They are very aware that they have bedbugs and the response from the manager we have "pest control" but it's clear that these bugs have been here for some time already. Another reason why I know that they are very aware they were willing to refund however they wanted me to sign a letter saying that they are not liable after. I'm on the second floor and it's a decent room. Comfy, warm bed, fresh sheets, no bugs, decent TV channel selection, nice view, hot shower . When it's cold I stay nice and warm in my room. Plus located near stores and a nice Laundromat which is also highly recommend. My experience with the manager here has been respectful and courteous. The staff working here are also friendly and gracious. The housekeeping ladies are also friendly and will greet you in the morning. Roughly $6000 spent. 60 days spent here. Only decent thing manager did was let us put the room in someone else's name at the 30 day mark to not have to bounce for a day (and also so they could keep all the "tax" they collected). You will not get a good nights rest most days, as there are either homeless or tweakers staying every night. You will not be respected when you have to wait for the cops to handle the noisy people they allow to run rampant. Elevator is going to break soon, already feels like it's gonna fall when you step into it. All black wearing lady still works here, still seems to hate her job. Half the parking lot isn't paved. Stairwells, elevator, and outside the office are common ground for tweakers to hang out at night. The two decent customer service minded ladies that work here have light brown hair, unfortunately they don't seem to work here often. It's a shithole ran by a cunty thief. the worst hotel experience i ever had. bed was not comfy. neighbors were very loud, blasting mariachi music late at night and then a loan shark came for one of them near daybreak. I was woken up several times. the next day, we begged to me moved rooms, so they said they would clean a new room for us, and to ask for that when we returned later. when we arrived that evening, we were told that all other rooms were occupied and we had no option beyond staying in the same room. Pool and hot tub is currently closed by the health department because they have an unsafe gate and they didn't clean their pool properly which has me a little worried about the integrity of the workers. This was our first attempt here for our corporate uses (check in 7/18). Started bad. Younger lady all in black, black hair, Booking .com stated 2pm check in. I had to go to the night window, she could not even be bothered getting out of her chair, even after I said cant hear you. She just kept saying 3pm, ok informed her the website said two, she said fine, $35 more. She made it very, very apparent I was interupting her tik tok time or something. Never even bothered checking my reservation to see it was a corporate (Corporate accounts are loved by most hotels) There is only one of two answers acceptable, "I am so sorry sir, but the rooms we can put you in are not ready yet, our apoligies" or "It is 3pm, let me see what I can do for you" Your employers will probably not be happy you blew out a corporate account. When I came back, 45 minutes later, a younger Asian lady helped me, she was efficient, polite, great to work with. Cleaning staff, even though we couldnt speak to each other were friendly, and the mature HIspanic lady (assuming the boss), she was very pleasant, very friendly, very respectful. I would say, get that one employee away from your customers, she is more harm than good for your business. I mean honestly, I am not sure our corporate will use you again. The rooms, they were clean, looked nice, fridge, microwave, nice flooring and AC worked, cant ask for more. It looked like the hotel was remodeling as there were like 30 mattresses in the parking lot. Maybe still waiting on disposal. The one washer and dryer looked like something I wont put my clothes in, vending machine didnt work..........so thinking they are working on the place. This was one of the worst overnight stays I have ever experienced. This was not the first place I went to rent a room but everything in the area was already booked. Let me try and capture a glimpse into the train wreck that was my night at the Chula Vista Inn. As I entered the room I immediately smelled mold. I assume that has to be from whatever was discoloring the ceiling above the bed. Looked like a classic issue of a water leak that was not fixed quick enough. When I arrived it was pretty late and my phone was dead so I was not quite sure of the time. A glance at the unplugged alarm clock did not help to rectify the situation. I also needed to use the restroom. As a entered and looked down at the toilet I noticed it had blood on the seat. Thankfully I had baby wipes with me and I cleaned it myself before using. I immediately went to take a shower but the shower was in terrible condition. Pealing paint and chipped porcelain made the attempt at showering semi dangerous as I did not want to cut myself on all the jagged edges inside the shower. There was a dirty shower mat left rolled up that was already filthy when I got there. The shampoo, conditioner, and soap dispensers they have attached inside of the shower were all empty. All 3! I gave up:( I just decided to go to bed, but I noticed that their pillows were the smallest, cheapest, most uncomfortable pillows I have ever seen or used anymore. The bed was not comfortable to say the least but I was exhausted so I just made it work. When I woke up in the morning I decided to go speak to management about my night of horror. As I walked through their trash and empty alcohol bottled filled parking lot I walked to the help window as no one was allowed in the lobby. There was a woman working the counter. She had on dirty tennis shoes. Both shoes were untied as she walked up. I asked to speak with a manager but she said there was no manager present. I asked for a phone number for the manager but she was not allowed to give one out. If I wanted to speak with the manager I needed to stop by 3 days later and speak with the manager in person (through the glass window). She then said she has the owners personal number and could call and contact them. She did so while covering up the number blatantly so I could no see who to contact. She got the owner on the phone but the owner would not speak to me personally. She got off the phone and brought back a generic business card from the front desk and told me the owner told her to give me a business card in response. I asked "when I call the number on the card, won't I just reach you at the front desk"? which she replied embarrassed "Yes". I was blown away! What a trash establishment. There was also a general email address on the card. I wrote a description of my issues and emailed them. No response! I was not surprised. I paid close to $150 for the night stay here. This was my experience. You would do far better to go sleep on the beach or in a park than try your luck with this place. If you ever see the Chula Vista Inn, RUN FOR THE HILLS!!! read more

