The quality is unmatched in Fayetteville, and the prices are competitive. For comparable plants I would be paying nearly double at larger retailers. In addition to vegetables, flowers, and herbs, we purchased our Christmas tree here in 2012. Historically we have cut down our own tree, but due to illness were unable to last year. We were thrilled with the lot's selection. The trees were healthy and had only been cut down two weeks prior--and this was the week before the holiday. We might be changing the tradition again this year.

It's $10/foot for you cut trees and cash only so plan ahead. Friendly family owned operation. Better tree selection than the place in Jacksonville but if you're used to tree farms out west or on New England, don't expect that here. But for this part of the state, it's a good find! I just hate that they butcher all the trees into cones. I'd rather a natural tree that doesn't look like Edward Scissorhands had come through.

The staff are fast and helpful and will carry the tree to your car and secure it to your roof (if you have roof bars). We tip for this service. The Family Farm on Avent Ferry was easy to locate and has ample parking. Empty wagons are set up out front for use transporting pumpkins. Numerous pumpkins line the shop inside and out. We gathered up our pumpkins and used the outdoor checkout table. After paying, we enjoyed a meal from the hot dog stand. There is also an acai bowl shop and a food truck. Only issue was the Goblin pumpkins were listed as 50%, however, the ladies at the checkout table insisted they were 25% off. Even though they were situated near the sign saying 50% off, they rung them up as 25% off and then didn't adjust the signage. I understand that incorrect signage can happen, but they should fix it and make it clear that they are charging a different amount than advertised.

There is an activity area kids to play, tractor hay rides, beautiful poinsettias, hot chocolate and apple cider available, knickknacks to put around the house or gifts to give, handmade fresh wreaths made on site, Mr. & Mrs. Claus on certain dates and plenty of precut trees to choose from! I love that there's plenty to look at for adults and kids, which doesn't make it your ordinary tree farm. There's a small lot for parking - I'd suggest getting there within the first 2 hours of them opening on Fridays and the weekend. The entire staff is extremely friendly and more than willing to help you out. They're so jolly! The small trees around 1-2 ft are around $35. 3-4ft is around $40. 4-5ft is around $55 5-6ft can range between $80 6ft+ is $100 up. Honestly it's worth the price, and I love to support the nice owners of this place. They definitely know how to make it a wonderful experience!

We…read moremoved from South Carolina to Cary in 2001, and when the end of November came around, we realized we needed to find a Christmas tree farm. Back Achers Christmas Tree Farm is the answer! It is a family-owned business, and everyone working there is so nice. I love seeing the owner out there in his bright orange cap. He always has a smile on his face. As is true with all things that come from nature, some years have better "tree pickins" than others. However, I cut down my tree here the weekend after Thanksgiving, and there are still plenty of beautiful trees available. Back Achers provides the saws. You grab one when you arrive and walk down the fresh pine smelling aisles of trees. If you don't want to cut down your own tree, but still want to support a local business, they do sell pre-cut trees as well. The prices are very affordable. I found my 8-footer this year for $32. They also provide a $1-off coupon on their website. After you cut down your tree, they shake it all out, wrap it, and strap it to your car. I highly recommend making a trip to Back Achers part of your holiday tradition!
