It has a castle and rocket motifs, with lots of different levels and activities. The only catch is that it is located on the grounds of an elementary school (fenced, but still,) so is only available outside of school hours.

Okay time @ Cheadle Lake Park in Lebanon, OR…read more Even though the path around Cheadle Lake is clean and wide, I would not recommend this area. The path is lined with blackberry bushes, and that equals to massive amounts of vines with thorns. There are also limited areas where dogs could safely sniff around in green space, but doggy bags and trash cans are available. This is, however, a great place for people to fish. We saw 3-4 small groups of people casting their lines to fish. There are also informational plaques throughout the trail about the wildlife, inhabitants, and history. I stopped here one time before, but did not get out of my vehicle to enjoy this area because there were a couple people walking their dogs with no leash and many others just sitting in their cars, which made me feel uneasy.

There is a 2 hour time limit, I think that is annoying (they mark the time on your receipt that goes on the dash of your vehicle). The parking area is tiny and the chalk lines are far too narrow, difficult to put a normal size car in the lines let alone a truck. There are a LOT of rules. Can't do this, can't do that... on and on. But oh, you don't have to wear clothes. It's just over controlled. There is a really gross toilet at the springs -some sort of belt driven system, yuck, a pit toilet would have been better. There were 26 people there when I got there and it felt crowded. I can't imagine the 50 people they allow, that would be ridiculous. The water was nice and warm. I wouldn't rush to go back.

There are dig out restrooms available at the trailhead as well as a trash bin. The trail is easy though there are some boulders you need to scramble over in the lava fields. You will walk along a beautiful river and cross a couple foot bridges and streams along the way. Once at the blue pool you will truly see that the photos you've seen online are not edited! The water is unbelievable. You can walk down to the water but it is not recommended to jump in unless you are experienced. The water is 30 degrees year around and several injuries have occurred here- so be wise and have fun.

The trail is a fairly easy one but you have to watch where you step. The first .75 miles was quite flat but the next .75 miles was fairly rocky. My husband and I both rolled our ankles at different points. Once you get to the actual spot to see the blue pools, there is one sign that says no biking. At that point, veer off towards the water area to see the pool! We missed it and were in the zone of walking and we ended up going too far! Don't go to the bridge that only has one side to hold on to. That means you've gone too far

I visited McDowell Creek Falls decades ago for a quick hike and to take some pictures. We decided…read moreto take a drive for the day and head here to see what it was like now. We arrived to a very busy and almost full parking lot, making us think the trails were going to be incredibly busy. Luckily, most were just using the picnic tables and walking to some falls that are close to the parking area. We grabbed our water and started on the trails. The trails are well-groomed and easy to walk on. One of the great parts is there are trails for easy-walking, and others that will challenge your legs! If you want to hike to the top of the triple falls, you will get a nice view from above. We kept hiking and ended up on the loop back to the parking area. I believe there are a couple more falls we may have missed, but we would have needed more water for sure. If you want a place to take a nice hike for the day, add this one to your list.