stayed here in January 2024, I had to call the police 2 times because heard yelling and fights next door. I tried to call reception nobody answers. I also payed for an extra night online before I the police incident and in the morning the Manager Josefina told me the I have to pay an extra 25$ to stay. I explain to her that I already paid for my stay and she replied because u paid online, you need to pay an extra 25$. I told her I never heard about this then she become rude and unprofessional. I honestly would give this place no stars but I have to rate it something! I would NOT recommend staying here at ALL! It's nasty, smells like crap and the staff members are inconsiderate. When complaining and giving good reasons to request a refund they refuse because they gave us a "discounted rate". They don't seem to see an issue with the room since they truly believe its clean and in good condition since the room has been recently updated. The room also had little insects which was disturbing. They did give us an option to switch and when my husband checked the room it was the same, so how is that helping with our concerns. To top it off we asked for new towels since the ones in the room had yellow and brown stains, but even the news ones they gave were worse which the cleaning lady said she just got it out of the washer, like really you did so can you explain the yellow, brown and black stains - she couldn't! Don't even think of staying here. Total false advertising from the owner. First the room looked dirty the couch was from the 80's and looked disgusting. The bed frames didn't fit the mattress and stuck out like 3 inches all around have the bruises from bumping into it constantly. The dresser had drawers missing and to top off our two day stay we had to go to the office to get a different key the second day because they deactivate it and couldn't get into our room. Plus no smoke detector no hair dryer as well and the outlet by the sink didn't even have electricity. Reserve somewhere else. read more

The service wins me every time. Karina was very friendly from the day I checked in to the day I checked out. The location is an added bonus. This place it near the freeway. There are eateries within walking distance and if all else fails, a few blocks heading south one can always relegate to Costco's chicken bread and hot dogs. The rooms are adequate. Let's face it, we come here not for the amenities but for a place to sleep... Nothing less nothing more. The beds were comfortable and the television is large enough to enjoy the cable channels. The microwave and fridge is a plus since I am sure you know by now that they don't offer room service. The price is reasonable since I booked online. Kind of bummed this place closed but I guess it was bought out. Who knows. This was home the first night we moved to San Diego aka Chula Vista. It was the perfect location because it was around the corner from our apartments so instead of getting a cap we just walked our happy asses. It was very fancy! Heating! Tv! Nice and clean. I enjoy it even though it was one night. Everyone waa very nice and helpful. Didn't feel all ghetto and scared. The location is nice since it's close by to other shops. I would stay here again! They have a pool and spa, wasn't open when we stayed here which sucked. Oh! The free breakfast was the bomb!!!! They had so many options and it was all nice and fresh. Waffles you can make yourself, hard boiled eggs, fruits, cereal, toast etc etc. the works! Staff is easy to talk too. My stay here was nice. The staff was nice. But our room smelled like smoke & sewage. We had a double bed room, and my bed made a horrible noise every time I got in or out of it - or turned. The air conditioner looked like someone beat it up along with the edge of my bed and most of the drawers. The ice machine, washer and dryer & soda machine were not in service. The lobby was closed. The pool had a lot of debris, and a big cockroach floating in it. I got it out with a stick because we had a long drive, and I really wanted to dip in that water. The jacuzzi. water was green, and had debris floating in it. We stayed out. There was a cockroach in the bathroom when I got up to pee in the night. The parking lot was paved like I needed a four wheel drive. The mattress was firm and comfortable as long as I didn't move. Not sure if I'll be staying here again. read more

