So I'm giving 5 stars to this restaurant but this is in a curve. This a PuertoRican 5. You will not find a better restaurant in the island. It may be just as good. But not better. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. Home to some of the best restaurants in the world (fight me). Done a little traveling. I would have to say this is a 4 star restaurant in a major international city. Which is still good. But let me explain. First the ambience. They did a wonderful job with the decoration and general look of the place. If you have gone to New Orleans you will recognize many architectural details because Spanish and French architecture are amazingly close in the late 1800's. It was real. Not a Disney-like facade but honest to goodness home vibes. (Which is funny because this used to be an ophthalmologist office in the 70s and 80s. I know because this is where I got my first pair of glasses) Then there is the service. My server was Ariana. Best server I have had bar none. Period. End of sentence. It was too much. 3/4 of what was used to flavor the rice would have been more than enough. Finally dessert. Cheesecake tempura on a guava sauce with passion fruit ice cream. Yep. As good as that sounds. Again, flawless execution. The cheesecake was nice and creamy and the tempura was crunchy and tasty. And the ice cream was beyond compare. Overall a fantastic experience. The price was reasonable considering the experience. But this is not McDonald's so be ready. My best to the chef and the staff. Oh and the hostess was on time and on point.
