But after chatting with Nemo - the proprietor - you realize you're in for something special. He hand-makes each order individually. It takes a bit longer than a grab n' go, but it's worth it. The fish is sublime, and the batter is one of the best I've ever had on anything. The chips. What can I say - they're spectacular. Fucking amazing. DE-LICIOUS. I loved the Ezme Salad and I've never had Halep Kebab before either and I can't believe what I've been missing; this is now my kebab of choice they also do a BBQ onion (I don't know either) which I might give a try this week. The price point is pretty good too so I think good value for money

The table next to us ordered chicken sandwiches (this location has both a fish and chicken menu) which also looked amazing! The restaurant itself was very clean and had a friendly staff. You have the option to get the food take away to save a little money as well. If you are looking for fish and chips that are not greasy and of high quality, this place is for you!!

There was a lot of both, so everything was very filling. Chips were pretty good - not soggy at all, and very crunchy. The cod was not bad, but the batter was too thick, so in the end it wasn't pleasant eating. The place is really small, with just a few tables. Interestingly, they have large London black and white photographs on the wall, and a sign that says you can't touch them.

The Kingfisher has AMAZING reviews for their extensive vegan menu (see photo) on other sites and during our travels we made sure to make the trek from our friend's place in Plumstead to try it out. We weren't disappointed--the owner was so welcoming and sweet and we didn't have to take her up on her satisfaction-guaranteed-or-money-back offer. She told us how she developed the recipe for the vegan fish herself, despite the shop being a traditional fish and chips place for decades prior to expanding its vegan offerings. It was lovely to have great tasting and generously portioned food made in-house by a chef who takes such pride in her food. We weren't able to make it back to the restaurant a second time during our visit, but until we return to London we'll be recommending it to anyone in the area!
