years, Dr Prefer has been there for me consistently, even once late at night for an emergency. I appreciate so much how she has taken care of me all the way from young adulthood through to perimenopause! There's a reason that I drive an hour to see Dr Prefer, and it's that she is and one of the top three doctors I have ever been to for anything in my entire life! Really, I can't imagine a Dr being more caring, approachable, knowledgeable, kind, and thorough than Dr Prefer is. Thank you Dr Prefer!

I allowed Dr. Harvey Jacobs to convince me that I needed foot surgery in 2002. I was 20 something…read moreand it was my first surgery. I had bunions on each foot and he suggested not only the bunionectomy but that my second toe (which was PERFECT) should be operated on also. He said that when we straightened the big toe it would make the second toe sit straight up so he would fuse that toe to make it stay straight. I didn't understand what this meant and clearly didn't have the good sense to ask more questions. What percentage chance of this happening, what will it look like after etc. He completes the surgeries back to back. The pain was unimaginable. After the left foot was completed I told him do NOT fuse the toe on the right foot, I will take my chances with the toe standing up. Two weeks after the second foot was completed I went to his office in terrible pain asking if this was normal. He went to examine my foot and I told him I was in a lot of pain but had taken my codeine. His response? "Don't worry, I've taken my codeine too". The examination revealed that his surgery was done improperly, toe was out of place and yet another surgery needed. This was the point that I limped away and had another podiatrist surgeon take over but it was too late. That doctor and several others I saw in the coming years advised me that they had NEVER seen an outcome that bad. They tsk tsk and shake their heads when they see how Dr. Harvey Jacobs mutilated my feet. The second toe which needed no treatment looks like it belongs on Frankenstein. I assumed the incision would not be on top of my toe based upon how he explained it but it was. This tragic unnecessary surgery changed the whole trajectory of my life. I was heading to business school months following the surgeries but because of Dr Jacob's incompetence my recovery time was excessively long which hindered my ability to participate in the school experience. I have to choose every shoe super carefully to cover my hideous scars and support the handicapped nature of my feet. Now I have to purchase shoes a size larger and let me tell you it is so much harder to find size 11´s than 10´s. I'm absolutely disgusted that this man is still in business after how he mishandled me, admitting to drug usage and ruining my only set of feet. All the kings horses and all the kings men have said I have a life sentence with these feet. They look horrible and I was trying to do something to improve myself and due to my choice of doctors I now have a lifelong handicap. Friends who have never seen me in open shoes look with horror and ask me in an alarmed voice "what happened!" Even though it was 20 years ago the mutilation still looks fresh. I wish there had been google reviews when I made this life altering decision to allow Dr. Jacobs to mutilate me. Hopefully this review can save someone else from making the mistake I made.

He even called me right back when I called the day after surgery (on a sat morning), even though he was not on call, and talked me through my drama. (All I had to do was loosen my ace bandage!) I just went back for my suture removal and hobbled my way in, in my boot. Doc gave me the courage to walk more normally in my boot, providing the reassurance I clearly needed - letting me know everything would be okay.
