Regua is not a touristy town, and this restaurant just across from the river cruise ships was one of the best finds in our 5 weeks in Spain and Portugal. Simply prepared meat over a flame with a salad and local wine. My husbands steak was of the finest quality, and my bbq roasted chicken with a light and spicy sauce was a surprise in a country that doesn't do spicy. We had our entrees, salad, rice, f fries, multiple glasses of wine, 2 glasses of port, and 2 desserts for only 22 euros. We admire the hard work, graciousness, and sense of humor of the owners and staff, especially since we don't speak Portuguese. This is a bbq meat place that was a great addition to our fish entrees this trip. read more