Some of the plug ins didn't work so we had to share it to charge our phones, we stayed for one night , when we woke up early in the morning there was NO WATER, SO TOILET DIDNT FLUSH AND WE COULDN'T TAKE SHOWERS. When we called the front desk the young lady said she knows and couldn't do anything about it until her manager came in which was at 7. Water came back around 8:30. Total roach motel I can't believe how bad that place is. My main issue is cleanliness, there were stains on the walls and carpet. The elevator smelled like pee and had graffiti on the inside. The owner just decided to paint over the tile to hide the cracked grout and old moldy caulking, Oh and to top it off the light fixture above the sink had about 100 or more dead bugs on the inside of it please check the pictures I left. If you're the owner of this motel and you're reading this, shame on you for the way you run that place. It's obvious that you spend zero money on trying to renovate that place which it badly needs but you're still making money. I unfortunately used Hotwire and they gave me this place and I couldn't get a refund so I was stuck at your awful motel for a unpleasant night. For all the times I've talked about my poor experiences in Motel 6, it seems like a luxury resort compared to this place. The outside looks fine until you get into a room. Before that though, let it be known these people take pictures of your ID and card on a tablet. You don't let them take pictures, you can't get a room. It was very uncomfortable but we had already reserved and could not get our money back, so we had no choice. When my spouse and I entered the room, it smelled of cleaning product so I figured things were safe, I was wrong. As we entered and explored the room, a random metal piece that was sticking out of the bed frame tore open my spouse's pants, and it pretty much just went downhill from there. The floors are somewhat mopped in certain areas, but it was obviously never swept as there was dirt everywhere. There were cobwebs all over the room and I jumped on Expedia to see the reviews. I noticed someone had the same room I did and read their description, as they talked about a spider web in a certain corner of the room near the bed. Sure enough, I looked over and there was that same spider web A MONTH LATER. I then saw a couple little weird blotches of what I thought was yellowed soap on the bed and a piece of hair. Because of the rest of the room, I felt it best to ask for a sheet change. I asked the front office and waited for the cleaning ladies to come up. I turned on the tv for a bit before I realized the cable wasn't working. So I just sat there and waited. When the ladies came up, it was an older woman and a younger woman with a scowl on her face, obviously upset I was asking them to change the sheets. After questioning where the spots were, they asked if it was okay to leave it as is. I politely said no and asked again to change my sheets. They left and the front office called me a few minutes later, confused as to why I "told the cleaning ladies I no longer requested my sheets changed." I told her again, I never said that and I still want my sheets changed. When the cleaning ladies arrived a few minutes later, the younger one demanded in Spanish "you need to leave" as she started changing the sheets. We stepped out without complaint or question, not wanting to cause anymore tension. We attempted to make the best of the hotel for the night but we spent much of it killing small flies. Hi guys. I want to let you guys know of my experience here. Number one please go not stay here. I checked in on 1/8/21 and was given a room that someone was already checked in. To be specific it was room 315. Then I had another room as well. In room 220 it has no heater and I was moved to room 117 in which the television wasn't working. The staff is very unprofessional as well. The night shift associate was wearing his AirPods, in his Nike slides and wearing sweats. There are homeless at night walking around. The main front desk lady- i'm assuming the owner- was very nice and very friendly. however when we were there for 5 nights, our room was not cleaned once. We had to ask for more towels. But despite not getting cleaned, the housekeeper tried coming into our room at 7 in the morning MULTIPLE times. She was banging on the door trying to open it when it was locked. Then when we told her we were in there she scoffed and rolled her eyes. We walked out of the room for her to come up and go in our room and leave. But no cleaning or garbages or anything was taken out. When going to leave the complaint at the front desk at check out, the front desk girl (much younger, not the original one) seemed so put out that I wanted to talk to her so we just left. We had low expectations staying here knowing the hotel's star rating and from other reviews. But we were never comfortable and didn't feel at ease during our 3 night stay. The lack of cleanliness and the inability to get rest due to noise were our biggest sticking points. The hotel is conveniently located to the 5 and to the blue line trolley stop on H street. There is also a liquor store across the street to quench any thirst. In the rooms, you'll find a large refrigerator, an ironing board and iron, a coffee maker, a wall lotion and soap dispenser, a flat screen television, and a microwave. You'll also have free internet and continental breakfast in morning which I wouldn't rate highly due to a lack of breakfast proteins (just hard boiled eggs, no bacon, sausage, etc) and a broken waffle maker timer. The bathroom had an unpleasant odor with cobwebs in the fan. There was absolutely no soundproofing from the outside. From footsteps to normal conversations to a couple fighting, we could hear it all. In the stairwell next to the main office, there was a dead bee hanging from a spider web attached to one of the hallway lights. I'll call the bee Barry. Barry greeted us every time we ascended and descended the stairway. If you get back to the hotel late at night, the far lot is not lit well, which will having you looking over your shoulder walking back to your room. I'll always give a business the benefit of the doubt, especially if I think they're making a concerted effort, but we just didn't feel comfortable here. You can do better. read more

