I'm not sure why I like Chuy, but for some reason I do. I like the style of the restaurant and the service has been good at this location. This is a busy restaurant they pack you in. On most nights we have to wait to be seated for about 20 minutes, not a long wait. I like the margaritas and the chips and salsa the best. And just hanging out in the restaurant. As for the food I have tried, the combo meals they have been pretty good. Not a fan of the shrimp tacos, they were cold. Had to send back and they were not much better the second time. It takes a lot for me to write a bad review because it's just too much work and always feels like a useless rant. However, I just walked out of this Chuy's after 10+ minutes without a word said to us from a server. Normally I'd say it's understandable since it's dinner time but it wasn't that busy tonight. What got me the most was the complete disrespect for patrons by FULLY making eye contact (while they all stood in a group) and just laughing about who should take a table. Insane and unacceptable. We usually visit the Alliance location, but coming to the Arlington Chuy's was a great change of pace! The food and service at this location were absolutely excellent. We came for a birthday dinner with our entire family, and Stefanee made the evening extra special. We were admittedly a pretty needy group with lots of requests, but she handled everything with patience, kindness, and a smile. She was incredibly attentive and accommodating, kept the meal running smoothly, and never made us feel rushed or like we were asking too much. Taking care of a large family table isn't easy, but Stefanee made it look effortless. She truly helped make our birthday celebration memorable. I was excited to try their chicken tortilla soup but it was disappointing that the corn was toasted to a blackened level that it made the whole dish unappealing and was unable to eat much. I questioned it to the server and she said that that was the way the corn was supposed to be, charred black. The server herself was very sweet about it, so I don't blame her at all. Friday night out was at Chuy's in Arlington! I love Chuy's however tonight I was so disappointed in the service! First off it was 12 minutes after we were sat before even acknowledged server came and took our drink orders so we also ordered our food! We had a 5 party group and she took my friends order first she ordered the Elvis Fried Chicken the server said Refried beans and Green chili rice ok with that and she said yes! I ordered the exact same item! They brought our food with the wrong rice they said they would replace it however the server actually came up to us and said that's what they bring out now unless you ask for different I said you literally ask us if the green chili rice was ok and she said No I did not! Well both of us are not deaf! She was not having her best night and we are not a needy table! I really don't like decreasing stars due to a server however the night was not fun because of her! The ambiance is a mixture of old and modern pop culture and southern relics, but The food is mid to me and options aren't exactly expansive, but it's a popular go to. My aunt wanted to come get drinks here but they weren't as good as I thought they would be they had a great deal of flavors to mix though and that was nice! Although, I've eaten at different locations, I've gone to this Chuy's several times over the years. It's hard for me to give it five stars, though. The service is inconsistent at best. Service matters to me more than anything. I've patronized when they've been slow, kinda busy and when the place is jumping and nothing is any different with the speed of service. They blame it on lack of staffing. But, if you are lacking a full staff, those managers need to come out of the kitchen and get to bussing tables and becoming waiters. I've never seen that happen. I saw several tables that sat dirty for 20 minutes or more and the young lady cleaning had zero sense of urgency to get them cleaned so guests could be seated. May be why it took almost an hour to be seated. The logic behind why six or less can be seated in 10-15 minutes and 7-10 can take 45-60 minutes eludes me. Let's talk logistics and see if you can make it make sense. Heads up-you can't! The place was packed but if the tables could get cleaned faster, things may go smoother, people can get in and out and more customers would be served to a higher degree. The food is good. Love the Boom Boom Sauce! The service just needs quite a bit of focus group attention to get better. Our server was happy and nice. We've been coming to the Arlington Highlands Chuy's for years, ever since it first opened, and we've always enjoyed the food. That's why this visit was disappointing. The food was very good as usual, but the service was not. We ordered the appetizer plate for one and specifically asked for no jalapeños, but our waiter brought two appetizer plates instead. When he set them down, he didn't bring any plates for us to eat from. When I politely asked if we could get plates, he seemed irritated, walked off, and returned with only one plate, setting it on the table without saying anything. We had to ask again for another plate. Our water glasses were also left empty most of the time, and we had to ask twice for refills. Throughout the meal the waiter seemed uninterested and inattentive, as though he simply didn't want to be there. We normally have good experiences here and truly enjoy the food, which is why I wanted to mention this. I rarely leave negative reviews, but the service during this visit was noticeably unfriendly. Hopefully this was just an off day and management can take a look so future visits are better. read more

