His original point of contact in the office was Alana. A woman who in our experience has proven to be completely incompetent, lacks integrity and has absolutely no work ethic or moral compass. To start, everything was going smoothly, he received his WC insurance without hiccup. Suddenly the payments stopped although he had followed all procedures, kept every appointment and was kept out of work via doctors orders as his injury was slow healing and would require additional medical care. In making contact with Alana, he was advised that WC stopped the claim saying that he had missed the appointment with the WC doctor which was not true. She then changed the explanation saying that the WC doctor had cleared him to return to work. My fiance disputed these findings saying that orthopedic doctor had not cleared him and that he was still injured. Finally she reviews his medical record and confirmed his continued injury and absence from work along with the addition medical treatment needed. She stated that she would file an appeal that he would hear something back soon. It has now been over a month with no response or update from Alana. She does not return phone calls or answers emails. She is completely unprofessional! Finally, my fiance was able to speak with the lawyer directly only to be told that he had not seen any of his paperwork and knew nothing of his claim. He also stated that he was told by Alana that my fiance was deliberately trying not to go back to work! I'm sure plenty of people take advantage of these types of situations however, this is not the case! The audacity of this woman to create such a negative false narrative of a client and the unprofessionalism of the lawyer to repeat it! As it turned out the WC doctor had cleared his return to work because Alana had not sent any of the updated medical records to WC. After threatening to seek alternative legal council only then does this lawyer, Werthamer review his case, confirms the same medical information that Alana previously confirmed and states that he had filed the appeal. It is going on another 2 weeks with no update and no response from Werthamer. Run don't walk to another law firm. Clearly shit rolls downhill in this place!
