I remember a shiatsu massager machine that a friend of mine had in the '80s. Do you remember them? They had two little nodes that rotated. Bill Bailey described it as being like a robot prostitute from the future. With this memory, I had an idea of what to expect from the shiatsu treatment...although I couldn't have been more wrong. It's not a massage! This was my first surprise. My body was wonderfully manipulated and moved into positions I never knew I could do. She was so gentle when she needed to be and firm when she felt it was right. I felt elated during the treatments. I can't describe it - like a dissipating dream - but it felt like...how can I put this? Assisted yoga crossed with physio and a chiropractic treatment mixed with so much more.