I saw on their website that they have a great happy hour with drink specials on margaritas, Texas 'tinis, etc. I stopped in during happy hour, and had a house frozen margarita. It was an OK margarita...not bad, not great. As good as any Mexican place, I suppose. I got the bill and it was $9.48 That was their special happy hour price for a house frozen margarita. I paid the bartender with a $20 bill, and he gave me $10 change. So, he basically rounded it up to $10. I have been in the hospitality business for my whole life, so I can't leave without leaving an absolute minimum of 20% tip. So I left him $2 cash, so that made a $2.52 tip on $9.48.....basically, a house frozen margarita for 12 bucks. I can't say I'll be suggesting Chuy's to my work friends as one of our happy hour meeting places. read more

Seriously, the service is ridiculous. Rarely is anyone at the takeout counter, and the hostess counter employees just stand there and stare at you. At least call for someone to come up front to help the takeout customers. There were six of us waiting just to talk to someone. I frequent this location since it opened back in the day. We ate the chips and queso (which tasted funny so we sent it back), ate our quesadilla and drank our drink. Took our plates. Took everything off the table dish wise. And handed us our checks. Never offered refills or if we wanted anything else. I understand they close at 10. Which was at like 9:30. They told them we felt we were being rushed out. He's like we close at ten.... It's currently 10:30 and the inside is still full of people. Honestly worst service ever received here. Service was quick, the waitress was attentive and had great recommendations. I got a margarita, nothing impressive to make me want to come back. I also had the tacp and cheese enchilada meal. There were three people in my party and one wanted to go to Chuy's and the other two did not simply because it's a chain restaurant, but we ended up at this Chuys and frankly I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the three enchiladas and taco plate but what really surprised me was the fact that the salsa was actually flavorful and spicy. It was great. I expected a bland, boring salsa and really bad chips. It was a great start. The guacamole was good as well but expensive as they put lettuce in the bottom of the bowl so it looks like you are getting more guac than you actually are. plates came to the table hot. I love the fact that my food was hot not mediocre warm. service was fantastic. Overall I would eat here again but prefer more real Mexican food. This is more white people Mexican food, but I was actually pleasantly surprised. It was a pleasant and good experience. The only downside is that the takeout containers are those black plastic containers which are made in China and filled with toxins. would prefer a cardboard take out carrier. This is our favorite place to get fajitas on the weekends. If we go before noon we can usually get sat immediately. We shared the fajitas for 2 and kids had the chicken strips because they are picky . I also asked for grilled Serrano peppers and they were so hot and perfect with my fajitas. The jalapeño ranch dip (that is probably not what it's called) is so good i can never go without getting it to dip everything in from chips to fajitas. Margaritas here and pretty good but a tad on the sweet side and i like mine a little more sour. So tonight we took my mom and dad out to have a double date. Madeline R was our server. Everything was good until we noticed that there were ants on the windowsill and they were climbing down the wall right next to our table when Madeleine had come back to the table, I quietly told her about the ants and said I didn't want to make a big deal but just wanted to let you know because they are crawling around. At that point, my husband and I were expecting the manager to come over and speak with us or for Madeline to come back and clean up the ants. When we had told her, Madeline told us that there had been ants there before because a customer left a chip there. When Madeline had walked by our table about five minutes after telling her and I asked her had she told her manager she responded that she had and I had told her that he had not or she had not come out to the table yet. Then the next time I had seen her and by the way, in the meantime, I had scooted all my food over towards my husband, and he was sitting out on the edge of the booth, and I had removed all my things and had stopped eating and had stopped drinking my drink she could tell that I was very uncomfortable and she I had asked her if I could have a new meal to go. She did that and said that I could go wait up at the front and she would bring my check to me and I asked her again. Have you told your manager and she replied yes when she had come up and handed us the check. I asked her again. Have you told your manager and she replied again yes. In the meantime, somebody had been sat right behind us where we had been sitting, and there were ants climbing back. They are on that windowsill too, so there was no trying to get them cleaned up. They were more interested in seating. People in the manager obviously wanted nothing to do with it and didn't even take the time to come out from the back on my receipt. It said that the general manager was Alfonso Mercado, but we paid over $100 including tip and I would've thought the least that we could've had was the manager coming out cleaning up the ants and apologizing to us very disappointed this used to be my favorite place to go every year for my birthday and when my husband had date nights, we tended to go here, but after the service that we received, I don't intend to go back there again. I do understand that people can have ants in a restaurant, but when you have people sitting at a table and there's ants climbing on the the windowsill down the wall right up against your table. You take care of it and you take care of your customers very very disappointed all around everybody there could have done something more. Oh my gosh, I had asked Madeline if I could have a new bowl a text mix bowl because of my bowl sitting over there by where the ants are and not knowing and I just looked at my receipt.