Alright, I'm a local so why am I in need of a hotel room? Look man don't judge but i still live at home and when you need some lovin and alone time with you're bf, these are the measurements I must take, because the backseat of your car gets old fast. Groupon hotel deals are always a bust. So we made some calls and figured best western was a decent hotel chain. $89.99 and a free continental breakfast? Alright how bad can that be. We've stayed at worse like the Navajo lodge on El Cajon blvd for $65-$70 and night and anything is better then that place. The outside looked decent and nothing sketchy or weird patrons hanging around. Just a bunch of out of state and Baja license plates in the lot. We had no interruptions, heard no suspicious or "loud" activity and felt completely safe. The room was clean and there was a TV and stainless steel microwave and fridge, and coffee maker. My review and three stars is over one thing that I cannot get over and I have never seen before.... And that was the very peculiar tub/shower combo and bathroom layout. It was the first thing we noticed walking into the room. A jet rub with a shower on a tile Platform RIGHT NEXT TO THE BED. The bathroom and sink where next to it in its own room. So so weird. You literally had to climb in and out of the tub and how to God you didn't slip on the tile steps and bust your ass. If you're on the bed you're for sure feeling some of the shower mist. The tub was dirty and even though they had jets in It and it was tempting I did not want to even think of submerging myself in there. The shower head was no adjustable and pointed so far up. This was all I could stare at as we were in there. Whatever, I got some booty and just gave myself a bird bath and ate my free cereal and sausage and eggs and called it a day. read more

I've seen better Best Westerns as far as cleanliness is concerned. The room is standard. Found two types of small flies (killed one if em). Can be noisy outside if you have noisy neighbors. There are lots of Mexican food places on Broadway. I'd probably stay here again because I got the room for a fairly inexpensive price through hotel.com. He FINALLY did but told me I couldn't reserve a room with them again because it was that much of an inconvenience for him to give me a clean room with out paying again! The new room he put me in the television nor clocked worked! The beds are in even bathrooms are extra dirty. So uncomfortable couldn't even get a good night sleep! Constant noise from other guests. It was not what it seemed like on the website. It was disgusting. There was a spider in our room. The sink was plugged and would slowly drain the water. The restroom tile was falling out. And the carpet was disgusting. Overall I was super unimpressed. It was just super sketchy and I did not feel comfortable being there at all. I don't recommend it. I just needed a place to rest for one night and it was a sleepless night. I hated it. I wish I could get a refund but I didn't have the nerve to say anything to the front desk. But I wish I would have. I'm exhausted from not sleeping. Again, this place needs to be fixed up and needs major upkeep. read more

This just cannot be a Best Western. #1 the lobby looks like a storage room. #2 rooms have a bad order. #3 needs to be demolished, tile lifting, carpet needs to be ripped out, bathrooms are horrible. The shower bar is bowed so the curtain stays in the center. #4 fire extinguisher is hanging from the ceiling, paint peeling. #5 towels are placed under the refrigerator for balance. #6 Bedding is awful, mattress pad is in shreds #7 towels are thin and worn. #8 don't stay there, we will not return. read more

I was travelling to South San Diego for a long awaited culinary event. To be honest Best Western Chula Vista Inn was not my first choice because of the distance from the venue, however the price for that weekend was reasonable especially after researching the property online. I was very impressed from beginning to end. When I checked in, the front desk greeted me right away and checked me into my room efficiently. The room was very clean, comfortable, and had all the basic necessities including a microwave and refrigerator. In the morning they served a pretty good continental style breakfast which even had hard boiled eggs and make-your-own waffles. I was impressed because what I usually find for breakfast at some hotels are a few sweet rolls and things of that nature. After breakfast I checked out at the front desk and the lady was caring enough to ask me how my stay was and if I would take the time to fill out a comment card because they're always looking for new ways to improve. The only suggestion I had for them was to look into adding yogurt to their breakfast. Overall I had a pleasant stay at Best Western Chula Vista Inn and I will be returning in the future. read more
